Follow this up with a narrative for your child. Point out to things on the screen and tell them that they will likely see that during their own trip to the clinic. 

Toys and Distractions

     The best way to not instill any fear in your child is to distract them right up until they have to meet with the dental hygienist. You can do this with toys, coloring books, and stuffed animals. You should always remember to pack these things with you when you go to the clinic. This will ensure that your child does not feel nervous as they wait with you in the waiting room. They will be, instead, preoccupied with the toys that you have brought. It is common amongst adults as well to get worked up right before the big moment. The best way to prepare your child to meet with the dental surgeon is to keep them calm. They will walk into the exam room with a much more relaxed and open demeanor. This will make the whole process so much easier for all involved.

UNICEF's Children First! Story Book Launch

     Hello mommies! I would like to interest you in this topic especially if you already have kids who are in pre-school. I'm sure that you're all excited to hear your child read. Their first words, phrases, and sentences mean a lot as these are our parameters in gauging their learning development. We all know that each development is unique, some may learn how to speak, read, and write in different ages but no need to worry as long as your child has the interest and copes to what you and their teacher teaches whether at home or school.

     Last February 19, UNICEF launched the Children First! Storybooks – a collection of six books that promote reading and inspire children’s imagination. These books were written in Filipino and English text for children ages three and above. The books talk about different topics such as overcoming shyness, cultivating friendships, and reaching for one’s dreams. The stories are presented in colourful illustrations to fire up children’s sense of curiosity and wonder. I went to theevent with Kenzo because he loves reading! I'm proud that at his age, he can read words that a grade 1 or 2 can also read.

Reading is important in child development:

• Child development experts cite the numerous benefits of a healthy imagination in growing children. By thinking creatively, putting oneself in someone else’s shoes and learning how to express themselves, children grow up to become better problem solvers, have higher self-esteem and have a better understanding of the feelings of others.

     During my visit, I availed their eyebrow threading and Brazilian waxing service. I go to Lay Bare once or every two months for my eyebrow threading sesh. To tell you the truth, there's still a pain every threading session even though I do it on a regular basis but to a minimal level. I can say that Lay Bare's technique in threading is good because it doesn't hurt that much and I don't get a teary eye unlike with other hair waxing salon that I've tried before. It only took less than ten minutes for the threading session since I only have a few stray eyebrow hairs during my visit.

     Before we proceed to the next service I availed I have a question to ask. Do you still use razor and shave to remove unwanted hair? Why is shaving not enough?
