Hi-5 Philippines Nationwide School Tour

     Kenzo loves watching television most especially if the program is educational. He's easily distracted when there are puppets, singing, and dancing in front of television that's why when he heard the them song of Hi-5 first thing in the morning, he will immediately rise in bed.

     So when I've heard that there will be a Filipino version of Hi-5, we're all smiles and excited to watch the show in our own language. I'm more happy and excited to announce that Hi-5 Philippines will be having a school tour nationwide. Actually, the tour already started last August so for more information about this nationwide event from Hi-5 scroll down please.

     Followers of this generation’s edutainment program of choice, Hi-5 Philippines, are getting a chance to experience the exciting and fun-filled learning activities that the vibrant cast has to offer as it sets out on a nationwide school tour. Hi-5 members Gerard, Aira, Rissey, Alex and Fred are gracing school events with their trademark bopping performances of all-time favorite Hi-5 songs.

     The Hi-5 Philippines nationwide school tour is a way for kids to get up-close and personal with the cast, as they bring their upbeat songs and creative dances for kids to see live. Aside from showcasing their musical prowess, the cast will also incorporate cool learning segments through workshops and games.

     The Metro Manila leg of the school tour started in August at St. Paul College Pasig, wherein preschoolers were treated to a morning of singing, dancing and adventures, capping off their “Buwan ng Wika” celebration. The cast followed through by visiting the preschoolers in Miriam College, St. Mary’s Academy-Caloocan, Sienna College–Taytay, and Makati Hope Christian School, to name a few.

     There are still a lot of opportunities to catch the cast on tour. They are scheduled to throw a Hi-5 party at Assumption College in Antipolo, Hope Christian High School, and Golden Acres Elementary School in October. After its Manila run, TV5 aims to bring the Hi-5 experience to every kid across the country by rolling the school tour to private and public schools in the provinces.

UNIQLO x LEMAIRE Collection Now Available

     Dressing for the holiday season can be tricky here in our country. We have an erratic weather and sometimes it's unpredictable. For a country like ours, the type of clothes we wear should be in tune with the season.       I was invited to the launch of UNIQLO's special collection weeks ago at The Mega Fashion Hall. This is the last collection of the year and it is a collaboration with French designer LEMAIRE. Even though the collection is dubbed as luxury wear, I can say that most of the pieces can be easily paired with basics. Select UNIQLO stores now carry special collections only in its large stores in Metro Manila – SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Aura and SM Mall of Asia. These branches have the widest and most complete selection of apparels for women, men, kids and babies.      During the launch, my eyes were glued on the plaid skirts and the basic tees on display. Some of the pieces that were on display are so me. I like wearing basics because it's very easy to mix and match but the pieces from the collection have touches of luxury and elegance perfect not only for everyday wear but can also be key pieces in office or party outfit.

FWD Life supports PHA’s 52100 advocacy, a simple guide to remind people of the essentials of good health, with each number representing a daily target: five (5) servings of fruits and vegetables, two (2) hours maximum recreational screen time, one (1) hour of moderate activity, zero (0) sugared drinks, and zero (0) smoking/secondhand smoke.

     The campaign started with the FWD Motion online video challenge wherein participants post their workout videos featuring their passions and their variations to the four primary steps. It continues with the Live To Move Tour, a series of health and wellness-themed pocket events around Metro Manila which includes group activities called Move to the Beat (Hip Hop), Move to the Groove (Zumba), Move to Fight (boxing and cardio), and Move to the FWD Motion (MetaFit). It will culminate on October 24 with the Live To Move Grand Festival where participants will enjoy exciting activities and rewards in surrounding booths for free medical consultation, cooking sessions, group workouts, and a free-for-all wellness concert.

Quezon City 75th Diamond Jubilee Celebration Launch

     I'm a true blooded resident of Quezon City. I was born and raised in Quezon City, north area to be exact. Quezon City is the largest city of Metropolitan Manila and also called the "City of the Stars" because most of our showbiz actors and actresses resides here. Even though I've been living here for past three decades, little did I know of this town's history. I was surprised that Ex-President Manuel L. Quezon's house was inside Quezon Memorial Heritage House. Am I the only one who was surprised? Raised your hands if you also do! 

     I was invited to have a short tour to Ex-President Manuel L. Quezon's house last weekend. It was one hot Saturday but everyone invited were giddy to see what mysteries were hidden inside the house. No it's not the creepy kind of mystery but what lies behind the abode of this overlooked personality in Philippine history. A short tour inside his house below, scroll down please :)

     TRIVIA: The original location of Ex-President Manuel L. Quezon's house was in Gilmore St. New Manila and it was just transferred to Quezon City. It's a replica of their vacation house and some of the remnants from the old house was brought there.

     Before entering the house, I've stepped in a different kind of flooring because the tile's design is unique. The tour guide said that it was taken from the original house including the grills, doors, and windows.

     There were different sign boards hanging in the walls. These sign boards tell a brief story of each room and why it is an important part of the house.

     From Ex- President Manuel L. Quezon's room- his bed and cabinets, to the family's dining table, the children's room, guest room, and clothes of his wife Dona Aurora, every part of the house was timeless. I had goosebumps entering the rooms because of astonishment, it's like really living in the historic past.

     It was a two-storey house. There's a spiral staircase that will lead to the house's ground/first floor. More rooms can be seen there and some furniture including sala sets made of narra wood.

     TRIVIA: Manuel L. Quezon and Donya Aurora have separate rooms, they don't sleep together when the time that Manuel L. Quezon was diagnosed with Tuberculosis.
