I can survive a day or two without shampoo but never without conditioner! If you're a long time reader of this blog, I'm sure you already knew that I don't shampoo my hair everyday that's why I often ran out of conditioner than shampoo. My hair is color-treated most of the time, it has thin strands and limp volume. Sometimes it's unruly and frizzy but when I found out the right kind of conditioner for my hair, all the woes I said above were already solved!

I'm proud to say that Pantene is one of my favorite conditioner. When they released the color and perm line, I decided to road test the product and see if this will made my color-treated hair vibrant and shiny. I was also featured as one of the girls who have tried the color and perm line at Cosmopolitan Magazine. See the review and feature HERE.

I received a box full of Pantene hair care products and it contains the three variants of Pantene shampoos and conditioners. First time to see the aqua pure line and seeing the word PURE irked the curiosity in me. But for this feature, let me share with you the #BEAUTIFULSCIENCE behind World's No.1 Conditioner brand, Pantene. Click CONTINUE READING and watch the video please :)

Thursday, January 16, 2014

If you think shampooing your hair everyday is the solution to fight frizz and dryness, then think again! Conditioners are life savers, for me and for my hair. I honestly can't live without conditioner. If I can count the days that I've washed my hair with my favorite shampoos, methinks applying conditioner everyday not only once but sometimes twice will be very hard to track using numbers. Yes, I can say I'm a conditioner addict :) If you have damaged, dry and frizzy hair and you skip conditioner everyday, chances are you're missing a very important step in treating your hair troubles.

Product Review: Vidal Sassoon Premium Color Care Conditioner

Monday, December 30, 2013

Hello dearies! I want to share with you today another review of an amazing hair care product that's been around since I was in high school. I can still remember those times when my mom and I always include Vidal Sassoon shampoo and conditioner in our shopping cart. I forgot the variant that we're using before but I swear that it really delivers in giving our hair the healthy shine it needs. I have a shoulder length virgin black hair before and most of my mom's girlfriends asked me what's the secret in keeping my hair shiny and healthy. My mom recommended them Vidal Sassoon and that time I think this brand of shampoo was regarded as one of the best selling in the market.

Thanks to Sample Room for giving us a full-sized sample of the conditioner from premium color care line. I was very lucky to grab a hold of both shampoo and conditioner because the stocks run out already the minute after I got my sample. Good thing they restocked on both premium base and color care line so if you still have points at Sample Room do check and grab your own samples now!

I'm very happy that the brand that we love came back with a vengeance of making hair salon like ready while using at home! The first thing I noticed was the packaging and the color of the bottle. It's unique, sexy and fierce! No wonder why most of the women that I saw passing by the Vidal Sassoon shelves in one of the supermarket that I went to last time were enticed to hold the bottle and read the label. Are you excited to read my thoughts about the conditioner? My hair is color-treated so the premium color care conditioner is the right type of product for my hair. Press Release: L'Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3x

Saturday, July 06, 2013

Many women suffer from hair fall. I experience this problem once in a while and it's really embarrassing. I've tried different shampoos and conditioners but only a few of them actually works. If you experience having fragile hair and occasional hair fall, L'Oreal research has identified 3 major causes of hair fall:
  • Hair Malnutrition- Hair growth is programmed and controlled at the hair roots. When the roots are malnourished, the hair grows without essential nutrients becoming weak and underdeveloped.
  • Root Fragility- Starting at the root, the diameter of the hair fiber is below average, which makes it more likely to break
  • Fiber Damage- Disruption of the hair's cuticle, which acts as a shield for hair, leads to hair being significantly more vulnerable to external aggression.

Watsons + SNOE Beauty Haul

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Hello there! Just a quick haul post for today. I asked Kenzo to watch Little Einsteins from the TV so I'm here typing faster than the usual because I told him this: mommy will borrow the laptop, count 1-10! Hehehe! So last weekend I went shopping to replenish my bath essentials and look what I found at Watsons, a charcoal toothbrush! My toothbrush brand is Colgate but the charcoal thing-y caught my attention so I decided to buy it and see what's the difference from the regular bristles. I ran out of conditioner and my plan was to try the Dove conditioner for color-treated hair. I haven't seen this variant before and I'm not sure if it's available here already. My cousin mentioned it to me a month ago. I tried looking for it at Watsons and Sm supermarket but I found none. My second option was Color Me Happy but it's OOS so my last resort was Pure Beauty Treatment Conditioner and it's my 2nd bottle now.

