Product Review: Mischka Derma Secret Milky White Soap

     Hi dearies! I think everyone is soo excited for Christmas and busy with parties and gatherings. I just want to squeeze in this review that's been sitting my blog dashboard for weeks now. Mischka Derma Secret sent me 3 bars of their milky white soap. If my memory serves me right, this is my first time reviewing a whitening soap that is goat's milk and glutathione combined. Before I forgot, goat's milk is also considered one of the effective whitening soap variant for sensitive skin.

     I presume you already know that some celebrities immerse themselves in a tub of milk.      Hi dearies! My apologies for being MIA (missing in action) :( Internet connection is acting up for the fast few days hence I wasn't able to update you with product features and reviews plus another giveaway that I've promised last week. Anyhoo, I received a new batch of organic skin care products from Skin Beautanicals by Jianne Skin Essentials. When the products came in our doorsteps, I was surprised to see a new variant of soap that I'll be road testing in the coming weeks. This is the snail filtrate repairing soap. Snail slime or mucus had been the talk of the town last year and early this year for its healing properties. If my memory serves me right, I've seen tv and magazine features about skin care products containing this 'miracle' ingredient from the snail. According to what I've heard, the slime/mucus/filtrate has healing and repairing properties for problematic skin. 

     The brands that I saw carrying a snail line are mostly Korean brands. I think they're the ones who first introduced the snail mucus or slime as an anti-aging and repairing agent in the world of skin care. That's why I was intrigued when I saw Skin Beautanicals Snail Filtrate Soap, the first organic soap with snail filtrate that I'll be trying to date.      I've tried a lot of whitening soaps sold in the market today. If you're a lurker in this blog, prolly you know that I've switched to organic soaps for the sake of my sensitive skin. I'm fair already, to begin with, whitening soaps either lighten skin blemishes that I get from pimple marks, insect bites or minor wounds like paper cut or from unconsciously scratching my skin while sleeping.      Being a soap junkie, I'm always on the lookout for new variants of soap available in the market today be it commercially produced or handmade ones. As of the moment, I still have four different kinds of soap for review. I'm very excited to use them all because it contains mostly natural ingredients that promises to make the skin smooth, young and glowing. 

     If you're a fan of whitening soaps, I'm sure you already know kojic acid. It is one of the most famous/effective whitening ingredient in the market today together with glutathione, alpha arbutin and placenta. I've made several reviews of whitening soaps with kojic acid before and I find this variant effective depending on the length of usage. Kojic acid soap can be drying that's why some brands combine it with other moisturizing ingredients that will combat dryness. One combination that I can say will give less dryness to the skin is kojic placenta. Placenta is known to be an anti-aging ingredient and makes the skin smooth and glowing.      Not all soaps are created equal. I'm not sure how many whitening soaps I've already tried but I'm always sure that promising and effective soaps will always be a mainstay in my bath essentials.      If my memory serves me right, three years ago I had a hatred feeling against a certain black soap. It's not the black bleaching bar that I've tried from one of the famous brand of organic skin care products in our country today. Yes, it's a face and body soap that left a terrible effect on my face. The thing that irks me most is that it's organic. • Made my skin a little dry but a dollop of lotion helps prevent dryness.

Will I repurchase? Yes!

Recommendation:

     I give this a 4.75/5 rating. I already liked the soap on the first day of use. There's a very mild stinging and itching sensation meaning the soap's active ingredients is working on exfoliating dead skin cells on my face. It's tolerable that's why I'm not afraid that the soap would burn my skin like what happened to me with other brands of commercially produced kojic soap in the market today. Since this product is 64% more effective than other products with Kojic Acid alone (based on clinical studies) I can say that Belo authority really has the expertise in formulating effective products. After using the soap in a span of one week, there's a slight change in the color of my pimple marks, not that drastic but I can see a difference. This is what an intensive whitening bar should be, safe and effective that's why I highly recommend Belo Intensive Whitening Bar- Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid.

     Hello dearies! Here's another product review from Mischka Derma Secret that was sent to me by the owner Ms. Michelle Rivera last month. The moment I saw this soap from the beauty loot, I was ecstatic because cute logos and heart designs are my weakness. I easily give in to beautiful product labels, packaging and the like. But more than that, I always check the ingredients of a product and when I see something different I get intrigued and for sure I'll be using it religiously without a doubt. I presume that you all know I'm a sucker for organic soaps/organic whitening soap because I have uneven skin tone. I'm already fair to begin with that's why you may ask why I need this variant of soap. Well, to tell you honestly I sometimes hate my skin tone. I easily get sunburned when exposed to sun. Since I wear flip flops everyday and fetching my son from school is one of my proof that my skin is very sensitive to sunlight. We go to my son's school around 10:00 a.m. then we'll walk from our street to the guard house to wait for our ride. It's a pain, I tell you! I can really feel the heat of the sun on the surface of my skin. 

