Product Review: Japan Yamashiro Organic Deep Intensive Whitening Soap

Saturday, May 16, 2015

Hi dearies! Here's my honest to goodness review of the soap that I've been using for three weeks now. Even though the soap is dubbed as "See results in 3 minutes" I still make sure that I use it for more than two weeks since there are other effects that I want to see while road-testing the product. I believe that one week is not enough to test a soap, especially whitening ones. I'm already fair to begin with so chances are there will not be a drastic change in the whitening and lightening department.

But a small but promising effect will always matter to me. I'm patient like that with whitening skin care products. I don't judge the product after a week's usage. We have different skin tones, skin care needs and problems so this soap may be effective for me but not to you or vice versa. I've been using the soap for three weeks now, I'm always out in the sun running for errands. Even though I'm armed with umbrella and sunblock, my skin still get burned under the sun. Not only the sweltering heat but the humidity can also cause skin darkening. So this soap is a big help :) See below why!

Product Review:  Japan Yamashiro Organic Deep Intensive Whitening Soap

Product Review:  Japan Yamashiro Organic Deep Intensive Whitening Soap

What I like:
  • It's organic!
  • The price is affordable since it will really last more than a month. If you'll do the math it's around 8 PHP/day.
  • The scent is not overpowering. It has a subtle sweet scent.
  • The soap is mild. No stinging sensation during the required time that the soap's lather should be left on the skin.
  • It produces a good lather.
  • My skin feels squeaky clean after each bath.
  • EXFOLIATES VERY WELL!
  • No irritation, breakouts, allergies, or whatsoever.
  • The soap doesn't melt fast despite the hot weather.
  • My skin is soft and smooth to touch after use.
  • It made my skin even toned even if I'm always out in the sun running errands. It's a no joke that I always feel like I'm getting fried whenever I walk in the streets around 12 in the afternoon.
  • It lightens my wound scar a bit after three weeks of use.

What I don't like:
  • Not easily accessible.
  • Doesn't have batch, manufacturing and expiry date.
  • No English translation of the product information.

Will I repurchase? Yes!

Recommendation:
I give this soap a 4.5/5 rating. I like the soap's exfoliating powers! I can see dead skin cells big time every bath. As for the texture, the soap is economical to use as it doesn't melt fast or should I say no melting at all in the soap dish despite the hot weather unlike other organic whitening soaps in the market today.

Always use the soap as instructed. Since I've only consumed a bar of Japan Yamashiro Organic Deep Whitening Soap, the whitening effect on my fair skin tone is not drastic but with continued use I'm sure that my blemishes will fade one step at a time. I've seen a lightening on my small knee scar and that's a wonderful result in as fast as three weeks. The soap leaves a powdery feel after use too so my skin is really soft and smooth to to touch. I highly recommend this soap. Yes, it worked for me :)

Have you tried Japan Yamashiro Organic Deep Intensive Whitening Soap already?

Good Times!~

Product Review: Mischka Derma Secret Micro Peel Soap

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Hello dearies! Sharing with you another review of skin care product from Mishka Derma Secret. For those of you who want to remove minor skin discoloration and surface residue, this soap from the brand might work for you. It's my first micro peeling soap review and three weeks ago I started using it everyday. Because this is a micro peel soap, I'm expecting it to be harsh on the skin and will require me to stay at home since the skin will be very sensitive when exposed to sun rays.

To be honest, I'm having second thoughts if I'll use the soap or not because based on what I've seen with my cousin who had a body peeling sessions, the skin will literally fall off, shed in big or small pieces. Since I trust Mischka Derma Secret, I gave it a shot. I said to myself that it's just a MICRO PEEL SOAP so I should expect a minimal and not so visible peeling. Anyhoo, click CONTINUE READING to know more about the soap :)

Product Review: Physiogel Cleanser

Friday, February 20, 2015

When Kenzo was still a baby, I'm delighted to touch his soft, smooth, and supple skin. He had no other skin-related problems or pediatric skin infections that some mothers always complain. I make that I use gentle, fragrance-free cleansers, soaps and body wash. I'm loyal to a famous brand of baby soap and body wash until last year when the soap and the body wash wasn't able to deliver its promise in their gently cleanses without drying the skin battle cry.

