     The interactive kid-sized city recently welcomed the launch of the Home Finishing establishment courtesy of new industry partner, First Balfour, one of the country’s leading construction and engineering companies.

     The official launch was graced by First Balfour President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Anthony Fernandez, who talked about how First Balfour and KidZania Manila share the same vision of helping shape a better nation by nurturing today’s younger generation.

     "Over the past four decades, our purpose has been to contribute to building the nation and uplifting the quality of life of the Filipino. Like KidZania, First Balfour believes in fostering a better world, a brighter future – and a brighter future comes from dreams and aspirations nurtured during the early years. These budding electricians toggle the switches of a household fuse box at the Home Finishing establishment to discover how electricity powers appliances.

     With the opening of the Home Finishing establishment in the metropolis, kids can experience working as electricians— fixing electrical wirings to power up appliances-- and house painters— painting the walls of a house. Each 15-minute activity can accommodate 4 kids and pays 8 kidZos.

     The Home Finishing establishment is just one of KidZania Manila’s over 70 establishments with more than 100 role-playing activities that enable kids to explore, discover, and learn how the real world works.

     A couple of days after Mother's day I received these products from NYX Philippines. I was so surprised because I'm not expecting it that day. So basically, the products I received are the latest lines and best-sellers of NYX Cosmetics. If you're a long time reader of this blog some four years ago, I've already tried one of NYX best-selling lipstick line in the name of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. It's my first NYX lipstick which I ordered from an online seller because this brand is not yet sold in physical stores that time.

     I fell in love with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa after my first swipe and hoarded other colors too. If you'll ask me why, well their products are affordable and pigmented. Since they already have physical stores, it's now easily accessible and no need to order abroad. To those who are not still familiar with NYX Cosmetics here's a short introduction of the brand:

Cathy Doll Philippines Grand Launch

     Hello dearies! Last May 12, I was invited to the grand launch of Cathy Doll Philippines at Crowne Plaza with other beauty bloggers/vloggers who were so excited to see the wide array of cosmetic line this Thai favorite brand has to offer. If my memory serves me right, I've seen a few Cathy Doll products sold online and I was eyeing on their bb creams because of good reviews. I also saw different skin care products but I had a had time availing them because I have to wait for the products to arrive since it will come all the way from Korea.

     Looks like the angels in heaven have heard the wishes of Cathy Doll fanatics because our friends from Karmart brought not only one or two Cathy Doll products, but the entire line of makeup, skin care, and personal effects line. I'm so excited to share with you some of their products or my haul that day. Yay to an awesome loot because believe it or not I received a bag full of Cathy Doll products that I'll be using from head to toe! Highlights of the event below :)

Daryl Feril x Save My Bag Collection

      Hi dearies! I presume that you've already seen the collaborating works of Kiana Valenciano and Daryl Feril on my last posts. Now I'll give a short background on the award-winning illustrator Daryl Feril below and see up close the designs he made together with Kiana below :)

     Negros-based, award-winning illustrator Daryl Feril joins Kiana Valenciano in executing a special, bespoke collection of Save My Bag from Bergamo, Italy, for the Little White Box Pop-up Store in SM Megamall. The said collection calls for Feril to customize each bag with his unique illustrations, upon the client’s request, and under the guidance of Kiana as creative team captain.

     Feril, a Fine Arts graduate from La Consolacion College Bacolod, has worked previously with such top brands such as Alexandra Mor New York, Bloom Miami, Tory Burch, Lee Jeans, LVMH, among others. Not only that, he was also featured in the edgy Juxtapose Magazine published out of San Francisco. 

     Some of the prestigious awards he has received are: Silver Metal - Best Design - Editorial, Magazine Cover: aDoBo Design Awards 2015, Philippines; and 150 Emerging Talents in Art, Design, Illustration & Photography: ASIAN CREATIVES by Ubies, Tokyo. After a series of meetings, and subsequent creative discussions, Daryl was ready to interpret and execute Kiana’s vision for the collection: bespoke, with no two bags identical.

Working with the bag’s material, hi-tech Poly-Lycra, which makes it lightweight and waterproof, was a challenge for Daryl. “What attracted me to Save My Bag? It’s the quality and its purpose. And of course the idea of painting something on the bag which I thought of doing before but didn't think that I could. It was my first time painting on fabric and it's a bit challenging but I'm glad it turned out well,” Daryl continues.

     And so, paint brush in hand, Daryl then worked on turning the bags into unique canvases, where he was able to express himself freely. “My idea is that, you can carry art through the different bags,” Daryl relates. “Each bag in the collection features different designs, thereby making them truly bespoke. But I also wanted the them to be close to my illustration style.”

     What then, exactly, is Daryl’s illustration and artistic style? “It’s a burst of floral, taking cues from nature which for me has some of the craziest patterns, colors and creatures,” he explains. “Inspirations evolve; sometimes they are based on what I observe around or through the people I meet. And as this is a collaborative effort, I took in inputs from Kiana too.”