     Okay go back to the review, this soap is a combination of four beautifying and lightening ingredients. There's milk gluathione, arbutin, rosehips and collagen. Even though the major whitening ingredients are milk glutathione and arbutin, the other two also helps in maintaining the skin suppleness and youthful glow. Pro-longed sun exposure can result to aging, wrinkles and skin cancer and that's where the rosehips and collagen do their part. I've been using this soap for more than three weeks now. I can say it helped me maintain my skin tone even if I'm always exposed to sunlight. But I don't attribute it to the soap alone, I also use sunblock and lotion for extra protection.      I was delighted to see more than one variant of Cosmo Skin whitening soaps in the market today. More variants means more choices! Each variant is produced to meet specific skin care needs specially in the whitening department so for those who have a very sensitive skin, fret not because you can still use a lightening, whitening or brightening soap that will not aggravate your skin condition. It's very hard to choose a variant if you just consider whitening itself because there are other ingredients that are combined to the soap that will target specific skin care needs. 

     During the Cosmo Skin Event, I saw four variants of their whitening soap. I'm already familiar with the two (green and maroon box) because that was the first two variants that's sold locally at Watsons. When they introduced these two: Kojic + Alpha Arbutin and Collagen + Papaya, my eyes were glued on the first rather than the later because I'm a fan of kojic soaps and this variant also has Alpha Arbutin. To those who are new to Alpha Arbutin, it's one of the three powerful whitening ingredients in the world of soap today. It's widely used in soaps, face creams and lotions together with glutathione and kojic acid. So if the soap have these three, it's a surefire way that the product will deliver what it promises- lighter and even complexion. For those wondering while until now I'm using whitening soaps even if I'm fair enough to start with, then my answer would be maintenance and to even out my skin tone. Does one of the ingredients sound new to you? I guess you’ll answer yes. Actually the bearberry is not that new to me, I already tried another brand of soap with bearberry extract but it is combined with other fruit extracts too.  It's nice to see how Cosmo Skin upgraded their beauty and skin care products. Some five years ago they just started from one variant of soap and two kinds of skin care supplements. I've tried their whitening soap (Cosmo Skin Glutathione and Arbutin Soap) before venturing into organic ones. I can say it's cost effective and if you're really serious in making your skin lighter, then Cosmo Skin is for you. I'm fair skinned to begin with but using the soap that I've mentioned above made my fair skin more even toned and smoother. If you'll ask me why I stopped using the soap, then my hormones got to be blamed and organic skin care soaps became my life saver. Switching to natural skin care products doesn't mean that it'll give you good results forever. Like in my case, there were times that my skin got immune to my favorite organic brands too. What I do is to alternate all my HG soaps and when there's a new brand to try, I take time to read the labels and dare to use it without a doubt. If I see a negative reaction after three uses, I stop using it.

     On my trip to Robinson's Galleria a month ago, I saw a big kiosk of SESOU store. It's a store where you can buy everything organic, from head to toe! They also sell general cleaning items and other stuff that's environment friendly. This is the store where I first met my favorite All Organics Soaps that I still purchase from time to time. I was looking for my favorite All Organics Calamansi variant that time but it's OOS. I was contemplating if I'll get another fave, the Singkamas variant or try another organic brand. Well, trying another brand can be risky for me now since my skin's condition these past few days was very sensitive. Breakouts here and there and my old skin care regimen seems not working anymore. So even though I was skeptical on trying an new organic brand, I still pursued buying one from Be Organic. 

     My skin concerns as of the moment are tiny bumps like whiteheads that will turn into zits after a few days, rough and dry cheeks and some oiliness on my chin and nose. I know that the cause of this is hormonal. I already went to my OB-Gynecologist to have a general check up. Anyhoo, there are four variants of Be Organic soap that time and I have my eyes glued on the Papaya Kojic soap. I was brave enough to try kojic soap because I already tried this variant of soap from different brands before. What's new to me is the combination of Papaya and Kojic.  I've been using the soap for more than three weeks now and the results are erratic. I guess the effects on my skin is not because of the soap but mainly the hormonal changes that I've been going through.

     A blessed Sunday to all of you dearies! Time flies very fast! 2 more days and we're entering another month of festivities. I think May is the month wherein different harvesting festivals happen in our country. It's another way of celebrating summer and joining different outdoor activities means long sun exposure. What I like:

• I like the color of the packaging, I have this thing for black and pink combination.
• Doesn't melt fast, doesn't break or deform its shape even up to the last bits.
• Contains Glutathione, Kojic Acid and Mulberry Extract that's proven to lighten and even-out skin tone. Talk about 3 whitening ingredients in 1 bar of soap :)
• Makes my skin soft and smooth.
• Hubby's skin became a bit even especially on his arms.
• The whole bar lasted me more than a month.
• No irritation and stinging.
• This soap helped me maintain my skin tone (I'm always outside the house between 10 am and 3 pm doing errands)
• Batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the package.
• Easily available and accessible.

What I don't like:

• Again, soap with powder and floral scent is a bit overpowering to me. My nose doesn't agree to it :(
• A little dryness which I guess will always be present after using whitening soaps.

Will I repurchase? Yes,  especially for the hubby who really needs to even out his skin tone.

