Product Review: Nature Republic Aqua Collagen Solution Marine Hydro Gel Eye Patch

Monday, April 23, 2012

I'm not alone! Almost 80% of my friends and relatives suffers from sleepless nights leading to sleep deprivation. After giving birth three years ago my body clock became abnormal. My son's sleeping pattern is very abnormal. He's wide-awake at night and sleeping all day. Since I'm the one taking care of him, I need to follow his sleeping routine. But there were times that I really can't sleep and just wasting my time lying in bed. A sleepless night ruins everything. What's the most noticeable thing when you didn't get enough sleep or no sleep at all? It's our eyes! Dark under eyes and puffy eyebags are really obvious and can be a bit tricky to hide.

The most common solution to hide dark under eye is a concealer. There are lots of concealer to chose from. I'm not a makeup/beauty expert so I can't tell what a good concealer should be. All I know is that there are different kinds of concealer and finding the right one is a trial and error matter. What I want to share with you now is another remedy for those pesky dark eyebags. I'm not sure if I can call this post a review because some information are written in Korean. I don't understand it thus I lack the information regarding this thing.

I know Korean cosmetics offer a wide range of choices for makeup and skin care. Their the ones who introduced BB creams and I owe my better skin from using this. So when I received my Nature Republic loot that I won from a giveaway, I'm giddy to try products that were new to me. I saw this eye patch thing-y and always forgot the name because it's too long. It's called Nature Republic Aqua Collagen Solution Marine Hydro Gel Eye Patch ( hingal... hingal )

Nature Republic Aqua Collagen Solution Marine Hydro Gel Eye Patch
Nature Republic Aqua Collagen Solution Marine Hydro Gel Eye Patch
Is this the answer to my dark under eyes and puffy eyebags? Looking at the product alone and the word collagen on the package somehow gave me initial impression that this thing will work. But when I turn it on the other side, I don't see English translation of the product information, ingredients, manufacturing and expiration date. I also want to know if this eye patch is reusable. So thank you for the diagram that shows you how to use the eye patch

please excuse my droopy eyelids and freckles

I just used my phone camera here, that's why I wasn't able to show how dark my under eye was. No picture of the eye patch itself but looking from this on my under eye, it's like a jello/ Gel and a bit hard to remove from the packaging that it might break or something. It's thin but not paper thin. Gives a cooling sensation upon application and doesn't slides off my under eye even if I stand from time to time. It's very relaxing and those with sensitive nose will not be bother because it's unscented. Here's the result after 30 minutes:

I don't know if there's a huge difference from the before and after photo. I guess using this regularly will give the best results. But it feels really good specially when you want to relax and pamper yourself at home. I'll just rely on my Garnier BB Under Eye Roll On for the mean time to mask my sleepless nights.

How do you take good care of your eyes?Do you use under eye creams and patches? I appreciate all your recommendations. Thanks for sharing!

Product Review: Nature Republic Snail Therapy Mask Sheet

Friday, April 13, 2012

Hi! How's your day? Summer is already making its wave in our country. It's freaking hot outside and I perspire a lot! Every little move I do inside our house, I can see and feel my sweat running down my face and my back. I always tie my hair up because I know the dirt in my hair will be transferred on my face through sweat. Even though I do this the result is ginormous zits! My skin is really acting up lately. From whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and cystic acne name it and you can see them now on my face. I don't know if this is due to hormonal changes in my body because I just had my monthly period. It's weird that all of these wrath suddenly appears on my skin knowing that I haven't change my skin regimen for a long time now. Or maybe it's just our humid weather that causes flare ups on my face that is unsightly for me.

I'm desperate, I need help. I know I can't solve this overnight so what I need is to add something in my basic skin care routine. So it's time for me to use some of the products that I won last February. I opt to use this mask sheet from Nature Republic because I'm intrigued with the snail mucus thingy. I googled some information about snail slime that says can do wonders for the skin. Let's see what this can do with my icky face.

Nature Republic Snail Therapy Mask Sheet

What I like:
  • relaxing
  • mild scent
  • a little cooling effect
  • easy to use
  • the remaining formula is not dripping unlike other face mask
  • easily available
  • English text and diagram on how to use
  • decreased the redness on my zits and allergies
What I don't like:
  • gave me another cystic pimple the next day
  • leaves my face sticky after use
  • size of the mask doesn't adheres to the contours of my face
Will I repurchase? No, there's a lot of face mask variant out there to try.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. I think my skin is not "hiyang" with some of the ingredients that's why I break out more the next day. I'm not sure if snail is considered as seafood. I made a little research and I just got confused. So if it is, then I'm allergic to it. I have thyroid problem and a pinch of "bagoong" reacts on my skin immediately.

Any suggestions on face mask that's good for combination skin? Thanks for sharing!

