peeling gel- After cleansing, dry your face. Apply the peeling gel with a smooth/massaging motion until the dead skin cells are exfoliated. Then rinse off with luke warm water.

bright sleeping mask- As the final step in your night time skin care regimen, gently apply the sleeping mask to the entire face. Leave on while you sleep.

What I like:

• The price- is affordable.
• The packaging is cute and handy.
• A little amount of product goes a long way for both peeling gel and night time mask.
• I can feel tiny beads on the peeling gel but it's very gentle on the face while I'm scrubbing it.
• The sleep mask has a thick consistency and it's odorless.
• I like how my face feels squeaky clean after using the peeling gel.
• The peel gel has a faint scent. It's clean and fresh.
• I love that the peeling gel instantly brightens my face.
• I can see dead skin cells on my face falling off while using the peel and wash gel.
• The sleep mask is thick but easily absorbed by the skin once applied.
• No icky-sticky feel after the application of sleep mask.
• The sleep mask made my skin bright upon waking up. 
• No irritation,  breakouts, or whatsoever.
• There's an English translation to the Korean text for instructions of use.

What I don't like:

• Not easily accessible as there are only two branches of Leaders Cosmetics in the Metro.
• No batch, manufacturing, expiry date printed on the packaging.
• The list of ingredients are not clear.

Will I repurchase? Yes

Recommendation:

     I give this mask a 4.75/5 rating. I recommend this mask if you want to brighten your face in an instant. You have to use this mask for 2-3 times a week so that you'll see the maximum effect. If you have tight budget and wants to try the wonders of Korean face masks, then this brand is for you. This variant is multipurpose because it already has a peel and wash gel for day and sleeping mask at night. No need to buy a separate product so this one is perfect for students too.

Is Safe Drinking Water Really Safe?

     Life is so precious. We only live once that's why we must  nurture our mind and body the right way. Life is like water, it's one of the most important substances on earth. A man can live days without food but definitely not without water. Water is important and has many uses in our lives. One of the many uses of water is to satisfy our thirst. Let's talk about drinking water and how 'safe' potable water nowadays.

     The article posted by Rappler entitled "How safe is your drinking water," is a mind-opener. With easy access to drinking water nowadays, I think some of us are not sure if those mineral/purified drinking water are really safe to drink. But there some individuals who are very easy to persuade. I mean, as long as they see a sanitary permit or if the seal of the bottle is tightly closed then there's nothing to worry about.      Anyhoo, I want to share a not so good experience with water refilling stations. Because of what we had experienced before, I feel not safe with mineral and purified drinking water bought from the refilling stations. Yes, they are in a decent place, they passed the standards that's why they have license to operate but after these processes, the assurance that the mineral water sold are really clean and safe to drink doesn't stop there.

     From my experience, we bought a gallon of mineral water in a nearby refilling station. Knowing that they have many customers and we're recommended by our neighbors and family friends, we have a peace of mind that we are drinking clean and safe water. Not until the day that we bought a mineral water that smelled vanilla essence. We assumed that the container was used by another customer in making  'gulaman' and the refilling station wasn't able to clean the gallon properly. So there, the negligence of the workers that refilling station in keeping the containers clean leaked because of our experience.

     What if it's not 'gulaman'? What if some inconsiderate customers have used the container to store other kinds of liquid that we don't know. In the first place, these containers are supposed to be used for mineral/purified water only. But that's the truth I guess, we'll never know if the water that we deemed pure and safe is really safe. I'm not generalizing that mineral and purified waters sold in the market or in the refilling station is not safe. It's just that I think we need to be more vigilant and be mindful that these establishments are in following strict rules in terms of handling, preparing and storing the water that our family will drink.

     If we really want to make sure that we are drinking pure and clean water, I guess having an in-home water purifier will make us feel secured. We value life that's why we need to make sure we are what we drink and what we eat are clean, right? If we drink contaminated water, we are risking our lives because we all know that there are different kinds of diseases that we can get from contaminated and unclean water. Let's be vigilant and put the safety of our family at first. It's also our responsibility to make sure that we drink clean and safe water for the welfare of our family.

Product Review: Tony Moly Fresh Cleansing Tissue

     Hello dearies! I'ts been ages since my last review of cleansing facial wipes. This is one of the skin care essentials that I cannot live without. I always make sure that I have a back up in my bag or in my makeup pouch. I don't sport heavy makeup everyday or every time I go to events but I still use facial cleansing wipes because I like the feel of washing my face with only little traces of bb cream, lipstick, waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

     I made a review of Tony Moly Floria cleansing wipes here which I truly like. But when I received this variant weeks ago, I'm amazed because of the ingredients list because it contains baking soda and other beauty oils to remove makeup and leave the skin fresh and moisturized. What I like:

