Product Review: Skin Beautanicals Organic Arbutin Soap with Argan Oil

Monday, January 19, 2015

I've been suffering from dry and flaky skin for months now. It started last December because of the cold weather. I'm used to this condition and I'm sure that I'm not alone. The colder the weather, the drier the skin because the humidity level (moisture in the air) tends to be lower than the usual during cold months. So it's not an excuse to ditch the moisturizers even if you have normal skin/oily skin types during cold months cause your skin will be needing it too.

Aside from creams and lotions that contain moisturizers, we also need to look for a soap or body wash that will help lock in moisture in our skin after taking a bath. Beauty oils are in the limelight of skin care nowadays. From rosehips-tea tree-grapeseed-olive-jojoba-sunflower-camellia-marula to argan oil, name it and I'm sure beauty gurus around the globe have tried a couple of them. Morrocan Argain Oil is the "liquid gold" for dry hair and dry skin. Skin Beautanicals by Jianne Skin Essentials sent me their Organic Arbutin Soap with Argan Oil to try and after using the soap for more than a month, I'm ready to share my thoughts about it.      Hi dearies! My apologies for being MIA (missing in action) :( Internet connection is acting up for the fast few days hence I wasn't able to update you with product features and reviews plus another giveaway that I've promised last week. Anyhoo, I received a new batch of organic skin care products from Skin Beautanicals by Jianne Skin Essentials. When the products came in our doorsteps, I was surprised to see a new variant of soap that I'll be road testing in the coming weeks. This is the snail filtrate repairing soap. Snail slime or mucus had been the talk of the town last year and early this year for its healing properties. If my memory serves me right, I've seen tv and magazine features about skin care products containing this 'miracle' ingredient from the snail. According to what I've heard, the slime/mucus/filtrate has healing and repairing properties for problematic skin.

The brands that I saw carrying a snail line are mostly Korean brands. I think they're the ones who first introduced the snail mucus or slime as an anti-aging and repairing agent in the world of skin care. That's why I was intrigued when I saw Skin Beautanicals Snail Filtrate Soap, the first organic soap with snail filtrate that I'll be trying to date. Of course not only the snail soap that made me giddy to road test their products because Ms. Roxanne of Jianne Skin Essentials also included their organic arbutin with argan oil soap and arbutin lotion for me to try. But first let me share with you information about these products so click CONTINUE READING and find out :)

Aside from my face, the next sensitive part of my body are my pits! Yes, my underarms are sensitive because it's very prone to chicken skin after waxing, darkening because of hormonal change before my monthly period and from trying different brands of deodorant and antiperspirant out of curiosity.

After giving birth, my underarms got so dark because of pregnancy hormones and I know it's normal. My mom said it will return to the original color after a few months, all I have to do is wait. But the stubborn me got insecure whenever I raise my hand so I decided to buy a bleaching cream from unknown brand and applied it for two days. Worst thing happened, my underarm experienced itching and peeling and the color was still the same. After this incident, I just waited for the original color to come back and yes it did!

Fast forward, three years ago I discovered my HG antiperspirant and deodorant, it's from a well known brand that's popular to be hypo-allergenic and great for sensitive skin. But because I'm embracing natural and organic skin care now, I think now is the time to try an all natural whitening, antiperspirant and deodorant that promises promising benefits. So here it is, my honest to goodness review of Natura Organics Cellular Radiance Triple Lightening Deo Roll-On Serum. Click CONTINUE READING find out!

Product Review: Natura Organics Himalayan Mud 21-in-1 Soap

Monday, July 21, 2014

If my memory serves me right, three years ago I had a hatred feeling against a certain black soap. It's not the black bleaching bar that I've tried from one of the famous brand of organic skin care products in our country today. Yes, it's a face and body soap that left a terrible effect on my face. The thing that irks me most is that it's organic. I have high expectations on that soap because before I get hold of it, I've seen positive reviews on their website and some beauty blogs. I really never expected that the "good" would turn so bad as in so so bad in my case.

So to end a long story short, after that experience I veered away from that brand. If you're adventurous with soaps I'm sure you can guess what kind of soap I'm saying here. I will not mention the brand, past is past and I've buried that sad experience. But today, I want to share a good news  :) I never thought that my fear of using a black-colored soap with ingredients that I'm not familiar with will turn into a delight. I think I want to rejoice because I've tried a black soap that didn't burn my face (this was the terrible effect that I have mentioned above) and made my skin healthy looking. Excited to find out why I'm raving a black soap today? Click CONTINUE READING to see my thoughts on Natura Organics Himalayan Mud 21-in-1 Soap :)

Product Review: Natura Organics Cellular Energizing Body Wash

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

Hello dearies! Hope you're having a productive day even if it's scorching hot outside. I was out the whole day last Monday and I really felt the heat. The sun, the wind and the pollution combined made my skin dry and burned! Literally, I got a sunburn even without swimming. Before I went outside last Monday, I make sure that I applied an ample amount of my trusted sunblock. I was armed with an umbrella and wore a not so thick long-sleeves shirt to protect my skin. But boy oh boy, the heat coming from the sun is sweltering that I can't even stay in one place with minimal ventilation. But I have no choice because I was organizing my father's papers so I have to go back and forth to that office. When I got home yesterday, all I to do want is immersed myself inside the pail. So when I'm about to lather my skin with my favorite soap, I felt the sunburned area stinging and the soap's lather was making it itchy and painful. Good thing that Natura Organics sent me their Cellullar Energizing Body Wash because it saved my skin from the irritation and itchy feel that I have right now. I'm really planning to use this body wash next week but the stinging sensation that I have right now because of the wind/sunburn made me use this product.