Recommendation:

     I give this a 4/5 rating. A cost effective whitening soap that really works! If you still haven't considered organic soaps as your new companion in terms of whitening, then I highly recommend this soap to you. I love organic whitening soaps but this one is very promising. It contains more than one whitening agents (Kojic Acid, Mulberry and Glutathione) so instead of buying them separately, you can have them in just one bar. I can say that using this religiously soap for more than a month will give you a lighter, smooth and blemish free skin.

Product Review: Beauty and Bright Facial and Body Lightening Moringa Soap

     Hello dearies! Happy Easter to everyone :) Today I'm going to share my thoughts on Beauty and Bright Facial and Body Lightening Moringa soap. I know this review took almost 2 months but I'm confident and happy to share it to you because it's not only me who used the soap religiously. I convinced my husband to try soap because I noticed his left arm has uneven skin tone because of driving without any protection around 10 a.m. everyday. He's not using sunblock or any kind of clothing to protect his skin. Before I decided to use this soap, he's already using it for more than 2 weeks. I'm very impressed because I really saw the improvement and told him his arm was getting lighter everyday. If I can only post his before and now photos, I will but his very shy and didn't want to take part in my blog post. I hope it's okay for you, his a very private person and I understand his reasons for that. Anyhoo, I noticed some changes on the intensity of dark mosquito bites on my legs after 3 weeks of using the soap religiously. I also have a blister on my right ankle that's very dark and now it looks soft and a bit lightened.

• The scent- it's minty, love the smell of this soap because everytime I use it I feel very relaxed.
• Produces a thick and creamy lather that applies very smooth on skin.
• My skin feels soft and squeaky clean after every wash. There's a tight feeling on my face but not too tight. 
• I can see a glow on my face and smaller pores when I looked in the mirror.
• Exfoliates well.
• Contains 7 LIGHTENING/BEAUTIFYING agents in 1 bar. 
• Doesn't made my skin dry after bath. If you're a long time user of whitening soaps, natural, organic or not you'll notice there's a bit of drying after use.
• Made some dark spots and blemishes caused by pimples appear lighter after a month of everyday use. 
• The packaging is very neat and simple. The box is loaded with information. Everything you need to know about the soap is printed on the box. 
• Complete batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the box.
• Did I mention it's affordable? I'll just make it cheap- after a month of using the soap on my face and body, there's an approximate of 1/3 bar left on my soap dish. 

What I don't like:

• None!

Will I repurchase? YES, definitely!

Recommendation:

     I give this soap a 4.75/5 rating. If you ask me why not 5/5, I have to be honest that I'm not a fan of soaps that has cooling sensation. The minty feel is a plus for now because it's summer but if I'm going to use this during cold months, methinks will not let the lather stay on my skin for 5 minutes. But nonetheless, this soap performs great and same as the Beauty and Bright Skin Lightening and Anti-Agin Serum Bar. You can use the soap as is, no need to cut into half. Don't worry, it's very soft to touch but it will not melt unlike other organic soaps that I've tried. I highly recommend this specially now the heat is insane. If you want to lighten your skin and relax while taking a bath at the same time, I highly recommend this soap. Le hubby loves it too, it's the first time he asked me where to buy this kind of soap :)

     I'm very excited to share this review because this is my first brand of organic anti-aging soap to date. I just turned 30 last January and even if I'm 5 years late in my anti-aging regimen ( 25 years old is the recommended age for using anti-aging products) methinks it's not too late to add one or two age-defying product in my skincare essentials. So I'm starting it with an anti-aging soap for the face and body. But this is not just an ordinary soap, it's a serum bar from Beauty and Bright. I've seen the word serum on creams and lotions but not with soap. At first I was skeptical if the soap will produce the same kind of lather that a regular soap can give.      After more than a month of using this serum bar religiously on my face and body, I'm very impressed with the results. • My skin feels soft and velvety smooth after every wash. There's a tight feeling on my face but not too tight. 
• I can see a glow on my face and smaller pores when I looked in the mirror.
• Exfoliates well.
• This variant is 2 in 1, whitening and anti-aging for the price of 1 bar. 
• Made some dark spots and blemishes caused by pimples appear lighter after a month of everyday use. 
• Though I'm not sure on the anti-aging effect, I noticed that stretch marks on my abdomen appeared a little lighter in terms of color intensity than before. 
• It's amazing how it can withstand the weather. It's summer and the heat is insane. There's no sign of melting or changes in size and shape. 
• The packaging is very neat and simple. The box is loaded with information. Everything you need to know about the soap is printed on the box.

Recommendation:

     I give this soap a 5/5 rating. This is my first organic anti-aging serum bar and I'm very much impressed with the performance. I'm adding this variant now on my bath essentials. A little word of caution, even if this soap contains all natural ingredients I still advise you to use this on a small part of your body first. If there's no negative reaction, redness or irritation occur use this soap as instructed. Remember that natural products can also cause allergic reactions in some individuals. I have a very sensitive skin that's prone to redness and irritation. I'm glad I didn't experience negative reaction from the very first use. I highly recommend this serum bar ^_^
