UNIQLO Sport Utility Wear Collection Launch

Saturday, January 25, 2020

In my recent post, I shared my intentions this 2020 and it focuses on my health and overall well-being. It has been six months since I started eating clean and going to the gym for my Yoga and Pilates classes. I struggled in the first three months, almost gave up but I'm serious about changing unhealthy habits for a healthy lifestyle. What keeps me going? The support from my husband, family, and friends and my workout essentials like a mat, water bottle, and gym clothes.

Speaking of clothes, wearing proper exercise attire or outfit motivates you to keep going and move without limits. It's an investment that you'll be wearing four to five times a week and will be a part of your wardrobe. Nowadays, sportswear is your best friend if you love to wear comfortable clothes. It can be your outfit going to school, office, or casual and social occasions. Welcome the Athleisure trend and UNIQLO has launched its Sport Utility Wear collection, a lineup that introduces a new type of clothing that can smoothly transition from sports to casual wear, seamlessly integrating sportswear features into everyday apparel.

Choosing the Right Outfit for a Special Occasion

Monday, April 10, 2017

If you have a special occasion to attend like a garden party, a corporate event or a wedding, you want to look your best. Of course, that means going out and buying a nice outfit. It is a great chance to spend a little extra money, and buy something special. You are looking for the type of outfit you would never get the chance to wear otherwise.

Dressing for special occasions in the Spring / Summer season is far easier than it is to find an outfit for an event in the winter or autumn. Generally speaking, in the summer, you have more options. For example, you can choose to wear a strappy sandal or a pair of closed in shoes. Both options work equally as well. Of course, in the winter, it would be too cold to wear open footwear, but there are always plenty of nice court shoes available.

Choosing the Right Outfit for a Special Occasion

A touch of luxury

When buying for a special occasion it is always a good idea to try to buy something that is made from rich fabrics. Most of us do not wear silk, satin or lace in our everyday lives, which keeps them special. Rich fabrics like these look fantastic, feel good against the skin, and because they are heavier, garments made from them tend to hang well.

Tap into the theme

If the event you are attending has a theme, bear it in mind when you are buying your outfit. This will help to inspire you and ensure that you buy something that blends in and works well for the special occasion you are attending.

Follow the dress code

For some events there is a dress code, which you should always read before you go shopping. It is usually wise to follow the rules. Sometimes, not doing so could lead to your being denied entry.

Get the tone of your outfit right

If the event is a traditional one, for example an awards ceremony or something like one of The Queen’s garden parties you need to get the tone of your outfit right too. The best way to do this is to look at photos of the last few years’ events, and take your cue from those.

Get the fit right

For a special occasion, you should always shop well in advance. This gives you the time to try everything on together and address any issues. If something needs altering it can easily take a couple of weeks for your seamstress to do the work and get the item back to you.

Accessorise carefully

Perhaps the most important aspect of shopping for an occasion outfit is getting the accessories right. Little touches like having items like fascinators dyed to match the rest of your accessories can make all the difference to your overall look.

Most women get their hair done on the day, but rarely consider getting their makeup done professionally as well. If you can afford it, and time allows, this is well worth doing, so you can achieve a flawless look. Sometimes employing a makeup artist works out cheaper than buying a set of new makeup products for the special event.

Robinsons Department Store Go Lokal! Store

Tuesday, April 04, 2017

When was the last time you brought something Filipino? Products that will fall under the category "proudly made in the Philippines?" I'm guilty of not patronizing Philippine-made products and the last time I bought one was years ago not for myself but for my cousins who live abroad.

Robinsons Department Store, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) opened last week the first Go Lokal! store in Robinsons Place Manila. You will find local products ranging from bags, accessories, t-shirts, shoes, accessories, decors and displays, and many novelty items that are proudly Pinoy. More details on Robinsons Department Store Go Lokal after the jump :)

Buying Clothes for Your Man

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

If you are looking for a gift for the man in your life, clothes could be the perfect answer. Gone are the days when most men could fit all of the clothing that they owned into a large suitcase.

These days, most men like to shop just as much as their partners do. They want to look good and are more than prepared to invest time and money in doing so. As a result, they really appreciate receiving clothing gifts.

The only problem is that buying clothes for other people is not easy. Getting it right takes practice. To help you to get it right I have put together this simple guide.
