Product Review: Seriously White Glutathione Soap

Sunday, January 20, 2013

I'm an organic soap user for more than 3 years now if I'm not mistaken. When I started my love for organics specially soap bars, I try to veered away from branded soaps sold in the market. Even though there are times that they catch my attention because of the ingredients written on it, I still try to find a way to avoid it. But sometimes my curiosity fangs can't be tamed. The more I tame it, the more I get intrigued with a certain thing which keeps on swirling in my mind and can't sleep thinking about it. So to feed my curiosity, I need to get my hands on it.

Well in the case of this product, I got curious when I saw a brochure at my sister-in-law's room. The direct selling company was new to me so I immediately browse it and saw different skincare and beauty products. Aside from AVON, Splash Corporation- the makers of Maxipeel also ventured on direct selling and this is their mission-vision.

For the past 20 years, Splash Corporation has truly established its name as the expert in beauty and personal care products. Through solid research & development, it has created some of the most innovation & leading brands that made a splash in the market including SkinWhite and Maxi-Peel. Now the beauty expert introduces Splash Direct Sales, a new division dedicated to perfecting the science of beauty and wellness. Enjoy the highest earning opportunities as it launches an exclusive direct selling line of beauty and wellness products that are not just as good as but even better than most retail brands. And because it’s Splash, whether you’re just using these products or also earning from them – your future truly looks more beautiful

When I saw this soap from the brochure, I was discussing to my SIL that I'm having second thoughts of trying new soap again because I don't want to suffer from the negative result it may give. I also read that there's a SUN BURN ALERT written on the packaging. But because of that alert, it also gave me an idea that the soap was very intensive when it comes to whitening. I ignored it that day but when I went back at my SIL's house the next day, she handed me the soap already. I was really hesitant at first but the doubts were replaced with my curiosity. So I accepted it and said to myself may the odds be in my favor :)

I have a confession to make, sometimes I lose my patience on reviewing skin care products. It takes time and so much effort to use a certain product so that I can see the results. I really want to test it for weeks even for months because that's the time when I'll see significant results on my skin and body. It's also like a gamble, you will never know the result. Just try it and see for yourself. But I'm happy because I can share the good and the bad of the product with you. I'm just lucky because most of them gave positive outcome on my skin.

Active Ingredients: Sodium Palmitate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Gluconolactone, Aqua, Fragrance, Potassium Lactate, Niacinamide, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Silicate, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Glutathione, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Ascorbate, Tocopherol, Retinol, Sodium Metabisulfite, Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl p-Cresol, Hydroxypropyl Methycellulose, Tris (Tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) Citrate, BHT, CI 19140, CI 177492, CI77891

What I like:
  • Contains Vitamin B3, Glutathione and AHA- proven to whiten skin.
  • No negative reaction, breakouts or whatsoever.
  • Doesn't melt fast.
  • Affordable for 135g that doesnt melt fast. I'm using this product for more than a month now and it's still solid in shape.
  • Made my skin soft and smooth.
  • Exfoliates well.
  • Has manufacturing and expiry date printed on pagkaging.
What I don't like:
  • I'm not a fan of smell. Commercial brand soaps have this kind of smell that pisses me off.
  • Haven't seen significant changes on my skin tone. I'm fair to begin with and I just want to lighten dark spots caused by mosquito bites on my legs.
  • You need to use sunblock cause the  ingredients like AHA, retinol and some whitening stuff may cause sunburn when exposed to sun. So you have really have to be cautious using this soap.
  • You have to look for a reseller and sometimes, they're 1 in a million. Just kidding! Since Splash direct selling is a newbie compared to AVON, the Splash ladies (if that's the way to call them) are still few.
Will I repurchase? No, there's sooo many brands of soap readily available in leading supermarkets and I'm more into organic now :)

I give this soap a 3.5/5 rating. Use the soap as instructed. Not to be used for sensitive skin. This product contains an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that may increase the skin's sensitivity to sun and the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear a protective clothing and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. So take extra precautions and always follow instructions while using this soap.

Have you tried this soap from Splash? Any thoughts?

Good Times!~

November and December Hauls

Monday, December 31, 2012

Before the year ends, I would like to squeeze in pending posts from my November and December haul. Since I'm on a tipid mode, I only bought few products for the last two months. Some products here are my HG's while some were purchased just to try if they're worth of my tight budget.

Before the Glorietta Vibe fashion show walk, I decided to buy a makeup remover wipes that can melt waterproof mascara without using an eye makeup remover. I think it's more convenient than bringing a bottle of eye makeup remover and cotton balls during the event. I also bought this foot socks and nail polish remover wipes for my feet. The Mondes Ionic Keratin hair treatment was purchased out of curiosity. I'm not happy with the product, I develop pimples and wound like itchy flakes on my scalp. I guess I'm allergic to one of its ingredient but I don't know what to pinpoint :(

Tony Moly Floria Cleansing Tissues
Mondes Ionic Keratin Treatment
Wish Nail Polish Remover
I also bought a back up of my favorite makeup remover wipes- Purederm  just in case my skin will react to Tony Moly Floria makeup remover wipes. This soap was given by my SIL when I visited my parents house. I was surprise when I read the label that it's manufactured by Splash- a local company selling beauty and bath products. But this was only sold through their direct-selling line like that of AVON. So now Splash is also making it's way on direct-selling, let's wait and see if they'll make noise this 2013. You know how I love Asian Secrets, and based on my experience this body scrub already replaced my first love on Abonne. I find this more convenient to use and doesn't hurt my skin if I use the scrub everyday!

Seriously White Gluathione Soap
Purederm Makeup Cleansing Tisuues

My last haul for this year came from Snoe. Yay for new variants: Licorice and Organic Papaya :) I bought these two from a BOGO sale at Cinderella. The SA their informed me that they're having a sale so I grabbed the opportunity. I already reached my third month of using the black bleaching soap so I need to rest my skin from bleaching and use a milder one. When Ms. Jen of Snoe suggested the Special Kojic and Glutathione combo as a substitute for black bleaching I followed her and loving the results!

My sister just gave me this toner to try. At first I was hesitant because I find this toner too strong for my thin skin. But Janet's review of Eskinol convinced me to try this product. Let's see if this product will fare good on my skin.

Snoe White Special Kojic with Glutathione Beauty Bar