Since I'm very busy lately and have no time to book for an appointment at my fave waxing salon, I just bought this hair removal paper and use the remaining Strip It wax that I won from a giveaway. I ran out of facial wipes and the aloe vera variant was OOS so I opted for the green tea instead.

Product Review: Pure Beauty Treatment Conditioner

Friday, August 03, 2012

Hi loves! I think it's time to share my thoughts about this great hair product that is reasonably priced. I've known Pure Beauty Treatment shampoo and conditioner last year through GT forums and most ladies who tried it said that this is Shiseido Tsubaki shampoo and conditioner counterparts. I know that Shiseido's price tag was expensive for a cheapskate like me and I need to look for a cheaper alternative. Last year when I saw that Pure Beauty Treatment shampoo was on sale at Watsons I never hesitated and bought it immediately. I wanted to buy both the shampoo and conditioner but the SA said that the latter sells like hot pancakes. It's always out of stock. I admit that I had a hard time looking for this conditioner. It took months before I saw it on the shelves again.

I already found my HG conditioner Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy that made my color-treated hair more healthy, shiny and vibrant. But I still wanted to try this conditioner because of the positive results that I read from beauty bloggers. So after three weeks of using this conditioner I've found another HG that I can use alternately with Color Me Happy conditioner. Wanna know why? Read more to see my full review.
Pure Beauty Treatment Conditioner is enriched with Camellia Seed Oil from Japan to help nourish and repair dry and damage hair. It also helps to strengthen each strand of hair, improving its elasticity for smoother and more manageable hair with an exceptional shine.

Classy bottle, I love the bronze color :D

size: 500ml

price: 249 php (Around $5.90+)

place bought: Watsons Health and Beauty Store, Sm Fairview

instructions for use: After cleansing with Pure Beauty Treatment Shampoo, apply an appropriate amount of conditioner to wet hair and massage through the ends. Leave for 2-3 minutes then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

ingredients: Aqua (Water), Sorbitol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Steartrimonium Chloride, Dimethicone, Behentrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Amodimethicone, Cetrimonium Chloride, Tridaceth-12,  Phenoxyethanol, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum (Fragrance), PEG-90M, Paraffinum Liquidum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, BHT, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methlyisothiazolinone.

What I like:
  • The price- it's very affordable.
  • Has Camellia Seed Oil that's known to make hair softer and more manageable.
  • Pump-type bottle that dispenses right amount of product.
  • The scent is a bit powdery, not overpowering.
  • Makes my hair silky, smooth and shiny.
  • The scent lingers on my hair the whole day.
  • Gives a bit of volume on my thin limp hair.
  • This conditioner is Paraben and SLS free.
  • There's a batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the bottle.
What I don't like:
  • I experienced a bit of hair fall.
  • Always out of stock.
Will I repurchase? Yes! This is a great alternative to my HG conditioner. I will restock on this since it's always OOS.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.5/5 rating. I love that this product makes my hair smooth and manageable. I only worry about the hair fall and I'm hoping that it will subside after using the entire bottle. But fret not because it's only a bit. Nothing big to worry about.

Have you tried Pure Beauty Treatment hair care line? What's your fave? Happy Friday guys!

My Recent Hair and Skin Care Haul

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Here's another haul post guys. Actually the first photo was purchased two weeks ago while the latter was bought yesterday. One of hubby's rest day is reserve for grocery and mini shopping day. We usually buy Kenzo's stuff at Sm Supermarket but this time we decided to go at Trinoma. I always enjoy our grocery time because Kenzo loves riding the push cart. When I saw those cute push carts at The Landmark grocery, I'm very excited for my son. So when we went their to buy our grocery, Kenzo's very eager to ride the push carts with kiddie ride thingy.