Anyhoo, I'm not ditching that brand. I think it's because the weather is erratic and colder months made Kenzo's skin extra dry than the usual. After taking a bath, I can see him scratching his legs while complaining that it started to itch. When I touched his legs, it feels tight and looks rough. Dry skin it is! I did not worry because I have the solution on how to combat dry skin. PHYSIOGEL Cleanser to the rescue! I have stocks of this hypoallergenic skin care line. From cleansers to cream and lotions, glad that I have kept a few bottles inside my closet. The products was given as a token from previous events that I've attended. So without further ado, here's my honest to goodness review of PHYSIOGEL Cleanser as per Kenzo's experience :) Click CONTINUE READING and discover how to make skin less sensitive and dry.

Product Review: Skin Beautanicals Organic Arbutin Soap with Argan Oil

Monday, January 19, 2015

I've been suffering from dry and flaky skin for months now. It started last December because of the cold weather. I'm used to this condition and I'm sure that I'm not alone. The colder the weather, the drier the skin because the humidity level (moisture in the air) tends to be lower than the usual during cold months. So it's not an excuse to ditch the moisturizers even if you have normal skin/oily skin types during cold months cause your skin will be needing it too.

Aside from creams and lotions that contain moisturizers, we also need to look for a soap or body wash that will help lock in moisture in our skin after taking a bath. Beauty oils are in the limelight of skin care nowadays. From rosehips-tea tree-grapeseed-olive-jojoba-sunflower-camellia-marula to argan oil, name it and I'm sure beauty gurus around the globe have tried a couple of them. Morrocan Argain Oil is the "liquid gold" for dry hair and dry skin. Skin Beautanicals by Jianne Skin Essentials sent me their Organic Arbutin Soap with Argan Oil to try and after using the soap for more than a month, I'm ready to share my thoughts about it. Product Review: Dial Coconut Water Soap and Body Wash

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

Hello dearies! Before 2014 ends, I would like to share with you another review of skin care products that made into the fambam's essentials. If you love reading my soap reviews I presume you already know that I don't like strong scented soaps. I have very sensitive nose and overpowering scent tends to make me nauseous inside the bathroom. Anyhoo, I received a couple of body bars and body washes from Dial Philippines. They made a big comeback this last quarter and took social media by storm. I mean, everyone's raving this household brand's new variant and almost all who received full-sized samples from AMPR fell in love with the sweet scent of coconut water.

To tell you honestly, I'm so sad that I wasn't able to stand the sweet scent of Dial Coconut Water soap, I find it too strong BUT the hubby and my siblings soo liking both. If it's possible for you to visit our house and my parents house, I'm pretty sure you'll see Dial Coconut Water Soap inside our bathrooms :) So this review will be based on the hubby's experience about the soap. He already finished 2 body bars and 1 body wash :) To know more about the products, click CONTINUE READING please!

Product Review: Glupa Glutathione+Papaya Soap

Thursday, December 04, 2014

I've tried a lot of whitening soaps sold in the market today. If you're a lurker in this blog, prolly you know that I've switched to organic soaps for the sake of my sensitive skin. I'm fair already, to begin with, whitening soaps either lighten skin blemishes that I get from pimple marks, insect bites or minor wounds like paper cut or from unconsciously scratching my skin while sleeping. I use whitening soap to maintain or even out my skin tone because there are times that I'm always out running errands in the afternoon. A change in a tone like one shade lighter is a bonus for me and it only means that the soap is very effective. For reference, I'm NC 15-20 in MAC.

