Welcome to the New Normal- the most used and abused word in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to star.com.my, "new normal" means a new way of living and going about our lives, work, and interaction with other people. It's an adjustment that we have to do and follow daily as long as the world has not found a cure or vaccine for COVID-19.
Basically, this "new normal" is all about safety and how we are going to protect and prevent the spread of the virus inside our homes and in the community as we shift from strict to a more relaxed quarantine here in Metro Manila. We are given a new set of rules, do's and dont's, and protocols that will keep us safe at all times as we go on with our lives starting today until the world declares that we won this war against COVID-19. There's no need to panic because everyone is doing their best to keep themselves and their families safe in these trying times.

5 Safety Tips in The New Normal
1. Stay at Home
One of the simplest and the most effective way to steer clear from the virus is to stay at home. Staying at home lessens the risk of contracting a virus, diseases, or any kind of infection from the outside world. The more you stay at home, the better unless you have an essential thing to do outside your home.
2. Observe Cleanliness
Since the virus can spread through small respiratory droplets that can survive for days on surfaces, keeping our body and surroundings clean at all times will prevent the further spread of virus and infection. Observe proper hygiene at all times by frequent hand washing and sanitizing. Always use disinfectant sprays and multi-purpose cleaners to routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
3. Build Stronger Immunity
Wearing a face mask, frequent hand washing, and sanitizing are the first line of defense against the virus but there's a lot more to do especially on building stronger immunity. Since we are still obliged to stay at home, make it a daily habit to stay active by doing physical activity, eat right by including fruits and vegetables in your diet, get quality sleep and take vitamin c regularly.
4. Social Distancing
Follow stringent social distancing measures imposed by the government. Always keep in mind strict maintenance physical distancing of at least one (1) meter radius whenever you go outside to do essential work and services. In order to practice social distancing, avoid mass gatherings like movie screenings, concerts, sporting events and other entertainment activities, community assemblies, and non-essential work-related gatherings
5. GO Cashless
The use of cashless payments helps us apply social distancing measures more effectively and reduces the risk caused by cash handling. We all know that physical money has a swamp of bacteria and virus that is invisible to the naked eye so if we are really preventing the spread of the virus, going cashless is the way to go. I'm glad that PayMaya, an app we all love, takes care of all our cashless transaction needs.