So here's what I bought two weeks ago: My second bottle of VMV Hypoallergenics Skin-Saving Antiperspirant Spray. Would you believe that my first bottle lasted for a year? I'm really in love with this product. I sweat a lot because it runs in the family. We have active sweat glands and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I'm glad that I discovered this skin care line from VMV and will post my review soon. The price is a bit steep for an antiperspirant but one things for sure, it will really make you feel comfortable! I also bought the Pure Beauty Treatment Conditioner. I read somewhere that this hair treatment line from Pure Beauty is somehow a dupe of Shiseido's Pure Tsubaki Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner. I already made a review on Pure Beauty Treatment Shampoo and I love how it made my color treated hair smooth and shiny.
VMV Skin Saving Antiperspirant from- 420php to 380 php
Pure Beauty Treatment Conditioner with Camellia Seed Oil- 249.75
And here's what I got yesterday: Asian Secrets Lulur Body Scrub in Licorice and Mulberry Leaf Extract which I really love! I think it's my 5th or 6th tub now? I just, just love using this scrub. Then I purchased only one soap from All Organics- Calamansi which I really miss since I'm fond of using Snoe soaps lately but this doesn't mean that I totally forgot this brand. This is my first HG organic soap and will always have a very big place in my heart :)))
Asian Secrets Lulur Body Scrub- 130php
All Organics Calamansi Soap- 70 php
Reviews will be posted soon :D I need to make sure I use the product before making a review so please bear with me if it takes me weeks or months on sharing my thoughts. So that's all for now. Thanks for reading my blog and I hope you enjoyed my haul post. Have a great ahead!

Good Times!~

Product Review: Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate

Thursday, May 31, 2012

It's gloomy outside. Dear Rainy season, is that you? You're always pouring and making noise way past lunch time. I hope you'll just drizzle us with mild rain and cool wind :) Before I feel to activate my hibernate mode and be melancholic here, methinks of sharing a review on another product that I've been using lately. I already received the prize that I won from one of February's giveaways. This time it's the jumbo tub of Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate. If you're the type of girl who loves to take good care of your crowning glory, prolly you've heard Lorys a thousand times. This product garnered positive reviews from beauty bloggers and highly raved at different forums.

I already tried and finished a tub of Lorys in Snake Oil variant and it helped me from lessening my hair fall. So now onto the review, I'm amazed how big the tub when I received it a couple of days ago. To my amazement, I decided to use it on the same day my sister handed me the package. I told myself that I need to revive my tresses after 5 days of confinement in the hospital. Don't get me wrong if I tell you now that I wasn't able to wash my hair for 4 days even if the doctor said that I can take a bath after my operation. My mind is troublesome that time and all I think is how to get back on track after what happened. When I washed my hair at home, I reached for the tub and when I opened it oh boy, I smell something so divine! After 3 consecutive days of using it, here's my take on Duo Chocolate :)

Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate
Hi there, I'm Jumbo :P
The new hair cream, Lorys Duo Chocolate with thermal activated silicone was developed for the intensive care and conditioning of damaged and sensible hair. Its formula contains Hydrovance offering the repair to the hair and sealing the hair surface scales, making them soft and shining.

size: 1000g/ 35.3 oz

price: free

place bought: Watsons, Landmark

instructions for use: After shampooing, apply Lorys Hair Cream throughout humid hair, mainly in the ends massaging well for 2 minutes. Rinse well. For special conditioning treatment, apply the product avoiding contact with scalp and allow it to penetrate for 15 minutes  wearing an aluminum cap or hot towel.

ingredients: Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Caramel, Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Cyclopentasiloxano and Dimethiconol and Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Parfum ( Fragrance), Hydroxyethyl Urea, Polyquatemium-7, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben and Propylparaben, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa Butter), CI 191410 (Yellow 5) + CI 15510 (Orange 4) + CI 42090 (Blue 1), Disodium EDTA,  Methylisothiazolinone and Methylchloroisothiazolinone, CI 191410 (Yellow 5), Citric Acid. *Parfum (Fragrance): Benzyl Alcohol, Coumarin
Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate
Thick and creamy blend of brown and white color for that yummy look!
What I like:
  • The scent! Smells divine! It's like the real chocolate goodness in your hair.
  • The price! Since the small tub costs only less than 200 pesos, I bet this one is cheaper even if I don't know the exact price.
  • A little goes a long way, definitely this tub will lasts more than two or three months.
  • The scent lingers! As in I still smell the chocolatey goodness the next day.
  • My hair feels soft and smooth after use.
What I don't like:
  • I experienced a little hair fall.
  • There's no batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the jar.
  • Like I said, jars and tubs can be unhygienic because you have to scoop out the cream using your fingers and dipping your hands will contaminate the remaining product.
Will I repurchase? Yes in the near future after finishing the whole tub and in another variant.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. If not for the hair fall experience, this will be the perfect hair care treatment for my colored locks. Always use a spatula in scooping out the product for hygienic purposes. I think it's best to use this treatment three times a week. I read that some ladies use this as their daily conditioner. But if you have weak and brittle hair, just use this as a weekly treatment to avoid further damage.