Anyhoo, I was invited by Age Defy Solutions the makers of Glupa products to an intimate gathering of beauty bloggers months ago. They gave us full-sized samples of their skin care products to try. The first product that I'm giddy to road test was the Glupa soap. I got intrigued with this whitening soap because the endorser is Boy Abunda. It is also a whitening soap that contains a powerful combination of glutathione and papaya. After a month of using the soap, here's my honest to goodness review of Glupa (Glutathione + Papaya) soap. Click CONTINUE READING and find out my experience.

Product Review: Olay Natural White Bar

Monday, November 10, 2014

Having fair skin from face to body is still a desire amongst many Filipinas. Younger females will do anything just to achieve skin that is fairer than their current state. A whitening soap is a starting point for women in their journey to whiter skin. There are so many whitening bar soaps products available these days, and some that might even come with other unwanted effects such as rough and patchy skin, or tingling / burning sensation. But, natural and healthy fairness is not just about the tone of your skin. You also need to have skin that’s smooth and even toned.

I've tried so many whitening soap and each has its own characteristics. But the most effective variants of whitening soap in the market are those containing papaya extract and vitamin c to name a few. I'm happy that one of the trusted brand in skin care came up with their own whitening body bars that promises not only whiter skin but healthy and glowing too!

Olay is the World’s # 1 Facial Skincare brand. It is an internationally renowned and premium skin care brand that is trusted by millions of women worldwide. It’s also #1 in the Philippines! I'm sure you've seen these soaps in the grocery shelves and fret not because the price is very affordable! To know more about Olay Natural White Bar, click CONTINUE READING.

Product Review: Mischka Derma Secret Calamansi with Honey Soap

Tuesday, November 04, 2014

Hi all! I still have pending soap reviews and I want to make sure that I give my 100% percent experience before saying my thoughts. Mischka Derma Secret sent me their Calamansi with Honey Soap not for a review but for me to just try. The owner of Mischka Derma Secret is so generous and kind that she wanted me to try their products and just share a feedback if I like it or not. Since I like most of their soaps, I think that it deserves a space on my blog :)

One of my favorite soap from the brand is their Calamansi with honey soap. It's another whitening soap that contains only few ingredients but I'm not after the whitening effect of the soap because I'm more on the glow and moisturizing part now because my skin tends to get dry on colder months. I'm so happy to say that Mischka Derma Secret Calamansi soap made my skin glowing and healthy looking. To know more about the soap, click CONTINUE READING please :)

Product Review: Mischka Derma Secret Kojic with Placenta Soap

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

Being a soap junkie, I'm always on the lookout for new variants of soap available in the market today be it commercially produced or handmade ones. As of the moment, I still have four different kinds of soap for review. I'm very excited to use them all because it contains mostly natural ingredients that promises to make the skin smooth, young and glowing.

If you're a fan of whitening soaps, I'm sure you already know kojic acid. It is one of the most famous/effective whitening ingredient in the market today together with glutathione, alpha arbutin and placenta. I've made several reviews of whitening soaps with kojic acid before and I find this variant effective depending on the length of usage. Kojic acid soap can be drying that's why some brands combine it with other moisturizing ingredients that will combat dryness. One combination that I can say will give less dryness to the skin is kojic placenta. Placenta is known to be an anti-aging ingredient and makes the skin smooth and glowing. Our friends from Mishcka Derma Secret sent me their Kojic with Placenta soap two months ago. I just finished using this bar last week and now I'm ready to share my thoughts about this combination. Click CONTINUE READING to find out.

Product Review: Snow Skin Whitening Soap

Sunday, August 03, 2014

Not all soaps are created equal. I'm not sure how many whitening soaps I've already tried but I'm always sure that promising and effective soaps will always be a mainstay in my bath essentials. There are so many whitening soaps in the market today, I'm sure you're confused which one to choose. But if you're the curious and adventurous type, prolly you already know the most effective ingredients that a whitening soap contains. There's a new player in town, Snow Skin Whitening Soap from the makers of Snowcaps L-Glutathione Whitening Supplement. This soap is not the usual glutathione, alpha arbutin, and kojic acid combination that's known to be the most popular whitening actives in the market today. It contains 7 Plant Extracts from Swiss Alps that will ensure a radiant clear complexion and younger looking skin.

