Watsons + SNOE Beauty Haul

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Hello there! Just a quick haul post for today. I asked Kenzo to watch Little Einsteins from the TV so I'm here typing faster than the usual because I told him this: mommy will borrow the laptop, count 1-10! Hehehe! So last weekend I went shopping to replenish my bath essentials and look what I found at Watsons, a charcoal toothbrush! My toothbrush brand is Colgate but the charcoal thing-y caught my attention so I decided to buy it and see what's the difference from the regular bristles. I ran out of conditioner and my plan was to try the Dove conditioner for color-treated hair. I haven't seen this variant before and I'm not sure if it's available here already. My cousin mentioned it to me a month ago. I tried looking for it at Watsons and Sm supermarket but I found none. My second option was Color Me Happy but it's OOS so my last resort was Pure Beauty Treatment Conditioner and it's my 2nd bottle now.

Since I'm very busy lately and have no time to book for an appointment at my fave waxing salon, I just bought this hair removal paper and use the remaining Strip It wax that I won from a giveaway. I ran out of facial wipes and the aloe vera variant was OOS so I opted for the green tea instead.

Restocking my fave soaps from Snoe for the nth time, No.5 Vitamin C Rich Calamansi Beauty Bar and No. 10 The Special Black Bleaching Bar. Back to this soaps after finishing No.3 Special Kojic Glutathione Soap.

My Skin Care Regimen

Monday, August 13, 2012

Hi loves! I'm worrying that another typhoon (Helen) will give sleepless nights and panic attacks to those living near rivers, creeks and low lands. After a day of sunshine here's another day of gloomy sky. If only we can talk to mother nature and ask her to give us normal amount of rainfall then we'll all be appease. Let's just pray that God will guide and give us strength and patience to endure all these natural disasters that we have to face.
Today is errands day and we're off to Sm Fairview for some grocery and window shopping :D I'm also excited because the kiddo in me wants to play arcade games, weeee!~ So before going outside, I want to share my skin care regimen. Almost all of these skin care products became my HG (holy grail). Believe me when I say that I've tried and tested these soaps since 2009. Some brands specially with the soap only became my favorites this year.

My facial soaps- I use this soap once or twice a day. I also use a special soap e.g my skin is acting up or I want to lighten dried up zits.

Step 1: I leave the soaps lather for 2 minutes then rinse.

Step 2: After the Calamansi soap (ALL ORGANICS/SNOE WHITE) I leave the soaps lather on my
face for 2 minutes then rinse.
FOR PIMPLE MARKS
FOR ACNE BREAK-OUTS
I only use one toner before until I tried something that is almost close to organic because of its ingredients (will make a review soon)- All Organics Lemongrass Facial toner and Dr. Skin Oil Control Toner

My new love! I included this on my skin care regimen because it helped me lessen my pimples during my monthly period.
For my moisturizer- I only use GNC Vitamin C Moisturizer and Camaru Naturals Camellia Oil
DAY
NIGHT, I ALSO USE THIS AS MY UNDER EYE CREAM
And for my face mask- I use Purederm's Dual Well-Being twice a week.

Basically that's it! I will update this post later. I want to add something but I can't find the pictures of them. Hope you enjoyed reading this. Stay safe everyone!

Good Times!~

Just Sharing

Saturday, July 14, 2012

O-M-G! It's end of season sale once again. I know it's crazy! I'm planning to lift my no buy mode (parang coding lang =P) hehehe! but here's my bipolar personality again. I would love to shop new clothes and shoes since the last time I bought a pair of flats was months ago. But I'm worried that I will regret buying those stuffs. It's weird, I know! I'm also confused what brand to buy. Most stylish items are on sale so this will make me go nuts! Even if I already made my shopping list that I restricted only to three items (THREE ONLY) I'm sure that I will ignore it most specially if the items that caught my eye is 70% off the tag. I'm an impulse buyer before. I hope I can resists the power of temptation. So before I go on bargain hunting later, I want to share this post so you know what to expect on my next reviews.

Please bear with me for the long introduction. If you can still remember my post about being lucky on giveaways, well thanks to my lucky charm because I also won from other giveaways that I joined. This GC is for my son Kenzo and the hubby who loves eating chicken and burger :D and oh, coffee float is enough for me.

500PHP GC from Jollibee
My sister-in-law gave me this new product from AVON to review. She said this new hair treatment is on a special introductory price that's why she wanted me to give it a try. The hair treatment costs 199php. It's a steal because the shampoo is free.
AVON Advance Techniques 3D
This loot came from my sister. It's a way of saying thank you from asking a very important favor. She also saw this Tiny Buds baby powder at The Landmark baby section. At first I thought its for Kenzo but she told me to try it as finishing powder. When I read that it's made of real rice grains, I doubt it on keeping oilies at bay. But I have to road test it first, who knows this can be an HG material.
I will end my post here dearies! My allergies are still there but not as itchy as day 1 and 2. I'm just worried that it will leave marks. I accidentally scratched them while sleeping :(  So to those who are going to spend their day shopping, take care and relax! Enjoy your day.

