UNIQLO x LEMAIRE Collection Now Available

     Dressing for the holiday season can be tricky here in our country. We have an erratic weather and sometimes it's unpredictable. For a country like ours, the type of clothes we wear should be in tune with the season. One store that offers a wide range of life wear- UNIQLO is already set to give us comfortable fashion pieces that's easy to mix and match.

      I was invited to the launch of UNIQLO's special collection weeks ago at The Mega Fashion Hall. This is the last collection of the year and it is a collaboration with French designer LEMAIRE. Even though the collection is dubbed as luxury wear, I can say that most of the pieces can be easily paired with basics. Select UNIQLO stores now carry special collections only in its large stores in Metro Manila – SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Aura and SM Mall of Asia. These branches have the widest and most complete selection of apparels for women, men, kids and babies. The stores carry limited-edition pieces from international brands and designer collaborations such as DISNEY Magic for All, Ines De La Fressange, and UNIQLO’s most recent partnership with French fashion designer Christophe Lemaire.      During the launch, my eyes were glued on the plaid skirts and the basic tees on display. Some of the pieces that were on display are so me. I like wearing basics because it's very easy to mix and match but the pieces from the collection have touches of luxury and elegance perfect not only for everyday wear but can also be key pieces in office or party outfit.

Promil Pre-School and ABS-CBN Launch I-Shine Online Talent Camp

     Hi moms and dad! Have you heard the latest news from Promil Pre-School? Raise your hands if you do coz they're back and ready to search for lil kids who will shine brightly showcasing their talents and skills online. Promil Pre-School I-Shine Kapamilya host Dimples Romana is back together with the mentor for Visual Arts Xian Lim and new mentor for Performing Arts Karylle to search for kids who have the potential to shine with their talents through Promil Pre-School I-Shine’s latest online talent camp beginning October 5.

     For its fourth season, Promil Pre-School and ABS-CBN are bringing the talent search closer to more parents and their children by launching the first online talent camp (www.ishine.abs-cbn.com) to encourage and help mothers to nurture and develop their children’s gifts through comprehensive workshops.

     This year, the talent camp expands as workshops will now include lessons in both Performing Arts (singing, dancing, acting, music), and Visual Arts (painting, drawing, crafting). 

     “A mom’s role is always important. My mom is my shining light and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her, that’s why launching Promil Pre-School I-Shine as an online talent camp is a great idea because this will be more accessible to more moms and they can be more involved in nurturing the talents of their kids,” Visual Arts mentor Xian Lim shared.

     To join the online talent camp, moms need to register and choose where to enroll their kids, whether performing arts or visual arts in the website (www.ishine.abs-cbn.com).

     Once enrolled in the online course, moms and kids will have the chance to watch and learn from video lessons each week taught by celebrity mentors Karylle, John Prats, and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo for Performing Arts and Xian Lim, Agot Isidro, and Christina Dy for Visual Arts.

     Promil Pre-School I-Shine talent camp will have weekly video challenges for students in line with the workshop, which will serve as their audition videos. 

     Students who will emerge as the Promil Pre-School I-Shine online talent camp champions (one winner per category) will be chosen by the mentors and will win a cash prize, a roster of TV guest appearances, and a contract with ABS-CBN’s Chicken Pork Adobo, among others.

     The Promil Pre-School I-Shine Talent Camp aims to help exceptionally talented preschoolers develop their full potential. It is the product of Promil Pre-School’s advocacy in developing Filipino children’s talents with the help of their parents, proper care, and proper nutrition.

     This online talent camp is on-going already and I'm sure that everyone is excited to enroll their children. I'm encouraging parents to try this new kind of online contest because there will be task every week and this will help your child hone their talents and skills plus there will lots of fun and learning waiting. Cotton USA New Brand Identity Re-launch

     Last June 26, Cotton Council International (CCI), the marketing and promotions arm of United States Cotton industry had a relaunch of its 26-year old flagship brand, COTTON USA. I presume you already know this brand as you've seen it in the tags and labels of your clothes. Wearing COTTON USA made clothes is perfect for our humid weather. It's relaxing and revitalizing to wear. Wearing cotton has benefits that the whole family would surely love. 

     Since 1898, over 50,000 product lines and 3 billion products have proudly carried the name COTTON USA. Here in our country, the COTTON USA Mark was introduced to garment manufacturers and consumers in 1994. I'm on my elementary years that time and if my memory serves me right, we bought undershirts and half slips with COTTON USA mark as part of my daily uniform. Beyond Thailand, he also travels to meet with and assist trade partners and users of U.S. cotton in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam.

Cotton is non-irritating, soft and comfortable, absorbent- keeps sweat away from skin, breathable, durable- easy to wash and care compared to other fabrics, affordable, and biodegradable.

     Sharing also with you these Laundry Tips for Cotton Garments and Home Textiles so you'll know how to properly take good care of your cotton fabrics at your home:

1. Follow care-label instructions properly.
2. Sort. Keep whites, darks, brights and medium colors separate.
3. Denim, curdoroy and canvas go in a cool wash; lighter colors and materials go in warm water.
4. Pre-treat stains before you wash to prevent them from setting.
5. Don't overload! Leave space for your clothing and detergent to move freely in the washing machine.
6. Keep your brights vibrant by turning clothing inside out before washing.
7. Dry just long enough to remove wrinkles and moisture. If left in too long the heat can actually set wrinkles, increase static cling and cause shrinkage.

     Happy Holidays! I'm so excited to share with you the latest collection from SM Kids' Fashion. I was invited to SM Kids' Fashion 2014 Collection Launch last November 20 at SM Aura to get the first dibs on what's in for our little kiddos this season. Aside from the launch, the event also showcased SM Kids' Fashion Wishing Tree where the press and media present during the event wrote their wishes for Christmas.      Ah shopping! The ultimate stress reliever for women, do you agree? Women loves to shop and when the word S-A-L-E comes to our mind, there's joy and excitement in us that's going to explode anytime. I always say to myself that I'm on a shopping ban but when I see the word sale on posters and banners, I turned into an amnesiac and it's like I'm on a magic spell. That's the reason why I'm here today and share with you my experience on one of the crazy sale that I've been to. SM City Sta. Mesa 3-Day Sale was the biggest sale in my entire sale-shopping-experience! The first day of sale was Valentine's Day and boy oh boy, I've seen how shopper's rummage into piles of different clothes, bags, shoes and other stuff that were 50-70% off the price tag! It's really an amazing experience. 

     Three days before the sale, I said to myself that I'll just buy basic clothes for my son since it's also my mission to cover the sale that day. I just brought my shoulder bag with me just to make sure that I'll stick to my plan. But when I reached SM City Sta. Mesa and passed by the department store, I saw shoppers going gaga over sale items. I got curious and said to myself I'll be in a shopping coma few minutes from now.
