Product Review: Silka Premium Whitening Papaya Lotion SPF30 with Milk and Honey

     When in doubt will you still say YES? Do you have the guts to say YES to a new skin care product because it promises more than what you're expecting? To tell you honestly, I've been skipping a few brands of skin care products in the display shelves because I think they don't work. I'm so picky when it comes to whitening lotions because for me fair skin is more than just the white complexion. Fair and flawless skin should be healthy and nourished. It must be protected from pollutants and damaging sun rays. So for me a whitening lotion must have the right amount of spf plus added skin beautifying ingredients.

     A few weeks ago, I was invited to an event where saying YES means a lot. Saying YES to all the things that we want to achieve. I presume you know that feeling- achieving what you have planned for so long but suddenly you lose hope because something is bringing you down. This also can happen in the products that we're using. Like for example in whitening lotion. Yes, I love using whitening lotion but I fear of basking under the sun and doing simple things like biking or playing with my son because I fear of getting dark. But because there's one brand of lotion that will make me say YES in doing what I'm afraid to do under the sun, I think having a fair and even skin tone without the fear of sunburn can now be achieved with Silka.

     I've been using Silka Premium Whitening Lotion in Papaya with Milk and Honey for more than two weeks now and I can say I had a wonderful experience using the product. I underestimated Silka's power before. My sister-in-law swears by Silka and now I believe in her statements. To tell you honestly, two weeks is so short to gauge Silka's whitening effect on my fair skin. I guess using this religiously will give me better results in the whitening department. But if you have morena skin tone, using this everyday, twice a day for a month will give you noticeable results.

It has a thick consistency

What I like:

• The price- pretty affordable because a 200 ml is less than Php 200.
• The scent- I'm surprised that it doesn't smell like baby powder. There's a mild but refreshing scent.
• It has a thick consistency but it's so easy to spread and apply.
• Once applied, the lotion is absorbed easily.
• It is very light and non- greasy.
• Moisturizes my skin feels instantly.
• It makes my skin soft and smooth to touch after application.
• It gives instant glow on skin after application.
• It contains a good amount of sun protection- SPF30 to be exact.
• It didn't gave me further irritation or allergies or whatsoever even though I've been using this lotion during the time I suffered from seafood related skin allergies.
• Batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the bottle.
• Available in 3 sizes: 50 ml, 100 ml, and 200 ml
• Easily accessible.

What I don't like:

• I didn't notice a fairer skin since since I'm already fair to begin with. 

Will I repurchase? Yes, it's in the realm of possibility.

Recommendation:

     I give this a 4.5/5 rating. Even though there is no significant change in my skin tone, this lotion is promising. Aside from the whitening department, we also need to consider the amount of spf and skin beautifying factors in a lotion. This also contains skin vitamins like milk, honey, and vitamin e so not bad for a very affordable lotion. I also like the scent and it's a plus for me. I have tried several brands of whitening lotion in the market that has the same effects in my skin like Silka but this one trumps in terms of scent and price.

     Overall, I highly recommend Silka Premium Whitening Lotion if you're looking for a non-greasy lotion that has a decent or should I say good amount of spf perfect for everyday use. But if you'll be staying for long hours in the sun, you still need to use a separate sunscreen for added protection.      According to the latest news I've heard, the rainy season officially started here in our country. But why still so hot? The weather is still humid and there are times that I feel burning under the sun. I run errands almost every day now. I've told you before that I have a love-hate relationship with summer. I have fair skin that's prone to sunburn. I'm afraid of basking under the sun because I know that my skin will get dark immediately without proper sun protection.

What I like:

• The packaging- it's in a spray bottle that is very easy to use. I can control the amount of product that I want to spray all over my body. Since this is spray type, I can use this to hard to reach parts of my body.
• The scent is okay with me. There's a minimal sunblock smell but not overpowering unlike other sunblocks that I've tried before that smells weird and funky.
• This is the most gentle sunblock that I've tried to date.
• It is easily absorbed bu the skin once applied.
• It's light on skin, I can barely feel that I've applied this sunblock on my legs and arms.
• Non-sticky and non-greasy.
• There's a cooling sensation once sprayed on the skin.
• No white cast on photos.
• Gentle even on kid's skin.
• No irritation, breakouts, or whatsoever.
• Easily accessible.
• This protected me from sun burn and prevented my skin from getting dark even if I'm exposed to sun rays in the afternoon. I usually run errands from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. 
• My soon-to-be sister-in-law used this sunblock during their Batangas trip. She's so happy that her skin tone remained the same after basking under the sun.
• Batch, manufacturing, and expiry date printed on the bottom of the spray bottle.

