Product Review: Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

How do you cope with the breezy cold weather lately? I hate this bed weather because it makes my whole body paralyzed! Yes, I've been sleeping the whole day for 3 days now. I'm not sure if the weather is the culprit but whatever it is, I need to be back on my blogging stint. I have pending reviews from last year and I'll make it up to you. So to start, let me share my thoughts on another expensive hair care product- Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche shampoo. I got this product when I won the giveaway that I joined last August 2012. I'm using this together with Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Masque for around 4-5 months now. FYI, I shampoo my hair twice or thrice a week only that's why a bottle of shampoo lasts a long long time. I know Kerastase hair care products are one of the most expensive line in the market that's why I'm expecting a 100% result after every wash of giving my color-treated hair the shine that it needs.
Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo
When color treated hair comes up against daily attacks such as heat styling irons, UV rays, external pollutants and chemical treatments, Kerastase Reflection BainChroma Riche will soften and bathe the strands to help hydrate and give back intensity and shine. Formulated with Kerastase Aqua-Ionic System, it re-sources with essential elements and fills the fiber with micro prisms and light refractors, leaving your hair fibers with a luminous, mirror-like shine.

What I like:

  • Classy and luxurious packaging.
  • I like the scent, smells so good!
  • My hair looks silky and smooth.
  • The color of my hair retained it's vibrancy after so many washes.
  • No dandruff and breakouts on my back and in my forehead.

What I don't like:
  • The price! It's verrry expensive for a cheapskate like me
  • Even though the packaging is classy and looks luxurious, I prefer pump type bottle because I can control on how much product to dispense.
  • My hair feels a bit dry and rough as it needs conditioner afterwards.
  • Doesn't produce enough lather, I feel like using organic shampoo.
  • Weighs down my hair and makes it frizzy if I just let it dry naturally.
Will I repurchase? No, there's a lot of cheap and cost-effective shampoos out there to try.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. I'm having difficulty seeing the results :( Honestly, I really wanted to give this product another chance after emptying the bottle. I'm thinking of using this everyday starting today to see if there's any difference from my cons above. Maintaining a color-treated hair can be expensive and needs to much effort. You need to have a shampoo-conditioner-serum-treatment (masque, cream or oil) specially formulated for color-treated hair to maintain it's color and to avoid dryness. I'm very lucky I have tried this product, this is very expensive for me and I know I'll not be able to purchase this again in the realm of possibility.

Have you tried any expensive and high-end shampoo before? Or you're currently using one?

Good Times!~

Product Review: Kerastase Reflection Chroma Riche Masque

Monday, December 03, 2012

Hi loves! How's your long weekend so far? Hope everyone's enjoying this long vacay. This review was scheduled yesterday but the fail blogger in me sits in and I forgot to schedule it on time. Bummer! Well, if my memory serves me right this is the first expensive hair treatment mask that I have to date. Since I have color-treated hair, it's very important to give it hair treatment every week so that it'll look shiny and soft to touch. I also wanted the color to last longer than usual and make it more vibrant so I really need to invest on hair treatments that's cost- effective.

I did not plan to invest on a whooping thousand plus pesos hair treatment product. I know there's a lot of commercial brands that will not break my bank. But if I have a chance to use an expensive one, then I grab the chance. Thanks to my luck on joining contests because I won this hair treatment that I considered a luxurious one! To tell you honestly, I really take advantage of this product since this is very pricey. I use this once a week and let the magic stays on my hair for more than 10 minutes even if the instructions says 5 :P I know it's so wrong not to follow instructions (I did it thrice) and good thing nothing bad happened to my hair.
I'm already half- way the tub. If only I can make this lasts the whole year so that every DIY treatment will be worth the price I'll do it. But nothing lasts forever so I'll just enjoy and cherish every moment I use this product on my locks. If you see my pictures and you noticed that my hair is tamed and the color is vibrant it only means that I've used this hair mask on my locks.

What I like:
  • Classy packaging.

  • My hair feels soft and smooth after using this mask.
  • Easily accessible.

  • I didn't experienced any hair fall.
What I don't like:
  • Very pricey!!!
  • In a tub, a bit unhygienic to use if you just dip your fingers every after use.
Will I repurchase? Maybe, if I have the money to spend on a hair care product that really works why not. But as of the moment, I'll save my money first :)

Recommendation:
I give this a 4/5 rating. This hair masque gives my hair the boosts that it needed like softness and shine. The color of my hair stays vibrant after a month of using it once a week and there's a luminous effect after every wash. I love this product but the price is very steep for a cheapskate like me. But if you have the money, this is a very good buy for making your hair vibrant! It's ok to spend on luxurious treatment once in a while but if you're a cheapskate like me, I think there's a lot of cheaper hair mask treatment out there to try that can give the same results. If you want an affordable hair treatment product that works, I recommend you to try Lorys Snake Oil and Duo Chocolate variants ^^

Have you tried Kerastase hair treatment products? What's your favorite?

Good Times!~
