Physiogel's #FreeInMySkin Movement + My Freedom List Challenge Result

Monday, August 03, 2015

I hate skin allergies! I can't concentrate on what I'm doing whenever I feel that my skin is itching, dry, and starting to get scaly because of fish allergy. I can say that my skin is sensitive and when one has sensitive skin, dryness comes next. Scratching here, there, and everywhere is annoying and can cause other skin problems in the long run. So in order to prevent dry and sensitive skin, using skin care products that is science-based and dermatologist-recommended should be my number 1 priority.

Last July 15, 2015 GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) launched their mission to help people do more, feel better and live longer. In line with this mission, GSK’s Consumer Healthcare division and Physiogel, its flagship skin health brand, aims to help Filipinas and all women across Asia, to be free from dry and sensitive skin. Physiogel believes in freeing the strength in sensitivity. To know more about the new line of Physiogel products + the result of my freedom list challenge, scroll down dearies!

Did you know that...

On good skin days:

  • women are naturally more confident presenting their best face to the world.
  • when women love how their skin looks and feels, they want to go out and enjoy themselves, meeting people, making connections, and taking on the world.

On bad skin days:

  • women with their skin feeling 'dry, red and itchy', they are uncomfortable and easily irritated.
  • when their confidence dips, women feel more vulnerable.

“Sensitivity is a source of strength for women, not a weakness to be hidden away. This powerful consumer insight compels Physiogel to passionately advocate the #FreeInMySkin Movement in 2015. The Movement also coincides with the debut of the NEW Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy line,” reveals Justin Alejandro Lladoc, GSK Skin Health Senior Product Manager.

Lladoc says Physiogel’s #FreeInMySkin Movement starts with self discovery. Physiogel aims to help women to be more aware of themselves so they can uncover their full potential. It challenges Filipinas to look past their skin insecurities in the hope of helping them fulfill dreams they have always wanted to achieve.

And this journey to self discovery starts with taking the Freedom List Challenge, Physiogel’s suggested guide in the form of a lifestyle online quiz that is a representation of what women can achieve when freed from dry and sensitive skin.

The Freedom List Challenge starts with a 5-question quiz:
1. Which fitness activities give your skin a post-workout glow?
2. Your potential is limitless, so what’s your dream job?
3. How do you like to show off your beautiful, strong sensitive skin?
4. Everybody has a dream “to do” list. What tops yours?
5. What is your dream holiday?

The result of the quiz provides a glimpse to one’s personality that ranges from being a savvy collaborator, inspiring innovator, charismatic motivator and elegant sophisticate - revealing worthwhile hints that may help you embrace and live life to the fullest.

The #FreeInMySkin Movement, now made more exciting by new additions with the introduction of the #FreeInMySkin website and Freedom List Challenge, is more relevant than ever because it is able to reach many Filipinas digitally across the nation. And because of its continuous success, from its conception in 2014, it has caught the attention of Mercury Drug. They too were encouraged to free many more Filipinas from dry, sensitive skin by making Physiogel products available across the country.

“By the end of 2016, with its continued resonance with consumers, the Movement is expected to have rolled out to the rest of Asian markets,” Lladoc shares.

The new Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy line continues to be a differentiated science-led solution featuring the unique Physiogel BioMimic Technology® that works to soothe and repair the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Dermatologists highly-recommend Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy because:

  • it is non-comedogenic
  • is free from soap
  • preservative, perfumes and colourants.
  • Physiogel is the #1 Most-Prescribed Brand by Dermatologists in the Philippines!
  • Physiogel is made more accessible to Filipinas across the nation as it is available in Mercury Drug Stores and other leading pharmacies and supermarkets nationwide.

TV host, model/entrepreneur, and blogger, Patti Grandidge is one of those who suffered from dry and sensitive skin. Patti remains to be the brand’s advocate as she embodies the Physiogel woman: smart, elegant, strong and empowered because she is free from dry and sensitive skin.

Patti shares that she used to be more conscious and watchful of what others would think about her skin. “That was sad. I would have liked to be out and about and go for more work, but a little thought would always be at the back of my mind wondering if my skin would be an issue or a hindrance. I was not free to do what I wanted to do!” she now says.