Good Times!~

Product Review: Natural Body Recipe- Calamansi Transparent Soap

Monday, March 05, 2012

Happy Monday everyone! It's been a week since my last post and I'm still not sure if I can retrieve all my photos from my broken laptop. Even though I haven't updated my post, I still manage to read my favorite topics from GT forum and posts from beauty and fashion bloggers. I still think that my day is incomplete if I have overdue posts waiting to be publish. So today, I'll be reviewing a product that I bought weeks ago at HBC. This post is more of a rant. I thought this soap is organic because of the "Natural Body Recipe" that is printed on the new packaging. I also gave this soap a try because I read in GT that it has a micro peeling effect.

I asked the SA about the whole product line. There's also a Calamansi soap that is not transparent and the difference is that it's not glycerin based. She said that glycerin based soap is more concentrated so I'm convinced and bought the smaller size.

This is the old packaging of the soap, taken from HBC website
Calamansi extract helps lighten skin
Glycerin-based formulation gently cleanses leaving skin soft and smooth
Washes away dirt and refreshes skin

Natural Body Recipe- Calamansi Transparent Soap
size: 3.17 oz./ 90g.

price: 47 php (Around $1.20 )

place bought: HBC Sm Fairview

instruction for use: For face and body

ingredients: Triethanolamine, Stearic Acid, Aqua, Fatty Acids, Myristic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Citrus Microcarpa Calamansi Extract, Cocamide Diethanolamine, Ethyl Alcohol, Paraffinum Liquidum, Sodium Hydrosulfite, Butylene Glycol, Pentasodium Pentetate, Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Fragrance, CI 11710, CI 77007

What I  like:
  • The scent- citrusy but not overpowering
  • Inexpensive
  • Easily available
  • Has manufacturing, batch and expiry date printed on the packaging
What I don't like:
  • Gave me cystic pimples on my cheeks
  • I find it hard to make rich and foamy lather
  • It didn't gave me the micro peeling thing-y that I wanted
Will I repurchase? No, I still have the other half and discontinued using it.

Recommendation:
I give this soap a 3/5 rating. Maybe it's only me who broke out with this soap. I'm not sure if I'm allergic to one of its ingredients. But when I googled information on glycerin based soap, I learned that this should help moisturize the skin and is suitable for people with acne, dry and sensitive skin.

I'm planning to try generic glycerin soap but breaking out is a no no. So I think I have to do some reading and ask for your opinion. Any thoughts on glycerin soap? Thanks for sharing!

Product Review: SNOE White Vitamin C rich Calamansi beauty bar

Thursday, March 01, 2012

I'm a sucker for anything organic. My current addiction when it comes to skin care includes organic soaps from All Organics like Calamansi, Singkamas , Papaya with Glutathione, and Tomato Lime. Facial toner like All Organics Lemongrass toner and EOS lipbalms. Although I've found my HG's which I'm using for more than two years now, methinks I need to try other brands because my skin will get immune with these products thus lessen its effectiveness. Thanks to my fellow bloggers who always share their recent product hauls. I discovered so many things from them and become updated on latest beauty finds from skin care to makeup. So when I read their posts about SNOE, I'm giddy to try their soaps.

Be the fairest of them all... sounds promising, eh? Will this statement make me as fair and white as Snow White? Catchy enough to make me buy this soap.
Snoe white Vitamin C rich Calamansi Bar

Snoe white Vitamin C rich Calamansi Bar
NO.5  Snoe white Vitamin C rich Calamansi Bar
Calamansi- is a rich source of vitamin C and alpha-hydroxy acid that will whiten dark spots on skin. It naturally bleaches dark regions of the body specially the under arms, inner thighs and act as an organic deodorant. It is also a natural astringent that safely eliminates pimples without being harsh to skin.
size: 150g

price: 139php (Around $3.25)

place bought: Landmark, Trinoma

instructions for use: wet skin, lather beauty bar and apply thoroughly. leave on skin for 2 minutes. expect a slight tingling or prickly sensation. rinse thoroughly. for best results use sunblock with spf30 after bathing.

ingredients: Calamansi Extract, Papaine Enzyme, Vitamin C and E, Cucumber Extract, Goat's Milk, High Grade Coconut Oil

What I like:
  • It's organic!
  • Nice citrusy smell.
  • Fancy and cute packaging.
  • Doesn't not melt easily like other organic soaps.
  • Affordable.
  • Easily accessible.
  • There are so many variants to choose from.
  • There's a micro peeling effect which is plus for me.
  • Leaves my skin squeaky clean.
  • Yay to the manufacturing and expiry dates ^_^
What I don't like:
  • No batch, manufacturing and expiry date
  • Sting my eyes big time
  • Since it's summer already, I need to splurge on spf to protect my skin from darkening
Will I repurchase? Yes! I want to try other variants like the collagen and kojic thingy

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. This can pass as my substitute to All Organics Calamansi Soap that I love to bits. Haven't seen any whitening effect for the past two week. I think it's too early to gauge it in terms of whitening. Always cut the soap into half so that it will not melt easily. The heat is on and organic soaps melt faster even I put it air conditioned room. If the direction for use says leave it for two minutes, then follow without hesitation. Leaving it longer will really make your skin red and itchy.

That's it for now. Have you tried Snoe white soaps?Which variant can you recommend for me to try next?Thank you for sharing!

Good Times!~