When I received this soap months ago from Vidanutriscience, I got curious after reading the information at the back of this flip top box. Even though it doesn't have the three powerful whitening ingredients in the market today, it has Gigawhite and anti-oxidant complex like Vitamin C, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Vitamin B3 together with the 7 Plant extracts. Exciting right? To know more about the soap click CONTINUE READING and find out if it's a yay or a nay. Product Review: Natura Organics Himalayan Mud 21-in-1 Soap

Monday, July 21, 2014

If my memory serves me right, three years ago I had a hatred feeling against a certain black soap. It's not the black bleaching bar that I've tried from one of the famous brand of organic skin care products in our country today. Yes, it's a face and body soap that left a terrible effect on my face. The thing that irks me most is that it's organic. I have high expectations on that soap because before I get hold of it, I've seen positive reviews on their website and some beauty blogs. I really never expected that the "good" would turn so bad as in so so bad in my case.

So to end a long story short, after that experience I veered away from that brand. If you're adventurous with soaps I'm sure you can guess what kind of soap I'm saying here. I will not mention the brand, past is past and I've buried that sad experience. But today, I want to share a good news  :) I never thought that my fear of using a black-colored soap with ingredients that I'm not familiar with will turn into a delight. I think I want to rejoice because I've tried a black soap that didn't burn my face (this was the terrible effect that I have mentioned above) and made my skin healthy looking. Excited to find out why I'm raving a black soap today? Click CONTINUE READING to see my thoughts on Natura Organics Himalayan Mud 21-in-1 Soap :)

Product Review: COSMO Skin Kojic + Alpha Arbutin Soap

Saturday, November 02, 2013

I was delighted to see more than one variant of Cosmo Skin whitening soaps in the market today. More variants means more choices! Each variant is produced to meet specific skin care needs specially in the whitening department so for those who have a very sensitive skin, fret not because you can still use a lightening, whitening or brightening soap that will not aggravate your skin condition. It's very hard to choose a variant if you just consider whitening itself because there are other ingredients that are combined to the soap that will target specific skin care needs.

During the Cosmo Skin Event, I saw four variants of their whitening soap. I'm already familiar with the two (green and maroon box) because that was the first two variants that's sold locally at Watsons. When they introduced these two: Kojic + Alpha Arbutin and Collagen + Papaya, my eyes were glued on the first rather than the later because I'm a fan of kojic soaps and this variant also has Alpha Arbutin. To those who are new to Alpha Arbutin, it's one of the three powerful whitening ingredients in the world of soap today. It's widely used in soaps, face creams and lotions together with glutathione and kojic acid. So if the soap have these three, it's a surefire way that the product will deliver what it promises- lighter and even complexion. For those wondering while until now I'm using whitening soaps even if I'm fair enough to start with, then my answer would be maintenance and to even out my skin tone. Fair-skinned individuals like me would easily get burned in the sun with long hours of exposure. That's why I still need these soaps and the most important tandem to this are sunblocks! Product Review: Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap

