Throughout history, they’ve brought the latest gadgets into use, learned new means of communication, and maximized more efficient cooking and housekeeping methods in order to adjust to the dynamic changes in society and their transitional role in it.

     From light bulbs and typewriters in the 1800s, to the washing machine and the refrigerator in the early 1900s, to the telephone in the 1950s, inventions and innovations that had to do with everyday living were always the woman’s domain. The advent of modern appliances had a profound impact on the 20th-century woman, changing the way she cooked, cleaned and cared for her family, and, eventually, how she lived her life beyond her home. Plug-in conveniences brought about a household revolution, one that would eventually change women’s lives, and enable them to enter the workforce and contribute to the economy.

     Vivo Philippines, in the true spirit of a Filipino Christmas, decides to give back to the heroic deeds of the soldiers who fought in Marawi by spending the afternoon with them last December 17 at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Hospital in V. Luna, Quezon City.

     The special outreach affair was attended to by Vivo employee-volunteers who interacted with the 150 soldiers and their families and entertained them with song and dance performances. The brand’s celebrity influencers were also in attendance to give joy and encouragement to the Marawi freedom fighters. KZ Tandingan, Darren Espanto, Jason Dy, and Kisses Delavin also shared their talent in one afternoon of gratitude-giving, to the delight of the soldiers and their families.

     Well-loved Filipino all-male group BoybandPH recently celebrated the first anniversary of their official establishment as a band last December 9, a Sunday, at the Vivo All Screen Experience Mall Tour in Starmall Alabang.

     BoybandPH is composed of Russel Reyes, Niel Murillo, Ford Valencia, Tristan Ramirez, and Joao Constancia, five talented young men who pursued their dreams and became the first winner of the musical reality show in ABS-CBN, the “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” December last year.
