Product Review: Mischka Derma Secret Sea Salt Detox Glow

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Hello dearies! Let's go back to my product review series. I've emptied almost four skin care products that I'm road testing so this week and next week will be posts on skin care reviews. First up, this body scrub from Mischka Derma Secret that I received last month. I'm into body scrubs right now, I like the squeaky clean feeling after using body scrubs. Since the heat is getting insane, I feel like I've accumulated all the dirt and pollution in my skin from commuting whenever I run for errands or go to events.

Aside from the removing 'dead skin' while scrubbing, this skin care ritual is one of my 'me time'. Among the body scrubs that I've tried before, the waiting time for this scrub is longer than usual. It takes 30-45 minutes for this scrub to work wonders on my skin with twice or thrice a week use. There's one thing that makes me think 100 times if I'll purchase again another tub. Click CONTINUE READING to know more about Mischka Derma Secret Sea Salt Detox Glow after the jump!

Product Review: Mischka Derma Secret Coffee Exfoliating Body Scrub

Monday, January 12, 2015

Last December, I received a bunch of skin care products from Mischka Derma Secret. The loot includes soaps, body lotion, body scrub and a lip plumping serum. I'm so giddy to try them all but my eyes were glued on their coffee exfoliating body scrub. I've gained weight these past few months and some are water weight because of water retention from eating salty foods. I'm not sure if using coffee scrub will make those excess water disappear but from what I've read, coffee scrubs can help in improving the appearance of cellulites and loosen up excess fluid so the appearance of the skin will look more toned and smooth.

I've been using the product for two weeks now, twice a week to be exact. Yes, I've seen positive results but not on the cellulites/fat per se. To know more about the product click CONTINUE READING and see if it's a yay or a nay!

Product Review: EXFOCLEAR Microexfoliating Facial Cloth

Thursday, June 05, 2014

It's time to ditch your favorite exfoliant with something that is reusable, affordable and effective. I'm so excited to share this review with you. I'm sure you're not familiar with ExfoClear yet and let me introduce this wonderful product to you. Our friends from Ampersand sent me two boxes of skin care goodness last April and I was surprised when I received the product. It's something that we should include in our skin care regimen. Wash, tone, moisturize and exfoliate (1-3 times a week)! Exfoliation is a very important step in our skin care routine because we can get a lot of benefits from exfoliating our skin the right way with the right kind of product.

     Why exfoliate?
Skin exfoliation gets rid of dull, rough and dry-looking skin to bring out it's natural radiance. Exfoliation also speeds up skin renewal and regeneration by constantly removing the layer of dead skin cells which have built up over the skin's surface. This accelerates the natural production of collagen and elastin, reducing the visible effects of blemishes, light scars and enlarged pores.

Enjoy gentler, safer more efficient exfoliation and microdermabrasion with ExfoClear. The soft and re-usable ExfoClear has no abrasive granules or harsh solvents that could scratch or scrape the skin.

I've been using this oh so great product for more than one month now. I use it twice or thrice a week depending on my skin condition. I don't use it during my period days as I find my skin very sensitive to scrubbing even with the lightest hand strokes. Yes, it's gentle on the skin and once you use it to exfoliate you'll definitely like what you'll see and feel. I'm targeting the white heads on my nose and I can really see them coming out after exfoliation using ExfoClear. To know more about ExfoClear and my experience click CONTINUE READING and find out!

Product Review: Natura Organics Fruit Bio-Active Complex C- Miracle Body Polish

Saturday, April 05, 2014

Ah body scrubs! First thing that comes to my mind when someone says exfoliate. There are different types of body scrubs in the market today and I'm sure you're having a hard time looking for the one. I've tried more than 5 brands of body scrubs before and I can say that based on the scrubber used as the main ingredient, you can see really tell which one will agree to your skin. There are salt type body scrubs, paste type with very fine beads, cream type with fruit seeds or fiber as exfoliant and etc, etc. I presume that you all know I'm an avid fan of organic products and I'm still on search for the best or at least better alternative to chemically-harsh skin care products in the market today. As for the body scrubs, I think I haven't found the best in terms of the quality and price but I've discovered one of the cost-effective especially if you're into luxurious body scrubs. I'm a cheapskate that's why even if the product is worth the price, I'm still having thoughts if I'll push through with it or just look for another alternative.