Have you tried Lorys Hair Cream?Share your thoughts! Thanks for reading :)

Good Times!~

Product Review: Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner

Monday, April 09, 2012

I'm back! As in for good, the hubby gave his spare time to bring our good 'ol laptop at the repair shop and bought a new hard drive. I have mixed feelings when he told me that it's already fixed. I immediately asked him about the pictures stored in the broken hard drive and he's not sure if our photos can be retrieve. Oh well, I just have to wait and wish my luck. But I'm happy that I can update my blog on a regular basis now that I have "me time" with my laptop. No need to use the old school desktop that sucks bigtime.

If you're a follower of this blog, prolly you know that I already colored my locks more than once.  You can view my previous hair color here  and my current here. I love how my color-treated hair  brightens my face and made me look younger than my age. Since I'm already coloring my hair every three months now, I need to maintain it with the right shampoo and conditioner. After reading reviews and forums on shampoos and conditioners for color- treated hair, I decided to try Clairol Herbal Essences. This brand sounds familiar to those 90's generation kid. I remember their rose botanical variant smells divine and became my shampoo and conditioner during my elementary days! So without hesitation I gave this variant a try. I'm happy that it did not fail me because I'm on my second bottle now.

Now here's my take on Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner
serum infused formula for moisturized softness with Moroccan rose and Passion Fruit, these creamy conditioner will bring out the natural shine and vitality while helping to replenish essential moisturizers.

What I like:
  • attractive packaging, fancy design and contains trivia at the back of the bottle
  • really affordable since one bottle lasted me approximately 2 months
  • the scent is not overpowering
  • it has thick consistency unlike other local conditioners
  • a little goes a long for my thin hair
  • has manufacturing and batch date
  • made my hair soft, shiny and vibrant
  • doesn't aggravate my hair fall

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. I got compliments that my hair is healthy and shiny the last time I went to a salon for my pedicure. The hair stylist asked me what kind of treatment I'm using. HG's Haulin'

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

I've been very busy last two weeks because my father underwent cataract operation and I'm the one responsible getting his laboratory results and cardio-pulmonary clearance. I'm also sleep deprived so my skin is acting up lately and I ran out some of my skin and hair care essentials that's why I need to replenish my stocks. So here's what I got from recent trips to Trinoma where I usually take MRT and purchased my haul.
That's it for now, I'll post my review on Color Me Happy soon. Been thinking of coloring my hair again because the roots are starting to show now. I'm torn between Kao Prettia in Chiffon Beige or Kao Prettia Platinum Beige. I want my hair really light this time bordering from light brown to blonde. Any suggestions? Thanks for sharing!

Would You Dare Try Dove Hair Care?

Thursday, March 08, 2012

Hi dearies! I'm still hopeless about my laptop. Until now I'm having a hard time using our old school desktop PC. I don't know if my good 'ol laptop will survive the accident happened weeks ago. Some photos about my product review doesn't have back-ups therefore I need to grab and borrow some images from the internet if there's any. How I wish I can turn back the time and copy all the photos that I cherish to a flash disk and worry nothing. Sorry for being sentimental, let's just talk something new here.

I'm very curious about Dove's new TV commercial, and laughs whenever I see the wedding pictorial scene. I'm not a fan of Dove specially their soaps because I find it too moisturizing making my skin greasy and shiny. I also don't like the scent, it's unpleasant for me. But when I heard that Dove hair care is now in our country, I give my self a benefit of a doubt. Why not try their hair care products if everyone is talking about good reviews about it. My sister also told me that two variants of their conditioner smells divine and convinced me to try it too. I'm a bit hesitant because my hair suffered from worse hair fall before. I've tried different shampoos and conditioners from commercial and organic ones until Pure Beauty Tsubaki Treatment shampoo and Lorys Hair Creme came to rescue. Trying new hair care products means starting back at one. But I think Dove really wanted me to try their new products.

I had my waxing session at Lay bare SM Fairview and to my surprise they were giving samples of Dove shampoo and conditioner from the damage therapy line.

A little trivia from Dove:
Did you know? Even if you don't realize it, pollution, frequent styling and even simple brushing and towelling can damage your hair. Damage is the cause of dryness, frizz, hair fall and split ends.

Sounds promising... Will Dove give me an experience of beautifully strong, soft, smooth ans shiny hair that's free from damage? Hmm, let's see. Have you tried the new Dove hair care range? What's your favorite?

Good Times!~
