5 Countries which spend more on weight loss

With the increased number of problems that are resulting out of the obesity or weight gain, there is increased awareness in different nations and the people staying in them. Obviously, the countries that rank top in obesity percent of people are also likely to spend more on the strategies that help in weight loss. But, some assumptions might go wrong due to which the return of investment that is spent in weight loss strategies might not be so impressive. This low ROI could be due to several reasons like choosing wrong strategy, not implementing the strategy in a right way, not educating the people about the important of controlling the weight and several other unnoticed issues that would cause the failure of the strategies employed for weight loss.

All the efforts that the countries have put in for motivating and bringing the desired weight loss might not have succeeded. While few countries were able to increase the expected life span of the individuals by investing in health care not all of those who spent more of their budget on health care have succeeded in achieving their goals either on weight loss or on other health aspects and problems. Let us look at those top 5 countries ranked in terms of spending expenditure on obese.

Luxembourg:

This country had occupied the 5th place from top with the health expenditure per capita measuring at $4755 of which majority share is spent on addressing obesity problem . Though when compared to the total health care expenditure spent in the year 2012 by all nations, $80000, this amount might be low but when assessed on the share of the per capita GDP of this country and the amount that is spent on obesity, this country wins the 5th place and becomes successful in achieving the life expectancy of 81.1 years which is truly good. So you can imagine the level of income that this country is investing on obese and has given priority for weight loss products like hcg hormone drops.

Netherlands:

Slightly higher than the Luxembourg, this country has spent $5099 which is evaluated at 11.4% Pct Obese and was able to achieve the life expectancy of 81.3 years. The amount spent in health care is evaluated as 11.9% of GDP which is why it was given the forth place in the race. Of course this country has spent larger percent of the GDP when compared to the overall amount spent by US.

Switzerland:

Though we might have considered this country as the best place for commercial business or for tourist place, we are likely to find the residents suffering with obesity for which the country has taken necessary measures of spending $5643 which counts up to 11.% of the per capita GDP. When the Pct obese is taken into consideration it was found to be around 8.1% with which the life expectancy was achieved at 82.8 years. This country got the third place for spending on obesity.

Norway:

By now you would have expected that Norway stood second in the ranking for spending on obesity with nearly 10% Pct obese and 9.3% of Pct GDP with the amount counting to $5669. The life expectancy however was not in the best position when compared to Switzerland; it is just around 81.4 years. Hope the expenses would continue the same for the next coming years.

United States:

It is really tough to believe that United States in spite of being ranked first for spending in health care industry is still not able to increase the life expectancy more than 78.7 years. The overall amount spent in health industry is counted as $8508 which is at 17.7% pct of GDP and 28.5% on Pct Obese.

With this it is clear that the nations are acting against the obese and spending their income on the betterment of their citizen’s health.