I joined the challenge and answered the questions found on freeinmyskin website. After answering the freedom list, the result is:

You are a mentor, a boss, a sister and a friend — and everyone’s role model. Your inner strength and sensitivity touches others, convincing them to think big and conquer bigger.

Yay to the result because it is so me! Now, I dare you to take the challenge too and discover your personality. Share it with your relatives, friends, and families. Let's join the movement so that we can bid dry and sensitive skin goodbye! You don't need to hide and feel weak because of dry and sensitive skin, we can be free from this skin problems with the help of Physiogel Moisture Therapy Line!

Physiogel’s #FreeInMySkin Movement provides women with helpful guides like the Freedom List Challenge so they can share and talk about their skin “journeys” in their lives.

One of the things that I truly miss is going on a travel. I'm not a travel junkie but when opportunity knocks and the gods are in my favor, I will plan the trip right away. Planning a trip is not easy. There are so many things to consider like the location, expenses, and the essential things to pack. These things consist of travel essentials that you will bring in your trip like food, water, containers, skin care, and other products that will make the travel a memorable one. I have great news, my default and go-to supermarket Robinsons Supermarket wants to share with you their list of travel essential goodies that I'm sure will make your travel fuss-free

Here is a list of fundamental items that should go in the travel bag for a guaranteed awesome trip:

1. Portable and nutrition-packed food
If one is to go camping, it is best to bring items that require less cooking and can be-eaten hot or cold. This brings into picture Arrowhead’s flaxseed and quinoa that are both rich sources of dietary fiber and protein

2. Fundamental liquids
Water is basic necessity and potable drinking water might not always be available when travelling. Always carry bottles of drinking water like B’lue Water in Orange and Lychee for a little twist to your regular water.

4. Raw cheese slices
Although cheese may not be considered exactly necessary, but adding dairy to your diet is actually healthy too. Transform simple packed sandwiches into something special by slipping in a hefty slice of cheese. Choose Kraft processed cheese for a creamy twist.

5. Fruits
Maintain access to important vitamins and minerals by packing produce that doesn’t easily bruise like Alfa’s Fuji apples and Australian Crimson grapes. But with all the stuffing of items in the bag the possibility of the produce turning into mush is nigh, which brings us to another important item.

6. Containers
Season travelers know the value of hard-sided containers. Use Saw Glass Foodkeeper with locks and Boseal Round Glass Heat to protect packed produce and other things. It is wise to invest in leak-proof containers such as these, as they are convenient and efficient. For water bottle, Lock n' Lock is your best bet. It's BPA Free and easy to clean and use plus it comes in different colors too!

Insect repellent is an absolute necessity especially when travelling to places where mosquitoes and other insects are known to transmit diseases. Bought more than five bottles and I can truly attest to its effectiveness.

For sweet fixes, chew on a flavorful bunch of Skittles. It is also wise to bring a box of gingerbread cookies like Anna’s Original Cappuccino and Ginger thins if looking for a bite with a crisp. This one is the new great alternative to your favorite ginger bread cookies, promise!

Ways on How to Take Care of Your Skin

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

With the cold weather, it is so much fun to layer clothes. Are there styles and outfits that you’ve always wanted to wear, but could not because it was too hot? You can now rock that pullover and boots. However, there is something we wear that will always be in no matter what season; our skin. This is why you need to take extra care to make sure you’ll maintain a radiant, healthy, and glowing skin all year round!

Not everyone is blessed with the genetics of perfect skin. Different skin types come with different problems, but we can classify them into three common types.

1. Oily Skin
  • Oily skin tends to have large pores, and blemishes such as pimples or blackheads.
  • Oiliness can be caused by puberty, other hormonal imbalances, or stress.
  • To take care of oily skin, avoid over-washing your face.
  • Cleansing twice a day is advisable.
  • Use a gentle cleanser to prevent irritating your skin as abrasive scrubs can open the pores and further expose them to more pollutants in the environment.

2. Normal Skin
  • Normal skin has a good balance of moisture, small pores, and an even tone.
  • This is the goal of most skincare regimens, and most people have this skin type.
  • But in order to maintain it in good condition, you need to minimize its exposure to the sun and follow a proper skin care regimen.

