     What is the essence of being a woman? This question has been on my mind for a very long time because of the beauty pageants that I often watched during  my high school and college days. It's nice to know that different beauty pageants here in our country became an inspiration to little girls and woman alike to build their self-esteem and intelligence. Beauty pageant title holders also became an inspiration to their nation and uplifts the spirit of every individuals. One of the prestigious pageant that I look forward to watch live on television every year is the Ms. Earth. If you're not familiar with the pageant, here's a little info about it:

The Miss Earth beauty contest is an annual pageant that focuses on environmental awareness. Started in 2001, the green-driven contest is organized by Carousel Productions, through the Miss Earth Foundation. With the theme "International Year of Water Cooperation,'' 90 candidates from around the world will compete in the 2013 Miss Earth beauty contest which will be held at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa on December 7, 2013. The proclaimed winner will become the spokesperson and ambassador of the foundation, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and other groups promoting care for the environment.

This year's advocacy will focus on eco-tourism as it contributes to the country's effort to use tourism as a means to help alleviate poverty. The Miss Earth pageant will show to the world how beautiful the Philippines is. Teresa Fajksova of the Czech Republic is the reigning Miss Earth. Karla Henry is the first Miss Earth from the Philippines. The first Miss Earth was Catharina Svenson of Denmark.

Belle de Jour (BDJ) Rendevouz: From Fears to Fierce

     Hello dearies! I just wanted to share with you another past event that I attended last July. This was my first event from Belle de Jour. I got excited when I saw BDJ's post on Facebook about the event that's why I joined their contest just to have an invite. Are you familiar with Belle de Jour? Well, Belle de Jour or BDJ is the maker of super awesome planners that fit everyone whether your a high school or college student, corporate lady and stay-at-home mom (that's me) or should I say in all walks of life, BDJ planner is for you!

     When I won this planner from a blog contest that I've joined last year, I was very happy because I'll be able to continue what I love doing during high school and college years- updating my dear diary! I love writing and a diary is a must for someone who wants to organize things in his/her everyday life through jotting down important notes. So back to the event, the theme of this year's Belle de Jour Rendevouz was from fears to fierce. It's a very exciting event because it covered something from fashion, travel, beauty and health. Product Review: Be Organic Aloe Jojoba Soap

     Hello dearies! I'm back with another review. But this time I let my hubby use this soap for thirty days. If you're wondering why I made him as my guinea pig, well it's because the soap is suited for his skin type. The soap that I'm going to introduce today is suited for oily and irritated skin. I presume everyone knows that Aloe Vera is one of the most widely used skin care product that comes from nature even during the old times. I can still remember our Aloe Vera plant that my grandmother planted in her backyard. Whenever we go to her house for a vacation and my cousin's skin got irritated, she will pick a leaf of Aloe Vera, wash it and get the gel coming out of the leaf. It's amazing that the itchy irritated and red like skin patches become tamed after the application of the gel. 

     Going back to my review, this soap is really suited to individuals with oily and irritated skin. Combined with jojoba oil that also makes the skin nourished and moisturized, the soap is another moisturizer in a bar. Don't get me wrong if I tell you that oily skin needs to be moisturized too. If you'll do your research, most oily skin individuals need to use moisturizer to protect the layer of the skin thus minimizing the irritation and less production of sebum. Well according to the hubby, after using the soap on his oily face he noticed that his skin feels smooth to touch. When he uses the soap on his body that has dry patches, he said that the itchiness lessened after taking a bath.
