      Hi dearies! I presume that you've already seen the collaborating works of Kiana Valenciano and Daryl Feril on my last posts. Now I'll give a short background on the award-winning illustrator Daryl Feril below and see up close the designs he made together with Kiana below :)

     Negros-based, award-winning illustrator Daryl Feril joins Kiana Valenciano in executing a special, bespoke collection of Save My Bag from Bergamo, Italy, for the Little White Box Pop-up Store in SM Megamall. The said collection calls for Feril to customize each bag with his unique illustrations, upon the client’s request, and under the guidance of Kiana as creative team captain.

     Feril, a Fine Arts graduate from La Consolacion College Bacolod, has worked previously with such top brands such as Alexandra Mor New York, Bloom Miami, Tory Burch, Lee Jeans, LVMH, among others. Not only that, he was also featured in the edgy Juxtapose Magazine published out of San Francisco. 

     Some of the prestigious awards he has received are: Silver Metal - Best Design - Editorial, Magazine Cover: aDoBo Design Awards 2015, Philippines; and 150 Emerging Talents in Art, Design, Illustration & Photography: ASIAN CREATIVES by Ubies, Tokyo. After a series of meetings, and subsequent creative discussions, Daryl was ready to interpret and execute Kiana’s vision for the collection: bespoke, with no two bags identical.

     “I really wanted to work on something local and Kiana couldn’t have been a better partner,” he says. Working with the bag’s material, hi-tech Poly-Lycra, which makes it lightweight and waterproof, was a challenge for Daryl. “What attracted me to Save My Bag? It’s the quality and its purpose. And of course the idea of painting something on the bag which I thought of doing before but didn't think that I could. It was my first time painting on fabric and it's a bit challenging but I'm glad it turned out well,” Daryl continues.

     And so, paint brush in hand, Daryl then worked on turning the bags into unique canvases, where he was able to express himself freely. “My idea is that, you can carry art through the different bags,” Daryl relates. “Each bag in the collection features different designs, thereby making them truly bespoke. But I also wanted the them to be close to my illustration style.”

     What then, exactly, is Daryl’s illustration and artistic style? “It’s a burst of floral, taking cues from nature which for me has some of the craziest patterns, colors and creatures,” he explains. “Inspirations evolve; sometimes they are based on what I observe around or through the people I meet. And as this is a collaborative effort, I took in inputs from Kiana too.”

     Gary Valenciano has always been supportive of his kids with regards to their respective career paths and endeavors. While his two sons Paolo and Gabriel have successfully entered showbiz just like him, his daughter Kiana, Instagram celeb and his unica hija, is steadily carving out a name for herself—this time in fashion. After having studied at the Raffles Design Institute and the famous Central Saint Martins in London, Kiana finally takes the plundge and marks her fabulous debut in the local fashion scene.

     Just recently, proud parents Gary, together with wife Angeli, joined other fashionistas at the opening of the Little White Box Pop-Up Store in Megamall, for the launch of a bespoke, Save My Bag collection, which Kiana took charge of as style curator and creative team captain.

     Noted for being the ultimate ‘it’ bag for the cool and fashionable set, Save My Bag is crafted entirely in Bergamo, Italy, and is made from hi-tech Poly-Lycra, making it ultra lightweight and rain proof. 

     Joining Kiana as artistic collaborator is award-winning illustrator Daryl Feril, whom she hand-picked to turn Save My Bag into a canvas for his one-of-a-kind illustrated artworks, after an initial introduction by eventologist Tim Yap, and a subsequent review of his portfolio, left her immediately impressed.

     Last week, I was invited to the launch of another first in the fashion industry- the ‘it’ bag crafted entirely in Bergamo, Italy — Save My Bag, designed for the cool and aspirational set by husband and wife tandem Stefano and Valentina Agazzi at SM Megamall.

     I've witnessed the unveiling of the latest collection by brilliant artists in the fashion industry. After studying at the Raffles Design Institute and the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London (where the likes of Stella McCartney and John Galliano matriculated) and already an Instagram celeb in her own right, Kiana is excited to plunge into the glamorous world of fashion, armed with her knack in trend spotting and her fresh, free-spirited yet functional attitude. And for her most anticipated debut, Kiana takes on the reigns as style curator and creative team captain of a special, purely bespoke Save My Bag Collection — totally chic, uber trendy.