I think this body polish comes with a hefty price tag compared to the brands that I've tried before but if you'll look closely to the ingredients, the natural ingredients used are of high quality and yes they are expensive too. Take for example the grapeseed fiber used as scrubber, I love eating grapes but whatever season we have the price of this fruit is high compared to other fruits in the market. But if you have the money to splurge a little on a skin care product that contains effective ingredients then I recommend you try this body polish. So without further ado, here's the review of Natura Organics Fruit Bio-Active Complex C-Miracle Body Polish. Click CONTINUE READING to know more about the product.

Product Review: Mischka Derma Secret Green Papaya Body Scrub

Sunday, February 16, 2014

Hellos! How's your Valentine's Day celebration? I hope ya'll had a blast. My apologies for updating this blog just now. I had a very wonderful week with my family and friends and also received good news from brands that I never thought will become part of this blog. Thank you very much for all the support dearies, without you all the blessings will not be possible. March will be an exciting month for my dear readers. There's a lot of giveaways from my lovely sponsors so keep your eyes glued!

Let's start the week right with another review :) Summer is fast approaching and this season is one of the worst for me when it comes to taking care of my skin. I have a hate relationship with summer. My skin starts to react badly when the temperature rises. Breakouts here and there and my body starts to sweat a lot! I hate the icky feeling when I sweat a lot. That's why I always make sure to add a product or two to my skin care essentials for that extra squeaky clean feel. This is also the time that I usually skip or apply light lotions to avoid the greasy and heavy feeling on my body. Thanks to body scrubs because some of them doubles as moisturizers and polishes the body from dead skin cells accumulated by the skin from dust and other forms of pollution. I already have my favorite body scrubs but that doesn't stop me from discovering new brands and variants to try. Thank you Mischka Derma Secret for sending your body scrub. The moment I opened the tub, I sensed that the product is very promising. When I scooped a dollop of this scrub in my hand and spread it gently, I said to myself that this can pass as a dupe to my favorite Asian Secrets Lulur Scrub. Excited to see how this scrub has fared with my skin? Click CONTINUE READING to find out!

Combination of papaya extract, Seaweeds and more Vitamin E and B3. Polish dead skin cell and make your skin soft, fragrant and clean.

Product Review: ENVO CALAMANSI + LEMONGRASS Radiant Eclipse Body Scrub

Saturday, June 08, 2013

Hello dearies, let's continue our mini discussion here about ENVO. If you're a new reader of this blog, click here to know more about ENVO Bath and Body products. I presume you all know that my favorite scrubs are A Bonne Spa White C Salt and Asian Secrets Lulur Body Scrub and been using both alternately for more than 2 years now. I never expected that I will come across with an organic body scrub that will do the job in the exfoliation department. At first I'm very hesitant that it can remove dead skin cells because when I touched the "scrubbers"- apricot kernels, I said to myself that it's very fine and won't be able to exfoliate dirt from my skin. Since my skin is already used to harsh scrubbing (I know it's not good) because I really want to get rid of dirt and to have that uber squeaky clean feeling, small, tiny or fine particles will just slide off my skin. It's like scrubbing with no scrubs at all feeling. (hope you get what I mean) But lo and behold, this product is amazing! Now I need to believe in the saying "don't judge the book by it's cover" particularly with this product. haha!
Join the fight against dark and damaged skin, with the perfect blend of Calamansi and Lemongrass; you can see nature take effect in no time. Its main purpose is Whitening giving its users that fair light skin they have always wanted. Its main benefits consist of skin lightening, tonic, aromatic, minimizes oil secretion, revitalize and strengthens skin. This body scrub is lotion based so you get lotion plus scrub in one. It has a generous amount of apricot kernels which are used to exfoliate the skin instead of micro beads.
ENVO CALAMANSI + LEMONGRASS Radiant Eclipse Body Scrub- love the fancy design of their product label :)

Sample Room Experience + First Haul for 2013

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Happy weekend guys! We're fortunate that beauty comes in boxes now. I mean we can try beauty, skin care, wellness products and everything in between with these beauty subscription boxes. I presume that you all know these beauty boxes and had subscribe from them depending on your preferences. It boom last year around August if I'm not mistaken but I'm contemplating which box to get. The price ranges from 400-500 php for a month of subscription,  you'll get different variety of beauty and skin care items, some are samples while others are full-sized ones.

