Product Review: Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo

Wednesday, September 05, 2012

Yay for the second post of the day! I actually planned to make it three or more??? Wish me luck guys :D I hope the coffee kicks in. I already had two cups and I don't want another because I'm early later for some errands. So now another long overdue product review (whoa, that's a rhyme), do you still remember my post about my first conditioner for color-treated hair?If not, you can read my review here. I really love the effect of Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy on my locks! I'm already on my 4th bottle of that conditioner and one bottle usually lasts me a month with everyday use. Do you  agree that in order to achieve maximum results of a product you should use the whole product line? I'm a believer of this before but now I have doubts after using this shampoo. Thank goodness, I'm not using this on a daily basis or I'll end up with a barbie doll hair that not-so-smooth-and-silky-to-touch after giving her a bath. Or it's just my doll? Hahaha!

Okay on to my review, I bought this shampoo months months ago and I'm just halfway through the bottle. At first I'm so excited because it's a tandem of both shampoo and conditioner so I have high hopes that this will make my color-treated hair more healthy and shiny. Well the first few weeks went well but months later I noticed something. It's not good nor bad, so-so methinks.

I tried working it with the conditioner. Yes it worked but I ended up using another shampoo. I set this aside and use another shampoo plus the Color Me Happy conditioner. I'm still thinking if I'll give this another try, maybe if I ran out of shampoo.

  • A little amount of product goes a long way.
  • Colorful and chic bottle.
  • Has manufacturing and batch date.
  • It has a great smell.
  • Cleanse my hair thoroughly.
  • Lathers well.
What I don't like:
  • Dried my hair a bit.
  • My hair feels coarse after shampooing :(
Will I repurchase? No because I don't shampoo my hair everyday so this product will last me a long way. I find this product ineffective in terms of adding shine and health to color-treated hair.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3.75/5 rating. I guess I have to find another shampoo for my color-treated hair. I thought using this shampoo together with the Color Me Happy conditioner that I really love will make the best of both worlds. But it's okay at least I've got to try it and see for myself.

Have you tried the new Herbal Essences line? Which one is your favorite? Stay safe!

Product Review: Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner

Monday, April 09, 2012

I'm back! As in for good, the hubby gave his spare time to bring our good 'ol laptop at the repair shop and bought a new hard drive. I have mixed feelings when he told me that it's already fixed. I immediately asked him about the pictures stored in the broken hard drive and he's not sure if our photos can be retrieve. Oh well, I just have to wait and wish my luck. But I'm happy that I can update my blog on a regular basis now that I have "me time" with my laptop. No need to use the old school desktop that sucks bigtime.

If you're a follower of this blog, prolly you know that I already colored my locks more than once.  You can view my previous hair color here  and my current here. I love how my color-treated hair  brightens my face and made me look younger than my age. Since I'm already coloring my hair every three months now, I need to maintain it with the right shampoo and conditioner. After reading reviews and forums on shampoos and conditioners for color- treated hair, I decided to try Clairol Herbal Essences. This brand sounds familiar to those 90's generation kid. I remember their rose botanical variant smells divine and became my shampoo and conditioner during my elementary days! So without hesitation I gave this variant a try. I'm happy that it did not fail me because I'm on my second bottle now.

Now here's my take on Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner
serum infused formula for moisturized softness with Moroccan rose and Passion Fruit, these creamy conditioner will bring out the natural shine and vitality while helping to replenish essential moisturizers.

What I like:
  • attractive packaging, fancy design and contains trivia at the back of the bottle
  • really affordable since one bottle lasted me approximately 2 months
  • the scent is not overpowering

Will I repurchase? Yes! I'm on my second bottle now and will restock on my next haul.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. I got compliments that my hair is healthy and shiny the last time I went to a salon for my pedicure. The hair stylist asked me what kind of treatment I'm using. I told them that I'm just using this conditioner. It's truly a Color Me Happy experience, I highly recommend this product!

HG's Haulin'

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

I've been very busy last two weeks because my father underwent cataract operation and I'm the one responsible getting his laboratory results and cardio-pulmonary clearance. I'm also sleep deprived so my skin is acting up lately and I ran out some of my skin and hair care essentials that's why I need to replenish my stocks. So here's what I got from recent trips to Trinoma where I usually take MRT and purchased my haul.
That's it for now, I'll post my review on Color Me Happy soon. Been thinking of coloring my hair again because the roots are starting to show now. I'm torn between Kao Prettia in Chiffon Beige or Kao Prettia Platinum Beige. I want my hair really light this time bordering from light brown to blonde. Any suggestions? Thanks for sharing!

Good Times!

My First Ever Products Haul

Friday, December 30, 2011

The title says it all. I purchased new products to try like conditioner and hair treatment for my color treated hair plus soap and scrub for my body. I think the size of the conditioner and hair treatment will last me more than two months. I bought the soap because one of its ingredient is organic while the scrub just caught my attention.
L-R: Purbasari Lulur Scrub, Lory's Hair Cream in Snake Oil, Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner, Asian Secrets Bengkoang Soap with Olive Oil
Product reviews to follow after one month of usage. As for the Lory's Hair Cream, a lot of good reviews can be found in the internet so I will just make a quick post about it.

Two more days to go and its 2012. May God continue to shower his blessings and guidance to us. What's your latest haul? Til then!

Good Times!~