What I don't like:

• The price can be a bit steep for budget-conscious individuals.

Will I repurchase? Yes, I'm on my second bottle now!

Recommendation:

     I give this sunblock a 4.75/5 rating. I highly recommend this sunblock not only for summer but for the whole year round. If you commute every day, you need sun protection and this product from Belo SunExpert is your weapon against skin darkening and harmful sun rays.

Product Review: Biore UV Bright Perfect Face Milk

     Hi dearies! Sharing with you my thoughts on Biore UV Bright Perfect Face Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ that I've been using for more than a month now. Yes, it's been a month and I'm loving the effect of this Japanese sunscreen on my face and in my photos. I veered away from sunscreen before because I find this skin care product icky sticky. I resort to bb creams and face powders that contains high spf. I've learned that spf from bb creams and face powder is not enough to shield my face from the damaging rays of the sun.

     I've tried a few brands of sunblocks and sunscreen before but after finishing a bottle, I feel like something is still missing. Not the high spf number but the lightweight feel and other added ingredients to boost skin health while giving maximum sun protection. • The tube has a nozzle tip that dispenses the right amount of product.
• A little amount goes a long way.
• It has SPF 50 + PA+++ which is one of the highest numbers in terms of SPF next to 100. It filters about 98% of UVB (according to popsugar.com)
• This sunscreen is really water-proof.
• Biore UV Bright Perfect Face Milk is non-sticky.
• Applies velvety smooth and absorbs quickly on my face. 
• It is great as a makeup base too.
• No allergic reactions, irritations, breakouts, or whatsoever.
• It doesn't make my skin look and feels oily.
• There's no ugly white cast on photos.
• There are batch, manufacturing, and expiry date.
• It's now easily accessible. No need to go to Japan or to ask a relative or a friend buy this product for you.
• There's an English translation of product information.

What I don't like:

• The price can be a bit high for students and budget-conscious individuals but if you'll do the math, it can be cost-effective especially if you use it every day.

Will I repurchase? Yes but not for now because I also have the Biore UV Aqua Rich variant that I'll also be road testing soon.

Recommendation:

     I give this a 4.75/5 rating. Now I know why my friends from Japan highly recommend this brand of sunscreen. Biore UV Bright Perfect Face Milk is lightweight and feels velvety smooth on the face right after application. Always remember this: Do not stay too long in the sun, even while using a sunscreen product. Over-exposure to the sun is a serious health threat. The use of sunscreen is one way to reduce the danger of sun exposure.

I hate to admit it but the when it comes to using sunscreen on my face, I just consider on what's available in the market, any brand will do. I mean, there's no specifics for me so I always end up getting a zit or two. I presume all of you know that I call myself "nocturnal" because we always sleep in the morning and wide awake at night.       The event was held at Icebergs Eskimo Bob. They served these mouth-watering meals and my appetite was really satisfied that day! And to make the event a little cooler because of the hottest endorsers, they served a humongous size of Halo-halo! Perfect for a hot event on a hot summer day :P

    After the sumptuous lunch, the main program started. Two Lukes- Luke Jicain and Luke Landrigan shared their a little information about favorite product and service from Nisce Skin 'N Face. If you have no idea who these two Lukes are, well Luke Jicain- the Boracay bodies star/model and Luke Landrigan- world champ surfer now brand ambassadors for Nisce Skin 'N Face.      They also prepared some games for bloggers like "best pick-up line" and "sipit game". Mommy Lariza, Mother Earth and another blogger tied for 1st place. The three of them went home with goody bags from Nisce!

     The event was really fun. Nisce really never fail to make an event very meaningful especially to bloggers. I always feel especial whenever I attend their events. There's a lot of bonding and friendship happening :) 

     After the game, Ms. Geline Del Rosario gave her short speech and she's very grateful for sharing this intimate lunch with the bloggers and media men.