Product Review: Purederm Make-Up Cleansing Tissues in Green Tea

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Hi everyone! I'm finally back on track after holiday stress and pigging out on unhealthy foods. My mind is set now to be back in shape and continue my product reviews on blog sphere. My first review this year came from a product substitute. I don't intend to buy this cleansing wipes because I already have my favorite wipes which is Neutrogena but I ran out of it so I need to look for a substitute because we are going out of town that time. I saw this facial wipes on the Purederm mask section and comes in three variants. I got Aloe Vera and Green Tea.

My New Baby + HG Under Eye Concealer and a facial wipes substitute

Monday, January 09, 2012

Hi dearies! I'm still on a hang over mode after the holidays and my brother, mother-in-law and my birthday celebrations. I know there's a lot of catching up to do. So many items to review and post updates to be done. I just want to share to you what I bought myself before 2011 ends and my new found HG.
Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Powder Foundation in OC10
Garnier BB Under Eye Roll On and Purederm Make-Up Cleansing Tissues
So far, I'm loving this new powder foundation and will road test it for a month so I can make a review. On the other hand, Garnier BB Under Eye Roll On is love! I can say it's my HG under eye concealer right now.

The Purederm facial wipes that I purchased before we left Manila also deserves a review here. I can't say that it can be a HG material but after 3 uses, it can be compared to my Hg facial wipes that is Neutrogena.

That's it for now, I need to lose all this holiday weight and stress so that I can get back right on track. Thanks for reading!

Baviphat Mini Orange Peeling Gel
The product beside its plastic seal
Another product review from a Korean skin care brand. I purchased this product because of its cute packaging and to have a comparison on my Purederm Dual Wellbeing Peeling Gel. This is my first product from Baviphat. I read somewhere that some of Baviphat's packaging is somewhat the same as Benefit cosmetics.

So on to the review. This is what Baviphat Mini Orange Peeling Gel claims:
This peeling gel helps to exfoliate dead skin to prevent acne. Contains Vitamin C that helps whiten and brighten your complexion.

This is how the Peeling Gel looks like
Baviphat Mini Orange Peeling Gel
size: 6g

price: 64 php (Around $1.50)

place bought: ebay.ph, multiply re-sellers
instruction for use: Before cleansing your face, remove your make up and apply a thin layer of the gel. Gently massage using your fingers in a circular motion to scrub off any dead skin all around your face for 1-2 minutes. rinse off and continue your cleansing routine. Use 2 times per week.
Baviphat Mini Orange Peeling Gel
This is what the white residue " dead skin"  looks like after rubbing the peeling gel on my face
What I like:
  • Comes in a cute orange-shaped container.
  • There's a plastic seal so you know you get it fresh from the manufacturer.
  • Has a light citrusy scent.
  • It brightens my face.
  • My face feels squeaky clean after use.
What I don't like:
  • Not easily available.
  • A bit pricey compared to Purederm Dual Wellbeing Pack that has 2 products in one sachet.
  • May cause some redness if not massage gently on your face.
  • It gave me a cystic pimple.
  • There's no expiration, batch and manufacturing date printed on the product.
  • There's a written text in Korean and I don't understand what it is.
Will I Repurchase? Maybe No. I will stick to my Purederm Dual Wellbeing Pack.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. I recommend this product to those who want to try peeling gels in exfoliating their skin. I think my skin is sensitive to one of its ingredients that's why I broke out.
Since this is just a mini size, I think the full size comes in a box or has a product insert where there is written text on product information.

Do you use peeling gels?Share your thoughts.

Haul!

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Last Friday, We went to TriNoma for my father's monthly eye check-up at Asian Eye Institute. As usual, we waited for more than two hours because there's only one doctor attending to every patient. I'm glad that his eye condition is much better now and only one surgery left. After his check-up, I asked him to go with me at Sesou Natural Source to buy my supply of organic soaps. So here's what I got: Singkamas (Turnip) Soap which I reviewed here, Papaya with Glutathione review to follow and Calamansi Soap which I also reviewed here.
Left to Right (clockwise): Singkamas (Turnip) Soap, Papaya with  Glutathione Soap and Calamansi Soap
When I arrived home, I also received a package from sis Aimee of bigtokyo, an ebay seller. This package consist of bb cream samples (not included in the picture), an eyeliner and a mini peeling gel.
Left: Baviphat Exfoliating Brightening Mini Peeling Gel
Rigth: N.Y.C. Liquid Eyeliner in Pearlized Black
I'm excited to make a review on Papaya with Glutathione Soap and the Baviphat Exfoliating Brightening Mini Peeling Gel. I will try to compare it to the Peeling Gel included in Purederm's Dual Wellbeing Pack.

That's all for now. Until my next review!

Having a soft and smooth skin in an instant is easy nowadays because of different skin care and makeup products available in the market. This phenomenon is marked by the rise of Korean and Japanese brands in our country. They offer a wide range of effective and affordable beauty and skin care products. Who's not to grab their offer of smooth skin, it's evident that they have good skin to begin with.
