Product Review: Pantene Color and Perm Shampoo

Monday, May 06, 2013

Hello! I need to counteract this laziness every first day of the week that's why I'll greet you a Happy Monday dearies! Whew! My last hair care review was months ago because I settled on using my HG hair care products but when I attended the BDJ Box Beauty Social Event and they included samples of Pantene Color and Perm shampoo to our loot bag that's good for 7 days, I gave this brand an opportunity to shine once again. I have a love-hate relationship with Pantene shampoos and conditioners before. I love this because it doesn't cause major hair fall but I hate that it does cause breakouts on my forehead and some on my neck :( I veered away from this brand and said to myself not to try this again. But when Pantene made this product for specific hair needs- for color treated and permed hair, something inside my head tells me to try again this brand.

So without thinking twice, I braved myself to try the product for 7 days! It's a risk for me to shampoo my hair for 7 days straight. If you you're a long time reader of this blog, for sure ya'll know that I shampoo my hair 3-4 times a week. And by using this for 7 days, there's no assurance that my hair will get good results. But on my 2nd and 3rd day, I noticed that the effect of this shampoo was the same as what I experienced before but doesn't gave me negative results! Fantastic :) This is the first time that I'll rave about Pantene :) Click Read More to find out what Pantene Color and Perm made my color-treated hair after 7 days...
The Story Behind Pantene Color and Perm
Pantene Pro-V Color and Perm lasting care system is specially formulated with Liquid Crystal Technology that helps hair to repair chemically damaged hair. It also protects colored and permed hair from further damage, so hair color stays healthier for up to 6 weeks. Scientific research shows that hair gets damaged every time you subject it to coloring, perming, and extreme heat. This is because the hair's natural protective layer is ripped-off to alter your hair's fundamental structure from black to brown, straight to permed, wavy to straight. While your hair may look glamorous in pictures, it may be weakened and unhealthy from within. This damage affects the fundamental structure of hair, depleting hair's natural healthy beauty, thus hair is unable to maintain the desired end look.
Pantene Color and Perm Lasting Care Shampoo's LIQUID CRYSTAL TECHNOLOGY has been proven to effectively  protect hair from damage. Now you can enjoy healthy, shiny, colored hair

7 days after using Pantene Color and Perm Shampoo- this photo was my official entry to the contest. If you want to see the ladies who love Pantene Color and Perm Shampoo, buy the May issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine. You can see this photo on page 48 like the one that I posted below :)
My hair color here is LIGHT HAVANA from HBC
Pantene Color and Perm Shampoo
Thank you Cosmopolitan Magazine for the feature

What I like:
  • I love the packaging! It's very sleek and neat looking.
  • The consistency is not thick nor runny.
  • Produces a rich lather and I only need a little amount to shampoo my hair.
  • My hair doesn't feel stiff after shampooing.
  • This shampoo made the color of my hair more vibrant and shiny.
  • After 2 weeks, the color of my hair hasn't faded.
  • Since color treated hair is prone to dryness and breakage, I experienced a very little hair fall. Less than 5 strands and that's very promising for someone like me who had a major hair fall history.
What I don't like:

  • The scent- not long lasting.

Will I repurchase? Yes! This is my favorite and HG Shampoo as of the moment.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. I love this shampoo and even recommended it to my relatives and friends. This is the first time that my hair has agreed with local brand. If you remember my hair care posts, I presume you know that my hair always agree with Korean or other international brands but this time Pantene made a big difference. Just follow the instructions on how to use the product. I had a bad experience before from not following instructions and made my hair very coarse and dry. If you want to really take good care of your hair, if the product says shampoo, lather then rinse- do it! Don't let the product sink into you hair and scalp for more than 2 minutes unless otherwise stated or you'll end up stripping the shine of your locks.

I highly recommend this product! Have you tried Pantene Color and Perm shampoo? Share us your experience!