Friday, October 11, 2013

Hello dearies! Have you joined my 2nd Year Anniversary Giveaway yet? If not join HERE! I’m very excited to share this review because it’s one of the organic brands in the market today that offers promising natural products for the hair, skin, face and body. I already reviewed one of their soap- The Papaya Kojic and I highly recommend this organic whitening soap for individuals with sensitive skin. If you missed the review just click HERE. Now I’m going to share my thoughts on another variant of soap from Be Organic Bath and Body, this time it’s their whitening and anti-aging soap- The Papaya Bearberry. Does one of the ingredients sound new to you? I guess you’ll answer yes. Actually the bearberry is not that new to me, I already tried another brand of soap with bearberry extract but it is combined with other fruit extracts too. This time it’s combined only with Papaya so the combination is new to me. What exactly is Bearberry extract?
Bearberry extract is made from the leaves of the bearberry plant. It is commonly used as an astringent in cosmetic preparations and skin care products. Astringents are cleansers that remove dirt and oil from the skin's pores. It is also used as a lightening agent to fade freckles or skin discoloration which may be caused by sun damage or hormonal conditions.
And because I’m already 30 years old, I give more importance to anti-aging. I’m already fair to begin with so it’s less of importance for me to get fairer, just even skin tone will do. This variant of soap is another lemming from the brand because when I saw it at Sesou I told myself to buy it next time I'll visit the store. But to my surprise Ms. Cheryl of Be Organic Bath and Body send samples of their products. I'm one happy kid! The moment I received the package, I opened the soap and used it right away. Excited to know my experience about the soap? Here it is, my honest to goodness review of Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap
Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap
This handmade soap has the highest and purest ingredients that whiten and nourish skin. Contains papaya enzyme which reduces dark spots from acne, blackheads and pimples. Combined with Bearberry extract, one of the most powerful skin lighteners.

Product Review: COSMO Skin Exfoliant Soap

Sunday, September 29, 2013

It's nice to see how Cosmo Skin upgraded their beauty and skin care products. Some five years ago they just started from one variant of soap and two kinds of skin care supplements. I've tried their whitening soap (Cosmo Skin Glutathione and Arbutin Soap) before venturing into organic ones. I can say it's cost effective and if you're really serious in making your skin lighter, then Cosmo Skin is for you. I'm fair skinned to begin with but using the soap that I've mentioned above made my fair skin more even toned and smoother. If you'll ask me why I stopped using the soap, then my hormones got to be blamed and organic skin care soaps became my life saver. Switching to natural skin care products doesn't mean that it'll give you good results forever. Like in my case, there were times that my skin got immune to my favorite organic brands too. What I do is to alternate all my HG soaps and when there's a new brand to try, I take time to read the labels and dare to use it without a doubt. If I see a negative reaction after three uses, I stop using it.

Remember my post about the Cosmo Skin bfpc The Beauty Event? If not click HERE. I was very privilege to attend that event because it rekindles my love for Cosmo Skin. They we're very generous to give the media a token of skin care products and supplements. This soap was included inside the paper bag full of wonderful products. I've been using four of them as of the moment. I already reviewed their Collagen Hand and Body Cream HERE and boy, it's very effective! So without further ado, here's another product from Cosmo Skin. Product Review: Kojie San kontur Cellulite Control Soap

Sunday, August 25, 2013

This review has been sitting on my blog bin for more than 6 months now. I totally forgot about this soap from Kojie San. When I bough this soap last February, I told my self to keep this as a secret. I'm a bit shy to tell my friends that I'm using a soap to reduce the appearance of my cellulites. I presume everyone knows what cellulite is? Well, according to Medical News Today:
Cellulite is a condition in which the skin appears to have areas with underlying fat deposits, giving it a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It is most noticeable on the buttocks and thighs, and usually occurs after puberty.
Cellulite is also known as adiposis edematosa, dermopanniculosis deformans, status protrusus cutis, and gynoid lipodystrophy in the medical field and as orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, hail damage, and the mattress phenomenon in colloquial language.
Cellulite is often classified using three grades:Grade 1 cellulite sees no clinical symptoms, but a microscopic examination of cells from the area detects underlying anatomical changes.Grade 2 cellulite requires the skin to show pallor (pastiness), be lower temperature, and have decreased elasticity, in addition to anatomical changes noted by microscopic examinations.Grade 3 cellulite has visible roughness of the skin (like an orange peel) along with all grade 2 signs.Although cellulite can affect both sexes, it is much more common in females, mainly because they are more likely to have particular types of fat and connective tissue.
What causes cellulite? The causes of cellulite are not well understood, but there are several theories that have been put forth as explanations. Among these are:
  • Hormonal factors - hormones likely play an important role in cellulite development. Many believe estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin are part of the cellulite production process.
  • Genetics - certain genes are required for cellulite development. Genes may predispose an individual to particular characteristics associated with cellulite, such as gender, race, slow metabolism, distribution of fat just underneath the skin, and circulatory insufficiency.
  • Diet - people who eat too much fat, carbohydrates, or salt and too little fiber are likely to have greater amounts of cellulite.
  • Lifestyle factors - cellulite may be more prevalent in smokers, those who do not exercise, and those who sit or stand in one position for long periods of time.
  • Clothing - underwear with tight elastic across the buttocks (limiting blood flow) may contribute to the formation of cellulite.
Kojie San kontur Cellulite Control Soap
is a special bath soap formulated with natural marine derived extracts that effectively reduce the appearance of unsightly cellulite and unwanted curves.