• The price is affordable because a pack contains 50 sheets. Some cleansing wipes that have 10 sheets per pack can cost you more than 100 php.
• The scent is not overpowering. It has a faint powder scent.
• The sheet is thicker than the regular baby wipes.
• Does the job in removing heavy makeup especially waterproof eyeliner and pigmented lipstick.
• My skin felt clean and refreshed after use 
• Doesn't sting my eyes.
• One sheet is enough for my entire face.
• Not dripping wet and almost dry unlike other facial wipes.
• Contains baking soda and essential beauty oils like lavender, olive, jojoba, argan, and avocado.
• My face looks moisturized after using this facial wipes.
• No breakouts, irritation, or whatsoever.
• Easily accessible, it's always available on Tony Moly's shelves.
• Available in 15, 30, and 50 sheets per pack. The 15 sheet/pack is great for trips.
• Manufacturing and expiration date printed on the package.
• There's an English translation on the Korean text.

What I don't like:

• Wasn't able to remove my waterproof mascara.

Will I repurchase? Yes!!! This is very nice in removing all the heavy traces of makeup and all I need is just one sheet.

Recommendation:

     I give this a 4.5/5 rating. This facial wipes/tissue from Tony Moly is another fave. I have tried another variant from Tony Moly before that I also like but this one is better because of the baking soda and beauty oils. Using this cleansing wipes also doubles as applying moisturizer on your face or moisturizing and prepping your face with baking soda because washing.

     I know there will be times that you are dead tired and just want to hit the sack right after cleaning all the gunk of makeup on you face. This will help you a lot but I will not encourage you to sleep right away. Washing your face no matter how sleepy and tired you are is one of your best defenses against nasty breakouts!

Via Mare's Brief History

     Unlike other cuisines’ penchant for presentation, Filipino cuisine is served in a more family-oriented manner–without the pomp and frills. And just as many islands there are in the country, so is the number of variations a single dish could possibly have.

     But things changed in September 1975 when Via Mare Seafood Specialty Restaurant opened its doors to the public. After the very first dish was served, Filipino cuisine was never the same again.

     The restaurant did not only change the Filipino’s perception of its own cuisine, it also brought global recognition to the sophistication and complex flavors of the Philippines. Via Mare’s chef Glenda Barretto, who has been at the helm of the restaurant since its inception, and her strong belief in the Filipino cuisine’s potential to be world class is what pushed the restaurant to keep outdoing its achievements.

GUINATAANG HALO-HALO (P98)

     This is my mom's favorite snack. I'll treat my mom on my next visit to Via Mare and she'll be surprised with this. Taro, purple yam and sweet potato stewed in rich coconut cream with rice dumpling, plantain banana and jack fruit- this comfort food gives energy with vitamins and minerals at the same time. Talk about go and glow foods!

     Oh, so this is puto maya. I was surprised to see the real puto maya. I thought it's just a puto (rice cake) prepared in a different way. It's my first time to see this Filipino dessert- glutinous rice steamed with coconut cream served with ripe mango.

     Another Filipino dessert that I considered 'heavy' as a snack. It's very filling. Carbo loading? Then this is the dessert for you!

     This Filipino merienda reminds me of my childhood. Every afternoon, my siblings will wait for the palitaw vendor to pass by our house. It's classic- poached rice patties with grated coconut and sesame seeds.

     They also have comfort food like arroz caldo, tokwa’t baboy, pansit, fresh lumpia ubod to name a few that's also serve during merienda.

     This rice porridge is served plain with egg or chicken for a savory meal. A comfort food perfect for cold weather.

DINUGUAN AT PUTO (P205)

     Some foreigners call it 'chocolate beef', it's one of the favorite dishes among Filipinos. According to Wikipedia, dinuguan is a Filipino savory stew of meat and/or offal (typically lungs, kidneys, intestines, ears, heart and snout) simmered in a rich, spicy dark gravy of pig blood, garlic, chili (most often siling mahaba), and vinegar. Paired with puto for a happy tummy meal!

     Rice porridge topped with adobo flakes, salted duck egg, crisp tofu, pork kilawin, fried wonton, garlic flakes and spring onions. Oh, super love this lugaw toppings because it's very filling and full of flavor! This bowl is good for sharing :)

     This is just a small version of the lumpia ubod- a spring roll of ehart of palm with pork and shrimp. The wrapper is made from scratch and surprisingly it's good. The texture is soft and a little chewy.

     Fried tofu and boiled pork in garlic-soy vinaigrette. One of my faves! I can have this anytime of the day.

     Via Mare's inimitable pasta delight of rice noodles with luscious shrimp sauce and savory toppings. Should I say more? The photo says it all!

     Ending scrumptious feasts on a sweet note are iced desserts such as halo-halo, mais con hielo, and guinomis. If you want to try these three cold desserts but you're already full, you can try the shooters.

     A small serving of halo-halo, mais con hielo, and guinomis served in a small glass. Satisfy your iced desserts cravings with these three.

     These offerings are good for sharing so fret not about the price. I was overwhelmed by the servings at first, o if I'll do the math, the price is okay. It's worth every peso you'll spend!
