Physiogel Oncology Advocacy Event #ExtraordinaryWomen

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Every October, we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's a whole month celebration where breast cancer patients with their relatives join together to spread awareness so that we can prevent breast cancer in the early stages. It's also a celebration of beauty and fulfillment for ladies with breast cancer who had survived the pain and the obstacles that they've gone through. In line with the celebration, I was very fortunate to attend the Physiogel Oncology Advocacy Event where they made breast cancer patients as their brand ambassadors and introduced them to media and bloggers and shared their stories with us last October 18 at Makati Edsa Shangri la.

Product Review: Digestics Probiotic Food Supplement

Sunday, October 27, 2013

Eating the right kind of food everyday is a hard protocol for me because I always count the calories that I load in my body and not the kinds of food found in the food pyramid. If you're a long time reader of this blog, I'm sure you've read my stories about dieting and pushing myself to stay fit and healthy. It's very hard you know when you were born in a family who loves to eat. Despite the unhealthy eating habits and the drinking sesh weekly, I always make sure that there's something in my diet that will help me expel toxins in my body. I'm a regular user of psyllium husk fiber for four years now that's why I'm brave enough to junk all the starches and oils in my body. But that's unhealthy and don't do that even if you're drinking supplements that will reduce the bad fats in the body because it's insane that you're trying to live a healthy lifestyle but you're ingesting unhealthy stuff, see the picture?

Nowadays, people become more and more aware of the supplements that will help them lose the bad fat and cholesterol in their system in a very easy and convenient way. All the food that we eat gets easily digested if we have healthy stomach so good bacteria is needed to make our tummies happy! Just recently, Sample Room introduced this newest supplement in the market today that contains fiber and probiotics in one. Introducing Digestics, click CONTINUE READING to know more about this wonderful product.

Product Review: Celeteque Brightening Radiance Body Cream

Sunday, October 20, 2013

Two or three days ago there's a sudden change in the temperature and the northeast moonsoon winds started to make its wave here in our country. Holiday season is here! It's just around the corner of every place that I've been to last week. Good vibes everywhere because of the Christmas songs that I hear and colorful decorations that I see around the neighborhood. But with the sudden change of weather, there's one thing that I also worry. It's also the season where I change my skin care routine because my skin tends to get dry on some parts of my body especially my on my legs.

I experienced dryness on lower parts or my legs that's why a I need a lotion or a cream that will make them hydrated and nourished so that it will not look scaly and dull. Most of my HG lotions doesn't concentrate on extremely dry skin or radiance boosting ingredients that's why when I saw this Celeteque Radiance Body Cream from Sample Room, without thinking twice I grabbed a sample. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first brightening/radiance cream that I've tried because most of the lotions that I use are whitening because I have fair uneven skin tone. So what's the difference of this lotion from the common whitening variant? I guess it's pretty obvious that it will really make the skin bright and radiant- the mirror like glow that we want to achieve because  glowing skin is healthy. Even though you're fair, morena or dark skinned, having a glowing skin looks refreshing and beautiful. So enough with the blabber and now let me share my thoughts on this product. Here it is, my review of Celeteque Body Radiance Cream from the brightening line. Click CONTINUE READING to know more about the product.

Product Review: Be Organic Emu Skin Perfecting Cream

Thursday, October 17, 2013

Hello dearies! I'm very excited to share my review today because it's another first :) It's my first organic/natural face cream to date :) I'm a long time user of GNC Vitamin C Moisturizing cream and consumed more than five tubs already. And because I'm slowly incorporating organic products to my body and hair care essentials, I think now is the right time to have one for the face.

Remember my post about my discover of a new brand of organic soap that I've posted months ago? I mused my story there when I first saw the brand Be Organic. Aside from the soaps, this EMU Skin Perfecting cream caught my attention. I asked the SA about this cream and she said that it's a new product from Be Organic and explained to me that it's packed with vitamins and natural skin perfecting ingredients. Sounds very pleasing to the ears and kudos to the SA who knew what she really sells. Back to my story, I was tempted to buy a tub that time but I just brought an exact amount of money that day. So I said to myself that I'll come back for this cream on my next visit to SESOU store whether it's at Trinoma or Robinson's Galleria branch. But this lemming or wish came true when Ms. Cheryl of Be Organic Bath and Body sent me samples of their products. I'm really not expecting that she included a full-sized EMU Skin Perfecting Cream when I received my package. All I know is that she will just send me soaps because it was the only thing that I've mentioned on my previous post about my review on the Papaya Kojic soap. It's very heart warming when you're not expecting to receive products beyond your expectations. Don't get me wrong but I'm really overwhelmed with the products she sent me.