Good Times!~

Friday, April 05, 2013

I'm know that indulging once in a while to take care of your tresses is a must! Product Review: Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

How do you cope with the breezy cold weather lately? I hate this bed weather because it makes my whole body paralyzed! Yes, I've been sleeping the whole day for 3 days now. I'm not sure if the weather is the culprit but whatever it is, I need to be back on my blogging stint. I have pending reviews from last year and I'll make it up to you. So to start, let me share my thoughts on another expensive hair care product- Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche shampoo. I got this product when I won the giveaway that I joined last August 2012. I'm using this together with Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Masque for around 4-5 months now. FYI, I shampoo my hair twice or thrice a week only that's why a bottle of shampoo lasts a long long time. I know Kerastase hair care products are one of the most expensive line in the market that's why I'm expecting a 100% result after every wash of giving my color-treated hair the shine that it needs.
Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo
When color treated hair comes up against daily attacks such as heat styling irons, UV rays, external pollutants and chemical treatments, Kerastase Reflection BainChroma Riche will soften and bathe the strands to help hydrate and give back intensity and shine. Formulated with Kerastase Aqua-Ionic System, it re-sources with essential elements and fills the fiber with micro prisms and light refractors, leaving your hair fibers with a luminous, mirror-like shine.
Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo
A protective shampoo for dry, highlighted color treated hair

Anti-fading.
Cleanses while adding softness and shine.
Moisturizes hair so it feels supple to the touch.
UV Filter.
Hair shimmers with radiance.

size: 250ml / 8.5 fl.oz.

price: 1,450 php (Around $38.00+)

price based from David's Salon Sm Fairview

place bought: free (got it from as a prize from a giveaway)
leading salons nationwide

instructions for use: Apply a quarter-sized amount to wet hair and massage with flat hands. Emulsify and rinse thoroughly. For maximum results, follow with Kerastase Reflection Chroma Riche Masque.

ingredients: Aqua/Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Coco Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Amodimethicone, Laureth-5 Carboxylic Acid, Cocamide Mipa, Polyquarternium-10, PPG-5-Ceteth-20 ,Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Methylparaben, Peg-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Propylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Ethylparaben, Tocopehryl Acetate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Hexylcinnamal, Citronellol,Methyl Cocoate, Geraniol, Sodium Cocoate, CI 17200/red33, Parfum/Fragrance. C28697/1.

What I like:

  • Classy and luxurious packaging.
  • I like the scent, smells so good!
  • My hair looks silky and smooth.
  • The color of my hair retained it's vibrancy after so many washes.
  • No dandruff and breakouts on my back and in my forehead.

What I don't like:
  • The price! It's verrry expensive for a cheapskate like me
  • Even though the packaging is classy and looks luxurious, I prefer pump type bottle because I can control on how much product to dispense.
  • My hair feels a bit dry and rough as it needs conditioner afterwards.
  • Doesn't produce enough lather, I feel like using organic shampoo.
  • Weighs down my hair and makes it frizzy if I just let it dry naturally.
Will I repurchase? No, there's a lot of cheap and cost-effective shampoos out there to try.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. I'm having difficulty seeing the results :( Honestly, I really wanted to give this product another chance after emptying the bottle. I'm thinking of using this everyday starting today to see if there's any difference from my cons above. Maintaining a color-treated hair can be expensive and needs to much effort. You need to have a shampoo-conditioner-serum-treatment (masque, cream or oil) specially formulated for color-treated hair to maintain it's color and to avoid dryness. I'm very lucky I have tried this product, this is very expensive for me and I know I'll not be able to purchase this again in the realm of possibility.

Have you tried any expensive and high-end shampoo before? Or you're currently using one?

Good Times!~

Product Review: Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo

Wednesday, September 05, 2012

Yay for the second post of the day! I actually planned to make it three or more??? Wish me luck guys :D I hope the coffee kicks in. I already had two cups and I don't want another because I'm early later for some errands. So now another long overdue product review (whoa, that's a rhyme), do you still remember my post about my first conditioner for color-treated hair?If not, you can read my review here. I really love the effect of Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy on my locks! I'm already on my 4th bottle of that conditioner and one bottle usually lasts me a month with everyday use. Do you  agree that in order to achieve maximum results of a product you should use the whole product line? I'm a believer of this before but now I have doubts after using this shampoo. Thank goodness, I'm not using this on a daily basis or I'll end up with a barbie doll hair that not-so-smooth-and-silky-to-touch after giving her a bath. Or it's just my doll? Hahaha!