I've joined the club now! Finally got my first beauty product sample from Sample Room. I will not get into full details of SR since beauty bloggers already discussed everything on their blogs. I will just share my experience and how considerate they were because my first transaction from them was cancelled and it's my fault. I'm lucky that they'll going to return the first 70 points that I used and wasn't able to pay the shipping on time and totally forgot my order. I used my remaining points to purchase this...
My order comes in this eco friendly paper bag, sealed with SR sticker :)
This is what I ordered from the remaining points that I have. I have read all the reviews from SR that's why I'm convinced that Gluta-C is effective in terms of lighten dark marks and spots. I'm not sure if I'll use this on my underarm, I'm planning to use a little of this on my freckles and I hope this will work there too.
Gluta-C Skin Whitening Gel- FULL SIZE 20ml
Only 25 points for this one, not bad eh?
So now to my haul, basically these are products that I already use everyday. Nothing new except the Nichido Mineral Concealer that I will use as an eyeliner for my waterlines and the HBC Keratin Hot Oil Treatment that was always OOS. I was intrigued months ago why among the DIY hair care treatments from HBC this is always OOS. Now I can try this and see what's the rave about :) I also bought this top from a shop near our subdivision selling factory priced clothing from Lee and Jag. Got this for 50& off the tag! But it's to tight for me, I need to lose weight before I can wear this confidently.  The Tony Moly 7 Day Eyebrow Tattoo is the bomb!!! I will muse everything about it on my next post. I really LOVE LOVE it!!! It's the cheaper version of K-Palette (I guess) :D
LEE Lycra Puff Sleeve Blouse
Nichido Mineral Concealer
Tony Moly 7 Days Tattoo
ASIAN SECRETS LULUR BODY SCRUB
And by the way, the cutie bottle cap earrings was a gift from le sister on my birthday. She said she won in a giveaway and this was her prize from Hodge Podge. She's very shy to use this because of the word blogger written on it. Thank you so much Krystal! I'm also shy to wear this even if this is the craft that I love doing. I don't want others to misinterpret me wearing those earrings. But if I'm with blogger friends, I'll wear it because I'm sure they'll understand me 100%
HBC Keratin Hot Oil Treatment
QUICK FX PIMPLE ERASER
PUREDERM MAKEUP CLEANSING TISSUE
That's all for now. Drop a comment below if you have tried these products before. Have a great weekend ahead!

November and December Hauls

Monday, December 31, 2012

Before the year ends, I would like to squeeze in pending posts from my November and December haul. Since I'm on a tipid mode, I only bought few products for the last two months. Some products here are my HG's while some were purchased just to try if they're worth of my tight budget.

Before the Glorietta Vibe fashion show walk, I decided to buy a makeup remover wipes that can melt waterproof mascara without using an eye makeup remover. I think it's more convenient than bringing a bottle of eye makeup remover and cotton balls during the event. I also bought this foot socks and nail polish remover wipes for my feet. The Mondes Ionic Keratin hair treatment was purchased out of curiosity. I'm not happy with the product, I develop pimples and wound like itchy flakes on my scalp. I guess I'm allergic to one of its ingredient but I don't know what to pinpoint :(
Foot socks
Tony Moly Floria Cleansing Tissues
Mondes Ionic Keratin Treatment
Wish Nail Polish Remover
I also bought a back up of my favorite makeup remover wipes- Purederm  just in case my skin will react to Tony Moly Floria makeup remover wipes. This soap was given by my SIL when I visited my parents house. I was surprise when I read the label that it's manufactured by Splash- a local company selling beauty and bath products. But this was only sold through their direct-selling line like that of AVON. So now Splash is also making it's way on direct-selling, let's wait and see if they'll make noise this 2013. You know how I love Asian Secrets, and based on my experience this body scrub already replaced my first love on Abonne. I find this more convenient to use and doesn't hurt my skin if I use the scrub everyday!

Asian Secrets Lulur Body Scrub
Seriously White Gluathione Soap
Purederm Makeup Cleansing Tisuues

My last haul for this year came from Snoe. Yay for new variants: Licorice and Organic Papaya :) I bought these two from a BOGO sale at Cinderella. The SA their informed me that they're having a sale so I grabbed the opportunity. I already reached my third month of using the black bleaching soap so I need to rest my skin from bleaching and use a milder one. When Ms. Jen of Snoe suggested the Special Kojic and Glutathione combo as a substitute for black bleaching I followed her and loving the results!

My sister just gave me this toner to try. At first I was hesitant because I find this toner too strong for my thin skin. But Janet's review of Eskinol convinced me to try this product. Let's see if this product will fare good on my skin.