Are you familiar with Emu oil? Have you heard this miraculous product that came from the Emu bird? Click CONTINUE READING to know more information about the benefits and of course about this cream.

Product Review: Kerastase Cristalliste Bain Cristal Luminous Perfecting Shampoo

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

I pay more attention when it comes to hair care now than before. My hair was very low maintenance before because all it takes to complete my hair care routine every day includes shampoo and conditioner. I don't apply serums and I don't blow dry my hair. I just let it dry naturally and after combing I'm good to go. But as time pass by consider the age factor and numerous chemical treatments that I've gone through, my hair strands became weak and brittle. I have thin limp hair to begin with and it's easily prone to dullness and breakage. The worst thing that happened to my locks was major major hair fall. To address these issues, I change shampoo and conditioner every month- some lessened the hair fall while others make it worst. I already found my HG shampoo with Pure Beauty Tsubaki Treatment Shampoo and Botanique Spa Morocco Argan Oil Shampoo but there are times that my hair still needs extra care and shine. With so many brands of commercial and organic shampoos in the market today, it's very hard to choose which one to try first as most of them promises good results. What my hair needs now is shine! My digi-permed hair will turn three months old this coming November that's why the curls are not that shiny anymore. Thank goodness that Kerastase is here to rescue.

To tell you honestly, I'm not planning to use this shampoo because I was very much contended with the current shampoo that I'm using. I was planning to repurchase another bottle of Botanique Spa shampoo earlier this month but I decided to give this variant a try. If you'll ask me why I veered away from this varaint without trying it first, then the answer would probably my first experience with another variant of Kerastase shampoo- the Reflection Bain Chroma Riche. I had a not so good experience with the first variant of shampoo that I've tried from Kerastase but with this one, that impression vanished! It made me think again that all shampoo variants were created with a purpose and that purpose should serve us well. So do you think this shampoo made a yay or a nay? Product Review: COSMO Skin GSE (Grape Seed Extract)

Monday, October 14, 2013

Taking care of our skin is not as easy as one, two, three. We need to look for skin care products that will give us positive results for a long period of time. I don't have flawless skin and my skin tend's to act up every time I change my skin care routine. I have sensitive skin which is 80% hormonal and I already tried almost all commercial brands from the cheapest up to high-end ones. The worst state of my skin was during college years and after giving birth. Would you believe me if I tell you that I once go to facial salons every week for cleaning? Yes, if my memory serves me right that was twelve years ago. During that time, my only hope to temporarily stop my breakouts was through facial cleaning and pricking- Ouch! I know :( Even if my parents told me to stop because nothing good really happened to my skin, I still persisted and to tell you honestly I've wasted my time, money and effort because after a year, nothing really had changed.

Fast forward, my skin literally stopped from breaking out after college graduation. I don't know what happened but it just stopped like that. I'm so happy that I don't have to think about it again and again until I become so depressed with my pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. What I remember was I use the same skin care products day and night and observe proper hygiene meaning no popping of pimples and I avoided touching my face every now and then. But another sad story happened to my skin when I became pregnant, zits started to appear all over my face again, this time I'm really sure that it was hormonal and I cannot treat it with commercial brands because I'm conceiving. This time I resorted to natural and organic soaps to address my skin care problems and voila! Until now, natural and organic products became my skin's bestest friend.

Don't think that I have clear skin now, yes it's 80% clear from major breakouts but there are times that even if I use the products that made my skin better, chances are I still suffer from cystic acne, blackheads and whiteheads because of my hormones. Lets also add another factor, my age. I'm on my early 30's now so anti-aging products tops my list when it comes to skin care. So after reading forums and had a little bit of research, I considered taking skin care supplements that will help restore my skin's radiance and give my pale white skin some glow that it needs even without makeup. If you'll ask me why I resorted to taking skin care supplements, then my answer is that I believe in taking care of our body/skin inside and out. Are you excited to know more what I'm taking right now? Click CONTINUE READING to find out!