• Daryl turned each and every bag into a unique canvas — allowing him to express his artistry freely. 
• Lycra is a challenging fabric to work on, he experimented with different media in order to perfect his technique, and turned to Acrylic paint as his chosen medium. This ensures that the paint sticks to the surface for longevity.
• The illustration style is very pretty which is a burst of floral, taking inspiration from nature which has some of the craziest patterns, colors and creatures. A collaborative effort, which Daryl took in inputs from Kiana.

OOTD: White Walls

     If you're a fan of the movie- Cars, prolly you're thinking that the title of this post will showcase those white walls! Cars movie fanatics surely have an idea that I'm talking about white wall tires. Well, this is Kenzo's second outfit of the day (OOTD) post for this year and I'm excited to share the outfit details below. 

     But first, the title of the post is somewhat connected with the word 'white', not the white wall tires that was mentioned in the movie (the scene of McQueen, Luigi, and Guido) because it's more of the color of Kenzo's outfit. Since white sneakers are sooo in, let me share with you his white kicks and why I chose the style and the brand after the jump :)

     So here's a short story about the brand and style of Kenzo's white sneakers. By the way, the hubby and I still believe in the saying "old school is cool" that's why we have chosen K-Swiss. If you're a 90's baby, I'm sure that you have heard of the brand before. We saw this white sneakers on display at Rookie USA Fairview Terraces and I fell in love with it immediately.

     I asked hubby's opinion first before buying this sneakers. And because he's a fan of classic and simple style sneakers, we agreed to buy the sneakers for Kenzo's P.E. shoes this coming school year but because it's simply stylish, Kenzo's been abusing the shoes already. Hahaha!

     Okay, so much for the shoes! We also bought this white Converse shirt at Rookie USA because it's on sale. For every cash payment transaction, buyers can score Converse and Levi's shirt for only Php 200. The original price of this shirt is Php 600+. What a steal!!! I'm not sure if the promo still applies until today though :(

     Last look how white this K-Swiss Hoke Strap sneakers because it looks different right now. Not that white white since Kenzo wears this more than twice a week. It's a bit hard to maintain white sneakers especially if an active kid wears it. Expect that it will get dirty every now and then.

     More than the maintenance of white sneakers, I'm happy that I've chosen this classic style. Simple yet stylish and wearable. Hope that Kenzo's feet will grow a little slower than the average rate. I want him to really enjoy wearing this sneakers because it's easy to style and yes, it's comfy too. This is Kenzo's outfit of the day (OOTD) when we visited KidZania Manila weeks ago and witnessed the launch of National Art and Design Academy.

     These fashion pieces were on display during the event. There was a pop-up store that showcased full range of Oxygen collab with Billboard on the spot. We also witnessed musical performances that made us vibe to the sounds of bands and DJ :)

     And to give us a glimpse of the collection, Sam Concepcion performed while the models strut in the catwalk for that much awaited fashion show. Those models showed us the how to style Oxygen x Billboard collection for everyday wear.

Penshoppe x Sandara

     The pambansang 'krung krung' is back! Last week Sandara Park visited the country because she's now an ambassador and endorser of Penshoppe! Sandara Park or Dara is the newest face of Penshoppe and last Friday, I was one of the few who witnessed her charm and beauty at the Penshoppe x Sandara presscon held in one of the prime hotels in Ortigas.

     Truly, the sweet and charming Sandara Park who is now a Korean K-Pop sensation showed us that she's a Filipino at heart. She answered the interview in Tagalog and shared to us that she really loves our country. More about the Penshoppe x Sandara below :)

     Sandara was interviewed by Champ Lui Pio and she gamely answered all the questions prepared by the invited press and bloggers that afternoon. She shared to us that even before she became an endorser of Penshoppe, she already liked the brand. Now that she's an endorser, Dara said the she's very proud and feel comfortably fashionable wearing Penshoppe's key pieces this summer season like the joggers, jackets, and skirts.