Okay on to my review, I bought this shampoo months months ago and I'm just halfway through the bottle. At first I'm so excited because it's a tandem of both shampoo and conditioner so I have high hopes that this will make my color-treated hair more healthy and shiny. Well the first few weeks went well but months later I noticed something. It's not good nor bad, so-so methinks.

I tried working it with the conditioner. Yes it worked but I ended up using another shampoo. I set this aside and use another shampoo plus the Color Me Happy conditioner. I'm still thinking if I'll give this another try, maybe if I ran out of shampoo.
Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo
COLOR ME HAPPY

Show Yourself a Good Shine
Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo
Why we love it:
Shampoo with botanical silk cleans to reveal natural shine. Bring a smile to your face with a luscious dose of radiance and protection for your color-treated hair. This creamy formula provides moisturizers to protect your color-treated hair and deliver all that shimmers and shines.
size:  355ml (12 FL OZ)

price: 229.75php (Around $5.40+)

place bought: Sm Fairview Supermarket

instructions for use: Lather up and rinse this formula and you'll be smiling all day.

ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Citric Acid, Passiflora Incarnata Flower Extract, Zea Mays (Corn) Silk Extract, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Extract, Fragrance, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Linoleamidopropyl PG Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Red 33, Red 4, Yellow 10

What I like:
  • It's affordable.
  • A little amount of product goes a long way.
  • Colorful and chic bottle.
  • Has manufacturing and batch date.
  • It has a great smell.
  • Cleanse my hair thoroughly.
  • Lathers well.
What I don't like:
  • Dried my hair a bit.
  • My hair feels coarse after shampooing :(
Will I repurchase? No because I don't shampoo my hair everyday so this product will last me a long way. I find this product ineffective in terms of adding shine and health to color-treated hair.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3.75/5 rating. I guess I have to find another shampoo for my color-treated hair. I thought using this shampoo together with the Color Me Happy conditioner that I really love will make the best of both worlds. But it's okay at least I've got to try it and see for myself.

Have you tried the new Herbal Essences line? Which one is your favorite? Stay safe!

Good Times!~

Just Sharing

Saturday, July 14, 2012

O-M-G! It's end of season sale once again. I know it's crazy! I'm planning to lift my no buy mode (parang coding lang =P) hehehe! but here's my bipolar personality again. I would love to shop new clothes and shoes since the last time I bought a pair of flats was months ago. But I'm worried that I will regret buying those stuffs. It's weird, I know! I'm also confused what brand to buy. Most stylish items are on sale so this will make me go nuts! Even if I already made my shopping list that I restricted only to three items (THREE ONLY) I'm sure that I will ignore it most specially if the items that caught my eye is 70% off the tag. I'm an impulse buyer before. I hope I can resists the power of temptation. So before I go on bargain hunting later, I want to share this post so you know what to expect on my next reviews.

Please bear with me for the long introduction. If you can still remember my post about being lucky on giveaways, well thanks to my lucky charm because I also won from other giveaways that I joined. This GC is for my son Kenzo and the hubby who loves eating chicken and burger :D and oh, coffee float is enough for me.

Certified Foodies Giveaway
500PHP GC from Jollibee
My sister-in-law gave me this new product from AVON to review. She said this new hair treatment is on a special introductory price that's why she wanted me to give it a try. The hair treatment costs 199php. It's a steal because the shampoo is free.
AVON Advance Techniques 3D
This loot came from my sister. It's a way of saying thank you from asking a very important favor. She also saw this Tiny Buds baby powder at The Landmark baby section. At first I thought its for Kenzo but she told me to try it as finishing powder. When I read that it's made of real rice grains, I doubt it on keeping oilies at bay. But I have to road test it first, who knows this can be an HG material.
I will end my post here dearies! My allergies are still there but not as itchy as day 1 and 2. I'm just worried that it will leave marks. I accidentally scratched them while sleeping :(  So to those who are going to spend their day shopping, take care and relax! Enjoy your day.