3. Combination Skin
  • Combination skin can have dry or normal areas along with oily parts such as the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin).
  • This skin type can produce overly dilated pores, blackheads, and a shiny surface.
  • Resolve these issues by using a gentle cleanser, applying a toner to repair skin, protecting it from sun damage, exfoliating to remove built-up skin cells, spot-treating, and using products loaded with antioxidants which help keep your skin clear and healthy.

The key to having clear and healthy skin is to have a reliable skincare system. White Result White and Clear, the newest skincare treatment for normal to oily skin types, fights acne and excess oil production, corrects skin blemishes, inhibits melanin production, and keeps your skin fair and young looking! The White and Clear System includes the Facial Foam, Facial Toner, Moisturizer with Sunscreen, and Spot Corrector.

Whether your skin type is oily, normal, or a combination of both, White Result White and Clear from Tupperware Brands will give you clear and blemish-free skin. Just remember to cleanse, tone, moisturize, and treat your body’s greatest feature, and we guarantee that you’ll look your best for your next glowing radiant moment!

Look Good, Feel Good

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

You go through your days feeling low, feeling bad about yourself, lacking self-confidence, and all these negative feelings discourage you from taking care of yourself. You gain weight, you dress sloppily, you leave your hair unkempt. Or maybe you’ve let yourself go a bit. You’ve put on some pounds, your clothes have grown ragged, and the image you see in the mirror leaves you feeling down and steals your self-confidence.

There's a reciprocal relationship between looking good and feeling good, or on the flipside, feeling bad and letting yourself go. It’s a negative cycle that, regardless of how it started for you, has the power to suck you farther and farther down until the prospect of ever again looking good and feeling good can seem a distant hope.
Look Good, Feel Good
We understand what it’s like because we’ve been there, too. We also understand how, little by little, anyone can instill positive habits until feeling good and looking again become realities. Read our tips below and put them into practice. You’ll be amazed at how fast things start looking up.

To start feeling good, try out the following:

1. Commit to becoming a lifelong student. Read books on subjects that interest you, watch educational programing on TV, and stay up to date on global news. Improving your mind will lead to a greater belief in your own abilities and allow you to engage in the important matters of the day.
Look Good, Feel Good
2. Help others. When we seek out opportunities to help those close to us or those in need in our communities, we stop thinking about ourselves and start using our innate gifts to be of service. Not only will you get bursts of feel-good when you experience what it means to make others’ lives better, but you begin to understand that meaning and life satisfaction do not come from outward appearances but from life lived in gracious community.
Look Good, Feel Good
3. Exercise. No, this isn’t about getting ripped biceps or a flat tummy. This is about putting to use a body that was designed for hunting and gathering. Physical inactivity can quickly lead to depression, but extended physical exercise releases a powerful cocktail of mood-improving neuro-transmitters in your brain. And yes, it will improve your physique, and there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you don’t live or die by the appearance of your body. This doesn’t have to take place in a gym, either. Go for a run or a long, vigorous walk. Ride your bike, play tennis with a friend, go rollerblading, practice yoga. Whatever physical activity brings you the most joy, that’s what you should do.
Look Good, Feel Good
To start looking good, try these out:

1. Use designer products. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean you have to break the bank. However, occasionally spending a bit more for designer products, whether clothing or makeup or hair care products or various accessories, can lead to a more put together, polished self-presentation. This means taking the time to find clothing that fits your shape nicely, makeup that’s suited to your coloring and features, and going to a professional hairstylist who can help you determine the best look for you. This is not about competing with others, fitting in, or following trends. Rather, it’s about knowing you’ve taken the time to look your best and done so in a manner that feels comfortable.
Look Good, Feel Good
2. Consider how you carry your body. We all know that our body language speaks to those around us. Often without even knowing, our sour facial expressions, slouched shoulders, crossed arms, and so on, communicate to others just how low, angry, and standoffish we might feel. What many don’t know, however, is that, due to our mind-body relationship, our body language speaks to our own hearts. Just as the body will follow the mind’s lead, the reverse is also true. If you’re feeling down, force yourself to smile and laugh, to stand tall, to make eye-contact, etc. Make these things habits and you will look only look better to yourself and to others, but you will feel better because you will train the posture of your heart to follow the posture of your body.
Look Good, Feel Good
We all want to feel good. We all want to look good. What we don’t always realize is just how much those two things go hand in hand. Follow our suggestions above, and we think you’ll find that both aspects of your life start falling into a healthy, life-giving place.
