Product Review: CalChews Calcium Soft Chews + Vitamin D and K

Monday, April 21, 2014

Finally, got another time to make a review. I miss doing product reviews specially if they're really effective! I'm always excited to share the good news as well as not so good news. If you'll ask me why not so good news is included here, well if I have a review of a product that failed my expectations, I want it to serve as a guide to consumers. I'm not saying that it doesn't patronize the product because it gave me negative reactions. Remember that we are all different and there are certain products that will work for me and not for you or vice versa.

Let's go back to the review. I've been seeing CalChews even before Sample Room announced that they'll be having samples of this calcium food supplement. For those who have no idea about the product, CalChews is first calcium supplement in the market in soft chew form that offers an easy and delicious way of getting one's recommended daily dose of calcium. It's the only calcium brand that is enriched not only with Vitamin D3 but also with Vitamin K – vitamins essential for optimum bone health. When I was pregnant with my son, I'm required to take Calcium for my baby's bone health. Almost all calcium brands in the market today look the same in terms of size and shape. I can still remember that during the time I'm taking calcium, I had a hard time swallowing the caplet. Now, I want to thank CalChews because it's now easier to take Calcium and in a delicious way too! To read my full review about CalChews, click CONTINUE READING and smile!

CalChews Calcium Soft Chews + Vitamin D and K

Important things you should know about Calcium, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K (taken from the literature at the back of the box)

Calcium is one of the most important minerals that our body needs. It is essential to maintain strong bones and healthy lifestyles. It has also been found to contribute to weight management, strong teeth, and helps with PMS and mood swings.

Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K both provide the perfect combination for a more superior Calcium Supplement. Vitamin D3 is essential for proper calcium absorption that helps prevent bone diseases such as osteomalacia and osteoporosis.

Vitamin K ensures that the full benefit of calcium is directed to where our body needs it most – our bones. Vitamin K is the vitamin that binds Calcium to our bones.

CalChews soft chew form makes it easier and more convenient to take. It comes in Rich Chocolate and Creamy Caramel Flavors making sure that you always get your daily calcium requirement in a delicious way!

CalChews Calcium Soft Chews + Vitamin D and K
Creamy Caramel and Rich Chocolate
What I like:
  • The price- affordable.
  • It's very convenient to take, no more worrying about hard to swallow calcium tablets!
  • It comes in two delicious flavors: Rich Chocolate and Creamy Caramel.
  • It comes in a very handy and travel-friendly box.
  • I can't assess the effect of this supplement on my bone density or bone health since the full-sized sample I got from Sample Room lasted only for a month. BUT BUT BUT, my father whose a dialysis patient tried this for one month. He's calcium level is below the normal range before taking Calchews. The doctor advised him to take calcium thrice (3x) a day. After a month he had his laboratory and WHOA! The amount of calcium increased dramatically faster than the calcium brand he's taking regularly.
  • Since it's in soft chew form, the body absorbs it faster.
  • Easily accessible.
  • Batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the box.

What I don't like:
  • Oh, it's addicting!!!

Will I repurchase: Yes Yes Yes!

Recommendation:
I give this a 5/5 rating! Even if I didn't see the significant results in my daily intake of CalChews, the laboratory of my father is one proof that this product is really effective and faster in increasing calcium levels in our body. He's also diabetic but his sugar levels did not increase while taking this supplement. BUT before taking anything inside your body I suggest you consult first with your doctor. Even though this is dubbed as a food supplement, not all individuals are advised to take Vitamin K. There's a caution that pregnant, breastfeeding moms and those who are also taking blood-thinning medicines should consult a doctor first. But none the less, I highly recommend CalChews! The calcium you can chew :)

Do you take calcium supplement daily? Have you tried CalChews before? Thanks for sharing!

Good Times!~

    1. Hello Aiko, yes this is a must try product. In my father's experience, hindi din maganda yung sobrang calcium sa body. Pede magkaron ng calcium stones sa kidney. So it's either Anlene or Calchews lang.

  10. People who live in the northeast often don't get enough calcium because we don't get enough sun, especially during the winter months. This is a good substitute.

  12. Patient compliance is critical- you could have the best product in the entire world, but if the person doesn't take it it doesn't matter much! I agree though, nothing beats real food. That being said, it looks like a fine product... I would consider looking at the difference between K1 and K2, though, as K2 is the one that plays a bigger role in bone health and calcium homeostasis.

There's no side effects during the time I'm taking this. On the BF part, it's better to consult your OB-GYNE on this matter.
