Product Review: DHC Vitamin C 60 Days Supply

Thursday, January 20, 2022

We are now on the second year of this pandemic and most of us have adapted the new normal way of living. I presume that you already mastered the basics when it comes to Covid-19 safety protocols and have strictly imposed these in your homes. The pandemic has taught me a lot when it comes to health and wellness and one of them is making sure that I take my daily dose of vitamins and supplements.

My number one vitamin on the list is vitamin c. This immune booster and powerful antioxidant can neutralize harmful radicals in the body. It helps heal wounds faster, fight coughs and colds to name a few that's why there's always a supply in my stash for a month or two. Having that said, I've tried different brands of vitamin c even before the pandemic that I also shared here on the blog. For this review, let me share my current brand of vitamin c from one of the favorite Japanese brands in the vitamin and supplement department, DHC (Daigaku Honyaku Center)- a Japanese manufacturer dealing in cosmetics and health food supplements headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. More information about DHC Vitamin C and my thoughts after using it for more than a year now below.

Product Review: DHC Vitamin C 60 Days Supply

I started taking DHC Vitamin C last October 2020 after finishing a bottle of Puritan’s Pride 1000mg. During that time, Puritan's Pride is always OOS (out of stock) that's why I decided to try DHC Vitamin C. I've known this brand a long time already because I also tried their collagen supplement for months. I’ve been taking this vitamin c for more than a year now and before, I buy my supply from a friend who receives "balikbayan box" from a relative in Japan. But when I saw a legit seller at Lazada months ago, I decided to buy from this shop as my friend decided to stop the "pasabuy" of Japanese products because of the pandemic.

Product Review: DHC Vitamin C 60 Days Supply

DHC Vitamin C is a no-fuss vitamin c supplement. Once you open the zip lock pouch, you'll see a transparent hard capsule that is smaller than the normal size. The capsule color is tan, with letters 'DHC' that is printed in the upper part of the capsule. On the lower part is the katakana of English word vitamin c that translates to ビタミンC. Even though the transparent hard capsule is tan in color, you can see that it has a white powder inside. I take this vitamin c daily for more than a year now. I'm the type of person who rarely get coughs and colds but I have thin skin that is prone to minor wounds and scratch. Taking DHC Vitamin C has helped in strengthening my immune system together with proper nutrition, exercise and sleep. I also noticed that it made my skin glowing in daylight.

What I like:
  • One of the cheapest brands if you’ll do the math. It’s around Php 2+ per capsule.
  • The packaging is a convenient zip lock foil pouch.
  • This vitamin c doesn't have a funky odor or weird smell.
  • It doesn't change the color of my urine to yellow.
  • It's easy to swallow.
  • No stomach ache, nausea, dizziness, or allergic reactions while taking this supplement.
  • I rarely get cough, colds, and flu in a year since I take vitamin c on a daily basis. With this brand, I also experience less fatigue and my wounds heal faster.
  • I noticed a glow on my skin in natural light.
  • Available in 20, 30, and 120 days supply. If you want to ty it first without breaking the bank, get the 20 days supply and observe the effects on your body.
  • There are batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed at the lower left side of the back packaging.
  • I can vouch for Japanese brands like DHC because knowing Japan, they follow strict standards when it come to their products more so with beauty supplements.
  • Easily accessible online.

What I don't like:
  • None so far!

Will I repurchase? YES! This is my daily source of Vitamin C at the moment.

Recommendation:
I give this a 5/5 rating. I highly recommend DHC Vitamin C especially now that it's a must to boost our immune system from all the sources that we can get. If you are a cheapskate like me, you can try the 20 days supply and observe your body if there's an unpleasant reaction upon taking this vitamin for a week.

If you think there's none, then go ahead and buy the one month or three months supply because if you'll do the math, it's cheaper per piece. As for the authenticity of DHC Vitamins, there are rumors that fake DHC products are circulating online but I'm not sure if this is true since I have not seen one and I make sure to purchase it from a reputable seller. With regards to the packaging, the one in the photo above is the new design so please make sure to ask the seller so you can also check the authenticity before you purchase.