Snoe White Lightening Licorice Beauty Bar
Snoe White Special Kojic with Glutathione Beauty Bar
Snoe White Organic Papaya Soap
Eskinol Spot-less White Facial Deep Cleanser

Friday, November 23, 2012

Hi dearies! I just want to share things I accumulated from my "tipid mode"/ beauty on a budget shopping and an unexpected purchases from the Bazaar for All Season last November 4 (Sunday) with le hubby and my parents.

This mini haul is always on my list whenever I go shopping for my skin care essentials because all of them are my HG's. I forgot how many times I bought these products except the Quick FX which was my second sachet. If you wanna know why these products tops my list and why I considered them my skin's best-bestest friend read my reviews here ^_^
I wanted to support my favorite fashion bloggers that's why I decided to drop by at the Bazaar for All Season last November 4 and that's a Sunday. Shopping wasn't a plan at all until my parents got delighted with the mark down prices of shoes and clothes. Even though we only have an hour to window shop, they managed to buy something that's worth every peso :D Surprisingly, the hubby gave his signal for me to shop ^_^ but there was a limit to my budget and this were all I got.
Floral Bustier Top
Chiffon Button down Polo
Anagon "ZERO" Wire Bracelet
Simone's Fashion Closet Necklace
Souvenir photo from the Bazaar for All Season with Ana Gonzales and my son Kenzo/Zero. Wasn't able to take photo from fashion bloggers because they're all busy packing their stuff coz it's closing time :( Twas great seeing fashion bloggers! Hope to see you all next Bazaar!

Product Review: Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang

Saturday, July 21, 2012

Hi! I'm back (hopefully) to normal programming :D I want to make a review or an update here everyday maybe 2 to 3 post, whatchatink? Hehehe! But I can't promise you that because I still have mommy duties and my son always watch Cars toy reviews on you tube. If I have all the time in my hands, I will really make more reviews daily. I hope I can maintain one post everyday so that I can still have time commenting on other blogs that I follow. Sometimes, watermarking pictures and editing post takes all of my time and then I left my post unpublished. So on to the review. If you read my post about the allergies that's very annoying and itchy, you will see on the last part of that post this Soft White scrub. My sister gave it to me to test if it's on par with Asian Secrets that I really love. When my allergy has subside, I decided to use the scrub every other day to see the maximum result. I know one tub is not enough compared to nth tubs of Asian Secrets that I emptied but still I saw a bit of difference.

What I also like bout this scrub is the Olive oil because of it's moisturizing properties. I'm a fan of whitening soaps that leaves my skin dry so I need the help of moisturizers. The only downside of this product is it's contents. If you already tried Asian Secrets, you will surely notice upon opening the tub is the heaping scrub. With Soft White, the scrub is only 3/4 of the tub. Now here's my take on Soft White body scrub.
Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang
SoftWhite Body Scrub with Yam Bean Extract+ Olive Oil for clean and bright skin.
Makes your skin smooth, clean and bright. With natural ingredients to revitalize your skin. The soft scrubs removes dead skin cells and stimulate skin regeneration. The foaming lather rinses completely and great for daily use to provide smooth, soft and radiant skin.
size: 120g

price:  Free (79php =Around $1.80+)

place bought:  Free (Sold at Watson's Health and Beauty Store, Sm Beauty Section)

instruction for use: Apply to dry skin, massage all over your body in circular motions and rinse.  For best result, use it daily as soap substitute.

ingredients: Water, Polyethylene, Stearic Acid, Glycerine, Mineral Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycyrhizza Glabra Extract, Butylene Glycol, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum Extract, Morus Alba Root Extract, Pachyrrhizus Erosus Root Extract, Glyceryl Monostearate, Lanolyn Anhydrous, Dimethicone, Triethanolamine, Perfume, Carbomer, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, CI 77891, Methyl Paraben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propyl Paraben, Tetrasodium Edetat, Allantoin, Butyl Paraben
Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang
The color and texture is the same as Asian Secrets and Purbasari
but SoftWhite has nude beads for this variant.
(I already use this once before taking the picture)
Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang
After 3 uses, I emptied the tube in less than a week.