Product Review: Artist Studio Angled Flat Top Brush

Hi everyone! How's your weekend? Hope you had a great time with your family and friends. This blog is celebrating it's 2nd Year Anniversary and I prepared a giveaway for all of you. If you're a new reader, you can still join here: Dear Kitty Kittie Kath's 2nd Year Anniversary Giveaway!!! Anyhoo, lets start the week right and overcome the laziness that we usually feel during the first day of the week with a review! This review is another milestone for me because if you noticed, I seldom review makeup brushes and other makeup tools. For the reasons that I only have three makeup brushes as of the moment, the Landmark Retractable Kabuki Brush and the Artist Studio Eyeliner Brush and the Angled Flat Top Brush that we're going to talk about right now. Since I still consider myself a "not so newbie" in the world of makeup (sorry for the lack of term), I don't buy tools that I know will just sit on my makeup stash. What I have now are the brushes that I often use like the ones that I mentioned above. Before I bough this brush, I think more than thrice if I'm going to use this or not since I use my fingers to apply liquid foundation and bb cream. But because beauty bloggers gave positive reviews about the Artist Studio Brush Line from the Landmark (Makati and Trinoma), I gave in to the temptation of buying one for myself and considered this as my handy dandy blush brush :)

To tell you honestly, I haven't tried using this brush on liquid or powder foundation and bb cream. I use this to apply my current blush, E.L.F. Blush in Flushed. The brush works! It's easy to use, picks up the right amount of product and doesn't scratch my skin. Want to know more about my thoughts? Click CONTINUE READING to read more!
Artist Studio Angled Flat Top Brush
The brush is package in this clear plastic pouch
Artist Studio Angled Flat Top Brush
The brush with it's rose gold ferrule and black handle and the brand printed on it.
 price: 119.75 php (Around $2.70+)

place bought: Landmark, Trinoma
Artist Studio Flat Top Brush
What I Like:
  • Really affordable Cheap!
  • The appearance looks classy and nice.
  • It's versatile- can be used to apply liquid and powder foundation and powder blush.
  • No weird smell.
  • It's very soft and dense.
  • Easy to wash and dry.
  • No shedding while washing.
  • Easily accessible.
What I don't like:
  • None
Will I repurchase? Yes! I want to buy all the brushes from this brand ^_^

Recommendation:
Since this is my first flat top brush/ angled flat top brush, I will not give it a rating yet. I need to buy the same kind of brush from another brand so that I can give a comparison and make a good rating from both. But my overall experience from using and cleaning the brush is good. So to all the newbie makeup enthusiasts, aspiring makeup artists and cheapskates like me, I highly recommend this brush. The product performs the job and if you think it doesn't pass your standards, no need to worry since the price is cheap and you can replace it anytime- but I think you won't :)

Have you tried these tools from Artist Studio line? Thank you for sharing your experience!

Good Times!~

Product Review: Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap

Hello dearies! Have you joined my 2nd Year Anniversary Giveaway yet? If not join HERE! I’m very excited to share this review because it’s one of the organic brands in the market today that offers promising natural products for the hair, skin, face and body. I already reviewed one of their soap- The Papaya Kojic and I highly recommend this organic whitening soap for individuals with sensitive skin. If you missed the review just click HERE. Now I’m going to share my thoughts on another variant of soap from Be Organic Bath and Body, this time it’s their whitening and anti-aging soap- The Papaya Bearberry. Does one of the ingredients sound new to you? I guess you’ll answer yes. Actually the bearberry is not that new to me, I already tried another brand of soap with bearberry extract but it is combined with other fruit extracts too. This time it’s combined only with Papaya so the combination is new to me. What exactly is Bearberry extract?
Bearberry extract is made from the leaves of the bearberry plant. It is commonly used as an astringent in cosmetic preparations and skin care products. Astringents are cleansers that remove dirt and oil from the skin's pores. It is also used as a lightening agent to fade freckles or skin discoloration which may be caused by sun damage or hormonal conditions.
And because I’m already 30 years old, I give more importance to anti-aging. I’m already fair to begin with so it’s less of importance for me to get fairer, just even skin tone will do. This variant of soap is another lemming from the brand because when I saw it at Sesou I told myself to buy it next time I'll visit the store. But to my surprise Ms. Cheryl of Be Organic Bath and Body send samples of their products. I'm one happy kid! The moment I received the package, I opened the soap and used it right away. Excited to know my experience about the soap? Here it is, my honest to goodness review of Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap
Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap
This handmade soap has the highest and purest ingredients that whiten and nourish skin. Contains papaya enzyme which reduces dark spots from acne, blackheads and pimples. Combined with Bearberry extract, one of the most powerful skin lighteners.

