Product Review: Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate

Thursday, May 31, 2012

It's gloomy outside. Dear Rainy season, is that you? You're always pouring and making noise way past lunch time. I hope you'll just drizzle us with mild rain and cool wind :) Before I feel to activate my hibernate mode and be melancholic here, methinks of sharing a review on another product that I've been using lately. I already received the prize that I won from one of February's giveaways. This time it's the jumbo tub of Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate. If you're the type of girl who loves to take good care of your crowning glory, prolly you've heard Lorys a thousand times. This product garnered positive reviews from beauty bloggers and highly raved at different forums.

I already tried and finished a tub of Lorys in Snake Oil variant and it helped me from lessening my hair fall. So now onto the review, I'm amazed how big the tub when I received it a couple of days ago. To my amazement, I decided to use it on the same day my sister handed me the package. I told myself that I need to revive my tresses after 5 days of confinement in the hospital. Don't get me wrong if I tell you now that I wasn't able to wash my hair for 4 days even if the doctor said that I can take a bath after my operation. My mind is troublesome that time and all I think is how to get back on track after what happened. When I washed my hair at home, I reached for the tub and when I opened it oh boy, I smell something so divine! After 3 consecutive days of using it, here's my take on Duo Chocolate :)

Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate
Hi there, I'm Jumbo :P

price: free

place bought: Watsons, Landmark

instructions for use: After shampooing, apply Lorys Hair Cream throughout humid hair, mainly in the ends massaging well for 2 minutes. Rinse well. For special conditioning treatment, apply the product avoiding contact with scalp and allow it to penetrate for 15 minutes  wearing an aluminum cap or hot towel.

Lorys Hair Cream in Duo Chocolate
Thick and creamy blend of brown and white color for that yummy look!
What I like:
  • The scent! Smells divine! It's like the real chocolate goodness in your hair.
  • The price! Since the small tub costs only less than 200 pesos, I bet this one is cheaper even if I don't know the exact price.
  • A little goes a long way, definitely this tub will lasts more than two or three months.
  • The scent lingers! As in I still smell the chocolatey goodness the next day.
  • My hair feels soft and smooth after use.
What I don't like:
  • I experienced a little hair fall.
  • There's no batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the jar.
  • Like I said, jars and tubs can be unhygienic because you have to scoop out the cream using your fingers and dipping your hands will contaminate the remaining product.
Will I repurchase? Yes in the near future after finishing the whole tub and in another variant.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. If not for the hair fall experience, this will be the perfect hair care treatment for my colored locks. Always use a spatula in scooping out the product for hygienic purposes. I think it's best to use this treatment three times a week. I read that some ladies use this as their daily conditioner. But if you have weak and brittle hair, just use this as a weekly treatment to avoid further damage.

Have you tried Lorys Hair Cream?Share your thoughts! Thanks for reading :)

Good Times!~

Gong Xi Fa Cai my dear readers! I just want to make a quick post about this product. Most of the reviews I read shows all the details and information about the product, some of them have tried more than 3 variants already. What I like:
  • The price! It's cheap compared to others containing only 100-200ml per tub.
  • Makes my hair soft and shiny
  • Easy to rinse off
  • I noticed that my hair fall lessened which is a big plus for me
  • This 450g tub will last me a long way since I use it 2x a week
  • Manufacturing, batch and expiry date is printed on the container
  • The scent is not overpowering
What I don't like:
  • I can't think of any, I guess for others its the packaging. In a tub, unsanitary to dip your fingers every time you use it.
Will I repurchase? Yes! I also want to try other variants like Duo Chocolate and Fruit Cocktail

Recommendation:
I give this a 5/5 rating. My hair really love this hair cream. I've been using DIY hair treatments for the past 5 years and all I got is hair fall and frizz. With Lorys, I only see 2 or 3 hair strands falling while rinsing and combing. I highly recommend it. So to all cheapskates out there, try this. There's also other variants to choose from that will cater to you hair needs.

Have you tried Lorys hair cream? What variant gave you that soft and shiny hair after using it?

Good Times!~

My First Ever Products Haul

Friday, December 30, 2011

The title says it all. I purchased new products to try like conditioner and hair treatment for my color treated hair plus soap and scrub for my body. I think the size of the conditioner and hair treatment will last me more than two months. I bought the soap because one of its ingredient is organic while the scrub just caught my attention.
L-R: Purbasari Lulur Scrub, Lory's Hair Cream in Snake Oil, Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner, Asian Secrets Bengkoang Soap with Olive Oil
Product reviews to follow after one month of usage. As for the Lory's Hair Cream, a lot of good reviews can be found in the internet so I will just make a quick post about it.

Two more days to go and its 2012. May God continue to shower his blessings and guidance to us. What's your latest haul? Til then!

Good Times!~