Product Review: iWhite Glutaberry White Soap

Sunday, April 28, 2013

A blessed Sunday to all of you dearies! Time flies very fast! 2 more days and we're entering another month of festivities. I think May is the month wherein different harvesting festivals happen in our country. It's another way of celebrating summer and joining different outdoor activities means long sun exposure. Are you afraid of getting dark? We all know that a good sunscreen and sunblock can solve this dilemma but still we're not sure if our skin will be really protected from head to toe. From this comes another concern like uneven skin tone. How do you deal with uneven tone and rough skin texture? Well, If you're still looking for a solution let me introduce to you this whitening soap that will help you achieve lighter and even skin tone while preventing pre-mature aging and wrinkling.

We all know that whitening soaps in the market today contains more than one whitening agent. If you're going to choose a specific variant of soap I'm sure you'll get the one packed with the most whitening ingredients available. Why settle for 2 if you can get 3 or more? Am I right or right? So when iWhite Korea sent this whitening soap, I was surprised when I read the ingredients and found out "Mulberry Extract" If my memory serves me right, this is the first time I encounter a natural lightening agent called Mulberry. I've tried so many whitening soaps before, generic and organic ones but this one seems very different and special. If you're current whitening/lightening soap doesn't do the job that it promises, then it's time to try iWhite Glutaberry White Soap. Click CONTINUE to find out if this soap is the answer to an even skin tone that you're longing for.

What I like:
  • The price- very affordable for a 90g product.
  • Suitable for Men and Women- hubby loves using this soap too :)
  • I like the color of the packaging, I have this thing for black and pink combination.
  • Doesn't melt fast, doesn't break or deform its shape even up to the last bits.
  • Contains Glutathione, Kojic Acid and Mulberry Extract that's proven to lighten and even-out skin tone. Talk about 3 whitening ingredients in 1 bar of soap :)
  • Makes my skin soft and smooth.
  • Hubby's skin became a bit even especially on his arms.
  • The whole bar lasted me more than a month.
  • No irritation and stinging.
  • This soap helped me maintain my skin tone (I'm always outside the house between 10 am and 3 pm doing errands)
  • Batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the package.
  • Easily available and accessible.
What I don't like:
  • Again, soap with powder and floral scent is a bit overpowering to me. My nose doesn't agree to it :(
  • A little dryness which I guess will always be present after using whitening soaps.
Will I repurchase? Yes,  especially for the hubby who really needs to even out his skin tone.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4/5 rating. A cost effective whitening soap that really works! If you still haven't considered organic soaps as your new companion in terms of whitening, then I highly recommend this soap to you. I love organic whitening soaps but this one is very promising. It contains more than one whitening agents (Kojic Acid, Mulberry and Glutathione) so instead of buying them separately, you can have them in just one bar. I can say that using this religiously soap for more than a month will give you a lighter, smooth and blemish free skin.