Good Times!~

No Buy Mode

Saturday, June 23, 2012

I'm on a no buy mode! After winning so many skin care and makeup products which I'm already road testing one by one now, my plan is to save the money that the hubby gave me to buy beauty stuffs. I told him that I'll keep the money and buy new shoes and clothes instead. He's very supportive and when he saw that I'm running out of shampoo, he just bought one. I also received this chiffon sleeveless top from him. The IOPE retinol cream and AVON Advance Techniques came from my sister's stash. I went to our house last week and peeked into her drawer and I saw both. She told I can bring them home if I want. And tadaaa! Here it is :D
L-R: Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo, Black Chiffon Sleeveless Top, AVON Advance Techniques Anti-Frizz Serum, IOPE Retinol TX cream
That's all for now, I have plenty of product reviews on my drafts and I don't know which one to publish first. I'm using two new organic soaps so watch out for my review. Happy weekend everyone!

Good Times!~

Would You Dare Try Dove Hair Care?

Thursday, March 08, 2012

Hi dearies! I'm still hopeless about my laptop. Until now I'm having a hard time using our old school desktop PC. I don't know if my good 'ol laptop will survive the accident happened weeks ago. Some photos about my product review doesn't have back-ups therefore I need to grab and borrow some images from the internet if there's any. How I wish I can turn back the time and copy all the photos that I cherish to a flash disk and worry nothing. Sorry for being sentimental, let's just talk something new here.

I'm very curious about Dove's new TV commercial, and laughs whenever I see the wedding pictorial scene. I'm not a fan of Dove specially their soaps because I find it too moisturizing making my skin greasy and shiny. I also don't like the scent, it's unpleasant for me. But when I heard that Dove hair care is now in our country, I give my self a benefit of a doubt. Why not try their hair care products if everyone is talking about good reviews about it. My sister also told me that two variants of their conditioner smells divine and convinced me to try it too. I'm a bit hesitant because my hair suffered from worse hair fall before. I've tried different shampoos and conditioners from commercial and organic ones until Pure Beauty Tsubaki Treatment shampoo and Lorys Hair Creme came to rescue. Trying new hair care products means starting back at one. But I think Dove really wanted me to try their new products.

I had my waxing session at Lay bare SM Fairview and to my surprise they were giving samples of Dove shampoo and conditioner from the damage therapy line.
Dove Hair Care Range
For hair that's damaged or experiencing the symptoms of damage, such as split ends and breakage. With fibre active technology to internally reconstruct hair and prevent future damage. Hair is completely revitalized with amazing softness and smoothness.

Dove Hair Care Range
Dove Hair Care Range
A little trivia from Dove:
Did you know? Even if you don't realize it, pollution, frequent styling and even simple brushing and towelling can damage your hair. Damage is the cause of dryness, frizz, hair fall and split ends.

Sounds promising... Will Dove give me an experience of beautifully strong, soft, smooth ans shiny hair that's free from damage? Hmm, let's see. Have you tried the new Dove hair care range? What's your favorite?

Product Review: Pure Beauty Tsubaki Treatment Shampoo

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

image from Google
I’m always on the search for the right shampoo on my hair. My hair is colored and it tends to get dry after one month of coloring. I’ve read that Shiseido Tsubaki is good in terms of giving a soft, shiny and healthy hair. But the price is a bit steep for me. So the cheapskate in me found an alternative that can be compared to Shiseido’s quality.
Pure Beauty Tsubaki Treatment Shampoo
Pure Beauty Treatment Shampoo is enriched with Camellia Seed Oil from Japan to help nourish and moisturise dry and damaged hair. This frequent use shampoo gently cleanses and strengthens each strand of hair, leaving your hair smoother and more manageable with an exceptional shine.

The pump that dispenses the right amount of product which I really like

The product looks like this, sorry for the blurry pic

  • Inexpensive for a 500ml bottle that will last me a long time since I only shampoo my hair three times a week.
  • Cleans my hair squeaky clean.
  • My hair is soft and shiny after use.
  • I love the unique scent.
  • The packaging is sealed so you know it’s fresh.
  • Batch number and production date is stamped on the bottom of the bottle.
  • Comes in a pump bottle and dispenses the right amount of product.
  • The color and design of pump bottle is classy.
What I don't like:
  • The scent doesn't last that long.
Will I repurchase?Yes! I'm also planning to buy the conditioner and see how it works on my hair.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. I recommend this to people with thin limp hair like mine. If you want to try a shampoo with Camellia Seed Oil, I guess this an inexpensive alternative to Shiseido Tsubaki’s Line.