I guess it's too early to give this product a review but because I've used it four times already for two days and saw the effects immediately, then ow is the right time to say my thoughts about the product. It's the perfect buddy for my tired and irritated skin. If you want to know more about the product and my full review click CONTINUE READING and find out!

Product Review: Natura Organics Fruit Bio-Active Complex C- Miracle Body Polish

Ah body scrubs! First thing that comes to my mind when someone says exfoliate. There are different types of body scrubs in the market today and I'm sure you're having a hard time looking for the one. I've tried more than 5 brands of body scrubs before and I can say that based on the scrubber used as the main ingredient, you can see really tell which one will agree to your skin. There are salt type body scrubs, paste type with very fine beads, cream type with fruit seeds or fiber as exfoliant and etc, etc. I presume that you all know I'm an avid fan of organic products and I'm still on search for the best or at least better alternative to chemically-harsh skin care products in the market today. As for the body scrubs, I think I haven't found the best in terms of the quality and price but I've discovered one of the cost-effective especially if you're into luxurious body scrubs. I'm a cheapskate that's why even if the product is worth the price, I'm still having thoughts if I'll push through with it or just look for another alternative.

I think this body polish comes with a hefty price tag compared to the brands that I've tried before but if you'll look closely to the ingredients, the natural ingredients used are of high quality and yes they are expensive too. Take for example the grapeseed fiber used as scrubber, I love eating grapes but whatever season we have the price of this fruit is high compared to other fruits in the market. But if you have the money to splurge a little on a skin care product that contains effective ingredients then I recommend you try this body polish. So without further ado, here's the review of Natura Organics Fruit Bio-Active Complex C-Miracle Body Polish. Click CONTINUE READING to know more about the product.

Product Review: Natura Organics Cellular Radiance Intensive Hand Repair Cream SPF50

Friday, April 04, 2014

My hands are the most overworked/abused part of my body because I have hands-on job everyday. From the time I wake up, my hands are ready to do different tasks like cleaning the house, washing the dishes that includes cleaning feeding bottles and if time permits do a light laundry. Aside from mommy duties, I also spent more than five hours on the computer typing articles to be published on this blog. I admit that at an early age I have vein-y hands. My grand mother said I got it from the stress. I'm also allergic to laundry detergents and dish-washing liquids that's why my hands are dry and itchy after washing the dishes and doing the laundry. If you'll ask me if I have a separate skin care product to lessen the itchiness and dryness on my hands, my answer would be none not until Natura Organics sent me a tub of their hand cream. Thanks to Ms. Ophelia of Ophelia_NaturaOrganics for this heaven-sent product.

I'm an OC mommy but I'm not that vain in taking good care of my hands. All I have in mind  is that the lotions that I'm using in my body will also do the job in the moisturizing department of my hands. I'm truly wrong because hand creams are very essential and important part of ones skin care. I'm lucky that I've got the first dibs on this product from Natura Organics and I'm very much confident to say that this hand cream made a big difference on the texture and tone of my hands. Now I agree to the phrase "yung kamay mo parang hindi sanay sa trabahong bahay" (Your hand looks like not used to household chores). Even the hubby felt the difference on the texture of my hands one time and asked what did I do to the flaky and dry part on the sides of my fingers. I told him my secret-now-not-secret weapon to combat dry and irritated hands. Excited to see the full details of my review? Click CONTINUE READING and smile!

Product Review: Natura Organics Cellular Radiance Powerful Lip Scrub

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

Hello dearies! The weather is still chilly even though the sun's up high in the sky. I've been battling with dry skin and now this became serious when we went to Nuvali last Friday for my son's field trip. The wind there was very strong and it made my hands very dry. I was wondering if I got a windburn and when I checked it at home yes it is :( Not only that I felt my hands very rough and dry, my lips too suffered from wind burn.

The solution to dry and chapped lips are lip therapy treatments or heavy duty lip balms but there's another solution that will slough off dead skin cells on the lips. It's a lip scrub! Fret not, I know you're thinking that scrubbing dry and chapped lips is painful but if you'll be using a lip scrub that contains very fine scrubbers, then think again! I'm very excited to introduce to you a lip scrub that doesn't only exfoliate lips but can make it look healthier, rosy and plumper! I've been using this Cellular Radiance Powerful Lip Scrub from Natura Organics even before I experienced wind burn. I guess it's time to say my thoughts on this amazing product. I never thought that lip scrub will be a life saver and a lipstick buddy. So without further ado, here's my honest to goodness review of Natura Organics Cellular Radiance Powerful Lip Scrub.
