Daryl Feril x Save My Bag Collection

      Hi dearies! I presume that you've already seen the collaborating works of Kiana Valenciano and Daryl Feril on my last posts. Now I'll give a short background on the award-winning illustrator Daryl Feril below and see up close the designs he made together with Kiana below :)

     Negros-based, award-winning illustrator Daryl Feril joins Kiana Valenciano in executing a special, bespoke collection of Save My Bag from Bergamo, Italy, for the Little White Box Pop-up Store in SM Megamall. The said collection calls for Feril to customize each bag with his unique illustrations, upon the client’s request, and under the guidance of Kiana as creative team captain.

     Feril, a Fine Arts graduate from La Consolacion College Bacolod, has worked previously with such top brands such as Alexandra Mor New York, Bloom Miami, Tory Burch, Lee Jeans, LVMH, among others. Not only that, he was also featured in the edgy Juxtapose Magazine published out of San Francisco. 

     Some of the prestigious awards he has received are: Silver Metal - Best Design - Editorial, Magazine Cover: aDoBo Design Awards 2015, Philippines; and 150 Emerging Talents in Art, Design, Illustration & Photography: ASIAN CREATIVES by Ubies, Tokyo. After a series of meetings, and subsequent creative discussions, Daryl was ready to interpret and execute Kiana’s vision for the collection: bespoke, with no two bags identical.

     “I really wanted to work on something local and Kiana couldn’t have been a better partner,” he says. Working with the bag’s material, hi-tech Poly-Lycra, which makes it lightweight and waterproof, was a challenge for Daryl. “What attracted me to Save My Bag? It’s the quality and its purpose. And of course the idea of painting something on the bag which I thought of doing before but didn't think that I could. It was my first time painting on fabric and it's a bit challenging but I'm glad it turned out well,” Daryl continues.

     And so, paint brush in hand, Daryl then worked on turning the bags into unique canvases, where he was able to express himself freely. “My idea is that, you can carry art through the different bags,” Daryl relates. “Each bag in the collection features different designs, thereby making them truly bespoke. But I also wanted the them to be close to my illustration style.”

     What then, exactly, is Daryl’s illustration and artistic style? “It’s a burst of floral, taking cues from nature which for me has some of the craziest patterns, colors and creatures,” he explains. “Inspirations evolve; sometimes they are based on what I observe around or through the people I meet. And as this is a collaborative effort, I took in inputs from Kiana too.”

     Gary Valenciano has always been supportive of his kids with regards to their respective career paths and endeavors. Miss Universe 2015 and Jollibee 'Shares the Joy' with Pinoy Kids

     Our Queen Pia may be busy as a bee after reigning Miss Universe last year but she will always make time to visit the country to spread joy to kids and kids-at-heart. Pia once interviewed in Buzzfeed Philippines and revealed that she's a Jollibee fan and loves chickenjoy!

1. On her second trip home since winning the much-coveted crown, the Miss Universe did not only drop by Jollibee, she also helped spread joy to 20 kids from an orphanage who were invited to a special Jollibee lunch party.

SQUADGOALS. Jollibee and Friends joined Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach when she threw a kid’s party for Manila’s ERMA Foundation, a center for orphans. 2. The Jollibee Buendia-Bautista branch, on the border of the cities of Makati and Pasay, quickly turned into a playground for four- to eight-year-old kids who – like Pia and her entourage - were served with a filling meal of two-piece Chickenjoy, chocolate sundae, and Peach Mango Pie. They were also treated to a special dance number by the Jollibee and Friends mascots.

3. During the short program, Pia also imparted some life-lessons to the kids during the simple program. “Importante na lagi tayong maging magalang sa mga nakakatanda sa atin, mag-aaral ng mabuti, at parating magdasal, lalo na bago kumain (It is important that we are respectful to our elders, study well, and always pray, especially before meals),” said Pia, addressing the children.

JOLLIBAE. True blue childhood friends, Jollibee and Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach were reunited yesterday for a children’s party for the orphans at Manila’s ERMA Foundation. Growing up, Pia has always been a fan of the fastfood brand and even celebrated one of her memorable birthdays as a kid with a Jollibee party.

4. A symbol of hope and perseverance for Filipinos, Pia joined the local Binibining Pilipinas three times before winning the crown to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. Her victory ended a 63-year drought since the country last won the Miss Universe crown and brought jubilation among Filipinos here and abroad. As a special gift to the kids, Pia distributed Jollibee toys and gamely posed for photos with them.

     Friendly, professional and accommodating, the KidZania Manila staff are also equipped with the expertise to accommodate and assist visiting kids.      The exhilarating “Disney in the Stars” Fireworks is made even more breathtaking by sophisticated projection-mapping technology and every night Sleeping Beauty Castle is set aglow in the all-new moving light projection show. Fairy Tale Forest-Presented by PANDORA – Picture-perfect forest recreates fairy tale scenes

     The enchanting Fairy Tale Forest, unveiling at Fantasyland on December 17, recreates the miniature iconic scenes of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Cinderella,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tangled.” The music-box scenes come to life when activated to re-enact well-loved scenes from the classic Disney Princess stories. Disney’s most famous and magical fairy, Tinker Bell, will be here in Pixie Hollow, awaiting to meet visitors and sprinkle some magical pixie dust.
