Product Review: Be Organic Papaya Kojic Soap

Friday, September 06, 2013

On my trip to Robinson's Galleria a month ago, I saw a big kiosk of SESOU store. It's a store where you can buy everything organic, from head to toe! They also sell general cleaning items and other stuff that's environment friendly. This is the store where I first met my favorite All Organics Soaps that I still purchase from time to time. I was looking for my favorite All Organics Calamansi variant that time but it's OOS. I was contemplating if I'll get another fave, the Singkamas variant or try another organic brand. Well, trying another brand can be risky for me now since my skin's condition these past few days was very sensitive. Breakouts here and there and my old skin care regimen seems not working anymore. So even though I was skeptical on trying an new organic brand, I still pursued buying one from Be Organic.

My skin concerns as of the moment are tiny bumps like whiteheads that will turn into zits after a few days, rough and dry cheeks and some oiliness on my chin and nose. I know that the cause of this is hormonal. I already went to my OB-Gynecologist to have a general check up. Anyhoo, there are four variants of Be Organic soap that time and I have my eyes glued on the Papaya Kojic soap. I was brave enough to try kojic soap because I already tried this variant of soap from different brands before. What's new to me is the combination of Papaya and Kojic.  I've been using the soap for more than three weeks now and the results are erratic. I guess the effects on my skin is not because of the soap but mainly the hormonal changes that I've been going through.
Be Organic Papaya Kojic Soap
Achieve that flawless, blemish free, and younger looking skin in no time, Kojic Acid is a mushroom extract, and used to lighten discoloration such as freckles and age spots. It penetrates the skin and goes into deep cellular layers to inhibit dark pigmentation from forming. Azelaic and Glycolic acids effectively kill acne causing bacteria, control excess oil production and speed up skin cells turn over to reveal glowing new skin.
Be Organic Papaya Kojic soap is a natural handmade soap that contains natural ingredients, no dangerous chemicals, no parabens and no fillers.
Be Organic Papaya Kojic Soap
Sealed in a plastic, you can see some deformities on the edges and surface of the soap. This soap is not as hard as Snoe soaps nor as soft as All Organics.
  • Made with high quality natural and organic ingredients.
  • Helps solve/reduce skin problems like pimples, acne, dry skin and others.
  • Rich in natural glycerin to give you soft, smooth and healthy glowing skin.
  • No harmful chemicals.
Be Organic Papaya Kojic Soap
This soap is orange in color, same as kojic and papaya soaps in the market.
size: 110g

price: 89php ( Around $2.00+ )

place bought: Sesou Nature Source Robinson's Galleria

instruction for use: use this soap for taking a bath. can be used both on face and body

ingredients: Safonified Oils (Coconut, Palm, Olive, Grapeseed), Azelaic, Glycolic, Kojic Acids, Papaya Extract, Vitamin E and Essential Oils.

What I like:
  • It's organic!
  • The price- affordable.
  • The scent is not overpowering, there's a faint papaya scent.
  • It's mild and gentle on my skin.
  • Lather's well.
  • Exfoliates very well!
  • Made my skin glowing, soft and smooth to touch.
  • Dries up tiny bumps on my face and made some acne marks lighter in color.
  • Made my skin squeaky clean after every bath.
What I don't like:
  • Not easily accessible.
  • Doesn't have batch, manufacturing and expiry date.
  • Made my skin dry if I let the lather stay on my skin for more than two minutes.
  • Melts easily and it breaks into small crumbs of soap.
Will I repurchase? Yes. But I want to try other variants from this brand like their Bearberry Soap which is for anti-aging.

Recommendation:
I give a 4/5 rating. I can say that I have a love-hate relationship with this soap. It performs well in drying up pimples and making my pimple marks appear lighter but I noticed that after one pimple dries up, another one will appear after a span of two days. As I've said earlier, maybe it's because of my hormonal imbalance that's why pimples keep on coming back even though I'm using the right kind of skin care products for my face. Since this soap doesn't contain hardeners, I advise you to cut into half so that it will not melt faster than the usual in the soap dish.

Have you tried Be Organic Soap? What's your pimple-fighthing skin care regimen as of the moment? Thanks for sharing dearies!

Good Times!~

  5. I've always been curious about kojic soaps since there has been a lot of it in the market lately. This review just helped my decision in just sticking to using the big brands instead of these ones.

  11. @Leilani Gamboa- Hello :) Ganun talaga, may organic soaps din na nakaka dry ng skin. Hope you'll be able to find the soap na compatible sa skin type mo.

@Sakuranko- thank you so much dear!

    @Franc Ramon- yes indeed :)

@Nicol- oh I see. Sometimes our skin gets immune kasi from the products we're using lalo na kung matagal na talaga natin ginagamit.

@Le-an Lacaba- thanks for your insight. We have different skin types dear and sometimes kahit na yung purest and safest pede pa din hindi hiyang sa atin. Some individuals also tend to get allergic sa mga natural skin care products.

@Fati Recede- try this sis and let me know it's effective to you.

@sherry ann gole cruz- Sis at SESOU TRINOMA or ROBINSON'S Galleria. You can also go to their facebook page: Be Organic Bath and Body, they are different kasi because of the ingredients kahit both kojic sila.

    @Dapne Benosa- it's good for skin whitening/lightening!

@Sheela Marie Castillo- I guess it's the nature of the soap talaga, mas less yung chemicals na gamit kasi it's an extract from natural ingredients.

@Phya- I highly recommend this soap. Yung hormones ko lang talaga pasaway :)

  14. haven't tried this but, i put organic or products with lesser chemical contents, first on my list because I have a very sensitive skin that chemicals would easily make it dry or itchy. heard a lot about Kojic soaps and my friends told me those really lighten their skin. By the way, I get curious about "Kojic" what really is kojic? And yah you're right, I used a lot of whitening/exfoliating soaps, and we have the same experience - they melt easily...but I'd definitely try it and see how its effect differs from the other soaps of its kind...thanks for the review now I have another choice! =)

  17. @Pau B.- aww, sorry to hear that. some individuals are allergic to kojic acid din.

@Arra Odeza- try it dear, meron kana basis ngayon :)

@Claire Pajarillo- Kojic Acid sis is extracted from mushrooms and used to whiten the skin and by slowing the pigmentation process. Try this just make sure to cut the soap in half para di masayang.

  18. I love organic products. I try to stay away from products with chemicals and other ingredients that I have never heard of. Kojic is one of the best but the melt easily part is annoying. Will try this, I have never tried this before. You should try oatmeal soap, it's really great and doesn't dry out your skin :)

  19. @Louise Ito- yey, we both love organic products! thanks for the recos dear, will try that soon.