What I like:
  • The price! I know this is same as the small tub of Asian Secrets and Purbasari.
  • Exfoliates really well, I think it's because of the  beads.
  • Has Olive oil that is known for its moisturizing properties.
  • It somehow helped my allergy marks lighten a bit.
  • The scent is okay, a bit comparable to baby powder.
  • Manufacturing, batch and expiry date printed on the tub.
  • Sealed upon opening.
  • Makes my skin smooth and glowing.
What I don't like:
  • The contents, it's not full like Asian Secrets so I emptied the whole tub after 4 uses. I use it  every other day.
Will I repurchase? Yes! It's a great substitute for Asian Secrets Mulberry and Licorice (violet) that's always OOS!

Recommendation:
I give this a 4/5 rating. This scrub will be my alternative if Asian Secrets is OOS again. To avoid contamination use a spatula in scooping out the product. For maximum results you can leave it on your skin for 5-10 mins and as instructed use it everyday. I had a review of SoftWhite  Pink Variant before and I just use that twice a week. With this variant, I wanted to see faster results that's why I brave myself to use it every other day even if my skin is a bit sensitive because of the allergy.

Have you experience lulur scrubs before?Share your thoughts. Stay safe everyone!

Love Package + Hate Situation

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

Hello lovelies, how are you? Don't forget to join my 100th Follower Giveaway. I will just make a quick post. I'm still experiencing this freaky skin allergy/insect bites thing-y for days now. I don't know what to do! I've taken lots of anti-histamine and applied anti-itch creams and ointment but none seems to work. The last option I think I need to do before things get worse is consult a doctor. This thing is really freaking me out. It's like my worst nightmare. I can't sleep and my mind seems empty. My concentration level is down and I get irritated most of the time. I hope this thing will just go away without a mark. I'm afraid that I scratched some part of my body unconsciously and this will lead to scarring. Gaaah! But before ending this post, I will just share what I received last week. I won from another giveaway and this time it's from a fashion blog. I soooo lurve these stuffs and thinking of doing another outfit post soon.

DROWNING EQUILIBRIUMS: ROMWE GIVEAWAY

Thank you Ms. Aisa and Romwe for this wonderful giveaway! Will post photos soon :D

My sister also gave me a tub of Soft White Body Scrub in Bengkoang. She wanted me to try it first. Will make a review after a week. I can't use this right now because of this allergies/insect bites spreading all over my body.

I will end my post here guys. I hope you will visit my blog often, read my reviews and join my giveaway.

     Good Times!~

HG's Haulin'

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

I've been very busy last two weeks because my father underwent cataract operation and I'm the one responsible getting his laboratory results and cardio-pulmonary clearance. I'm also sleep deprived so my skin is acting up lately and I ran out some of my skin and hair care essentials that's why I need to replenish my stocks. So here's what I got from recent trips to Trinoma where I usually take MRT and purchased my haul.
That's it for now, I'll post my review on Color Me Happy soon. Been thinking of coloring my hair again because the roots are starting to show now. I'm torn between Kao Prettia in Chiffon Beige or Kao Prettia Platinum Beige. I want my hair really light this time bordering from light brown to blonde. Any suggestions? Thanks for sharing!

Good Times!

Product Review: Purbasari Lulur Mandi Putih

Saturday, January 14, 2012

When Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening body scrub ran out of stock, I saw another brand in Watson's and it's Purbasari. Asian secrets became a hit to many of us because of its divine smell and affordable price. Since Purbasari is same lulur scrub, I know there will be no difference at all but hey, there's one thing I noticed after using the entire tub of this.

Purbasari Lulur Mandi Putih
Ligthening- Bath Body Scrub

size: 135g

price: 80 php (Around $1.80)

 Purbasari Lulur Mandi Putih
What I like:
  • The beads are fine so it's gentle in exfoliating.
  • It's cheap! A tub lasts me more than a month. I exfoliate using this once a week.
  • It's creamy and moisturizes my skin. I can see a "glow" after using this.
  • There's a batch, manufacture and expiration date printed at the bottom of the tub.
  • Hypo-allergenic and dermatologically tested.
What I don't like:
  • The SMELL! It's too overpowering for me, I can't describe. As in I don't know. I can't breathe.
  • The packaging! It is unsanitary to dip your fingers inside the tub.
  • I didn't see any whitening on the part that I use it. Maybe I need to use this 2-3 times a week on that area to see the whitening result.
Will I repurchase? No! I like Asian Secrets way better than this.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. It does the exfoliating job like Asian Secrets do but I can't take the smell of this. I don't have sensitive nose but with this I think I'm going to vomit inside the bathroom. Sorry for the word but it's my honest experience with this scrub.

Good Times!~