Product Review: CarbTrim Iced Tea Mix Lemon Flavor

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

Today, I decided to add another topic on my blog and it's about health and fitness wellness. A lot of my relatives and friends asked me why I lost so much weight after giving birth. Actually, this so called journey didn't started after pregnancy but during my high school years. I'm always on a diet ever since and to tell you honestly, I've tried different techniques on how to loose weight fast but the faster you loose weight, the more weight you will gain after that diet period. This is what they called as the rebound effect. So the best way to loose weight is through healthy lifestyle- balance nutrition and exercise. In my experience, diet supplements like fat burners, appetite suppressants, and the like just adds a little boost on losing or maintaining weight. I noticed that the obvious effects of slimming pills and coffees that I've tried before was just help me loose the water weight that I have. Since I don't value exercise before and I want to lose weight the easy way, my skin sagged and got stretch marks here and there. My skin also got a bit wrinkled because I lost so much water and become zombie like due to insomia- another negative effect of slimming pills, juices, and coffees. But not all slimming products in the market are alike. So as years pass by, more innovation about healthy lifestyle became available to health conscious individuals. As I've said earlier, we also need a "boost" to make our healthy lifestyle more achievable. In my honest opinion, there should always be a balance between diet and exercise and a little supplement that will help us achieve our goal. It's like drinking your daily vitamins and supplements. I think there's nothing wrong if we will incorporate healthy drinks in our meals and aside from that we get benefits that will help us achieve our fitness goals.

Presenting CarbTrim,  a weight management solution that blocks up to 66% of carbs in the food you eat. This comes in a powdered iced tea form, available in two flavors: lemon and apple.

Based on research studies, white kidney bean extract may help reduce the absorption of dietary carbohydrates.

Product Review: Colour Collection Vitamin E Matte Lipstick in Electra

Thursday, October 03, 2013

Here's a review of my very first red lipstick. Red, huh?! Not all girls can pull off red shades of lipstick decently. Some may find the shade sophisticated and Elegant while others may find the shade bitchy, sluty or matronish. Picking the right shade of red to suit ones skin tone is very tricky. If you can sport red lippie anywhere and anytime then lucky you! You'll see the Anne Curtis Smith in you who can wear red lipstick in all seasons! I'm also a late bloomer when it comes to lipsticks. I started using them on a regular basis some two years ago. I was scared before to apply bold colored lippie since I have a pigmented lips. I know that opaque and bold ones will look more intense when worn knowing that I have a pigmented lips.

Before I decided to try a red shade lipstick, I search for dupes of the infamous MAC Russian Red and Ruby Woo. I didn't found a dupe that I based from the photos of Temptalia. By the way, she is a famous international beauty blogger. So my search for the perfect red lipstick was set aside when my cousin from the US bought me MAC Girl About Town- a blue based pink lipstick and instantly fell in love with the color.

Even though most of my lipsticks are pinks, I still want to try red just to see if I can wear it without looking like joker or a clown as what le hubby always jokes about. So when my sister-in-law gave me the brochure of Tupperware Brands, the distributor of Colour Collection makeup, and told me that she wanted to give me a thank you gift I didn't think twice and chose this shade. Wanna see if the lipsticks suits me? I wanna faint the first time I applied the lipstick but after three tries, I think I'm getting used to it. So here it is, Colour Collection lipstick in Electra.
Colour Collection Vitamin E Matte Lipstick in Electra
A luxurious matte lipstick that wraps lips with conditioning color, infused with Vitamin E and protective sunscreen to soften lips, smoothen lines and prevent chapping.

Product Review: E.L.F. Blush in Flushed

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

Hellos! Here's a review of my third blush on my history of powder and cream blushers. I'm a long time cheek tint user before I started blogging and just lost my love for cheek tints when my fave cheek tint was discontinued. Anyhoo, this is an impulse buy and now I'm having a love-hate relationship with it. I bought this blush because I forgot to bring my trusted ol blush for touch up before and after the go see that I attended months ago. I was in a hurry that day and the brand that came in my mind when I pass by Landmark, Trinoma was ELF. I had a good relationship with ELF Blush in Glow before that I actually hit the pan. So without a doubt I'll pick ELF again but I was surprised that it has been repackage and not sure if the formula was reformulated too. Since I'm in a hurry, I haven't tried the blush and just bought it right away after getting from the shelves.

When I stared closely at the blush, I'm not sure if the shade suits my skin tone. I find the shade too dark on my cheeks after application. After two hours, I noticed that the color of the blush oxidized on my cheeks as it turned red. I'm not sure if it's because of the lighting on the venue's comfort room. But when I got home, I ask le hubby if I look like a clown with this blush on. He said no but with a grin on his face.

So after that incident, I decided not to use this blush again. But I'm hopeful that it will work for me on the event that I opted to use the blush again. On my recent fotd, I use this blush again and I still find it unflattering on my cheeks. Please help me decide if I'll continue to use it, read my review and see my swatch.
