Physiogel Oncology Advocacy Event #ExtraordinaryWomen

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Every October, we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's a whole month celebration where breast cancer patients with their relatives join together to spread awareness so that we can prevent breast cancer in the early stages. It's also a celebration of beauty and fulfillment for ladies with breast cancer who had survived the pain and the obstacles that they've gone through. In line with the celebration, I was very fortunate to attend the Physiogel Oncology Advocacy Event where they made breast cancer patients as their brand ambassadors and introduced them to media and bloggers and shared their stories with us last October 18 at Makati Edsa Shangri la.
Physiogel Oncology Advocacy Event #ExtraordinaryWomen

It's a very intimate event. Physiogel selected these three beautiful ladies from different walks of life who is diagnosed with stage 1-2 breast cancer and as of the moment they're having their radiation therapy. Before the talk started, we had a very nutritious snack and I regret that I wasn't able to eat some of the dishes they've prepared for us. Don't get me wrong because it's mostly veggies and  I love veggies so much :) By the way, here's a cute dainty table set-up.

Here's my plate of nutritious food, aside from the fries the siopao veggies and the salmon sandwich with asparagus stalks was the bomb! I like how the event also gave importance to the food that they've served since we've talked about healthy lifestyle too in accordance to breast cancer patients' everyday living.

Before the talked/forum started, a representative from GSK Laboratories welcomed everyone and made a short speech about the event. My apologies because I forgot his name :(

The forum started when the three breast cancer patient ladies shared their journey from the beginning of their cancer stage: the diagnosis, kinds of treatment and the reality that they have to accept. In their journey, most of the things they've shared were the same. They not only thought of their own but also the welfare of their families. It's a physical, social, mental and spiritual realization too. Having this kind of sickness was heart breaking not only to the patient but to the relatives the most. The forum was an eye-opener to me because I can relate to some of the instances that they have to deal with especially on what their relatives feel about them.

To make the whole story short, these ladies resorted to Physiogel as their daily skin care product. Because the three of them went through radiation therapy, their skin became so sensitive and extremely dry. Physiogel made their skin moisturize and lessen the damaging effects of radiation to their skin.

I arrived thirty minutes late to the event and I'm happy that I seated right next to my fave fashion bloggers. While waiting for the forum to start, we had a short chitchat about random things in life and the fangirl in me asked for fashion tips and advice. Thank you so much Sarah and Ana for the good company. Hope to see you next event!

Another blogger and forgot to ask his name, if you're reading this please leave a comment. My apologies :(, Ana Gonzales and Sarah Tirona
Thank you so much Physiogel and GSK laboratories for inviting me. It's an eye-opener for me and their stories made a big impact for me to realize that I need to be very patient in dealing with individuals not only with breast cancer but to those who are ill. I'm thankful that even though my father is a dialysis patient, he already accepted the reality and living his life to the fullest and making up for his mistakes.

Thank you so much Physiogel for the full-sized lotion, cream and cleanser.
A little note on Physiogel, this dermatologist recommended brand of skin care for dry, red, flaked, irritated skin is hypoallergenic and has no fragrance. It contains a derma-membrane structure ingredient that makes the skin moisturized unlike other lotion, cream and cleanser in the market today.

  3. It's nice to know that Physiogel is aiming for cancer awareness . :)M my mom-in law currently is on stage 4 cancer.. She's on her 2nd round now for her chemo because the 1st round wasn't successful. She is no longer using any kind of lotion for her skin kasi madami daw bawal. I've read some reviews about Physiogel and I think she can use it for her skin. SHe has really dry skin right now even.

  11. What a lovely event! We should all support this cause. I was so shocked when I found out that a friend in her 20's had breast cancer. Now she's cured and I am so grateful to God for that.
