Tenya Offers Farm to Table Japanese Menu

Wednesday, July 21, 2021

I can still remember my first dining experience at Tenya Tempura Tendon, Market Market courtesy of my very good friend, Ruth Dela Cruz. We had an awesome catch-up conversion over flavorful Japanese dishes inside this cozy restaurant. I ordered my favorite shrimp tempura while she introduced me to her default order, spicy salmon salad. The latter became my favorite too because of the explosion of taste that you'll crave over and over again.

Great news to all the Tenya fans, Japan’s number one Tempura Tendon chain, seeks out new ways to partner with local food producers in their restaurants in the Philippines, with the launch of their farm-to-table initiative, dubbed Tenya Lokal. Through this initiative, Tenya wishes to provide an immediate solution to the nation’s farmers and fisherfolk, who have experienced a sharp reduction in the sales of their products as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. To formally launch this initiative, we were allowed to taste some of the delightful dishes that are part of the Tenya Lokal menu, during a virtual luncheon held on July 16, 2021.

Our flight back to Manila was squeezed in between breakfast and lunch that’s why I decided to include pre-ordered meals which I booked together with our tickets. While browsing the website, I noticed that Cebu Pacific has new menu offerings, with vegetarian options and an array of snacks ad meals that include Asian cuisines.

Cebu Pacific showcases Asian Flavors in its new pre-ordered meals for snacks and meals that include Chinese, Japanese, and Korean delights. Each meal is offered P250 and upon seeing the selection, I was relieved that some viands are our favorites. Sharing CEB Meals viands we ate during our flight back home inside Cebu Pacific Aircraft.

Product Review: Sunnywood Harvester's Rice + Crab Maki Recipe

Friday, October 19, 2018

Rice is the staple food of the Filipinos and we are blessed because our country can produce different variants of rice that we eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Don't get me wrong, (because of the recent news on rice hoarding) but long before the time our country is indeed gifted in this department.

Speaking of rice, there's one brand that I recently discovered and been eating for weeks now. Sunnywood Harvester's Rice has Sinandomeng and Dinorado variant as well as colored specialty rice. I presume that you've seen this brand in the supermarket but you opted to buy the brand with a lower price tag. Let me share some trivia why you need to buy rice from a trusted brand and a simple international recipe using an alternative ingredient from Sunnywood Harvester's Rice:)

Months ago, I was craving for ramen after looking for furniture for our newly renovated house. I still can't believe that it's only my first time to eat authentic ramen since the trend hit several years ago. Yes, it was already years ago when numerous ramen restaurants sprouted around Metro Manila faster than you could slurp up a bowl of miso soup.

Fast forward today, ramen restaurants are too many to count. So what to expect when you see a ramen house? Check the three criteria-quality, authenticity, and (for the bolder chefs), an innovation so that you'll have a happy tummy after finishing a bowl. We were in Trinoma that day and we found a place where ramen is served the way it should be- Hanamaruken Ramen. Kow more about this ramen house in my short feature below.
