The Maya Kitchen's Bake Magic Together

     Who here loves baking? I have a confession to make, my family runs a bakery and that's our bread and butter. My father is from Batangas and his relatives are also in the bakeshop industry. Isn't it ironic that I don't know how to bake? Well, I really do think because we run a bakery for almost 30 years and I wasn't able to knead a dough even once.

     I have five siblings, three girls and two boys. I'm the only daughter who doesn't know how to bake nor cook. Poor me but learning never stops right? That's why when The Maya Kitchen invited me to attend a baking class I excitedly said yes. After all, I'll be attending the class with my youngest sister Krystel who loves baking and my son Kenzo joined us too. I have to start em young, right? No need to ask because it runs in his blood.      Hearty conversations over good food is the best way to catch up and spend some much-needed quality time with loved ones. But apart from simply eating together, it’s also a lot of fun to bond by working together in the kitchen.

Bake Magic Together

     It’s fun to get both parents and kids involved in the process of making tasty treats. Learning together is what makes it extraordinary, and that is what you experience at Maya Kitchen’s special private family baking session called Bake Magic Together.

      Professional pastry chef, Carla Asence, more popularly known as Carla Cusinera, led the class and shared her own experiences about baking with her family. She runs a baking business in the comforts of her own home with her husband and kids whom she fondly calls her support team.

Why Bake Magic Together?

     Baking is not an easy task but it's a super fun and fulfilling hobby. It takes a lot of time and energy from sourcing the ingredients, preparing the tools, taste testing, and cleaning-up, a team's work is important that's why Chef Carla knows that baking can bring the family closer together. It’s also an engaging way to help kids cultivate skills in reading, math, and science; and practical lessons like kitchen safety and hygiene.

Summary of The Maya Kitchen's Bake Magic Together

     In this session, Chef Carla taught us on how to make different treats like Red Velvet Crepe Cake, Red Velvet Brownies, and Heart Shape Maya Whole Wheat Cupcake. She is super fun in the kitchen. Her sense of humor and practical tips makes the baking process light and instructions easier to follow. Sharing with you the procedures and photos of our finished products below.      These sweet treats are easy to make because there are Maya mixes to choose from plus easy-to-do recipes printed at the back of the carton packaging. It's a morning filled of fun and excitement. Yay to a successful first time baking experience in the kitchen and it's easy because my sister and my son helped me. The ingredients were already measured and prepared for us that's why the only thing we need to do was follow the instructions in the recipe.

     The Maya Kitchen encourages families to bake at home and create new learning experiences. Its recently published cook book carries the title, Bake Magic Together, and contains 40 recipes the whole family can make including those featured in the baking session.
