Product Review: Eskinol Spot-less White Facial Deep Cleanser With Pure Calamansi Extracts

     Hi, hi hi! I'm back with another review. I told you in my previous post that I wanted to share new products on my skin care regimen and makeup stash that I'm currently using. So let's start with this toner/cleanser. I'm sure you've seen this product a lot of times and I presume a member or two in the family have tried this. This product has been around if I'm not mistaken since my childhood days and I remember seeing my mother using this before and after washing her face. If you're thinking this toner is classic, yes it is. 

     Eskinol is classic and very effective that's why until now it's still here unlike other brands being discontinued in the market. When I saw that Janet of Journey on Beauty made a comprehensive review of all Eskinol variants, I'm convinced that the quality of this product has been tested through times and if this is re-formulated I'm sure that the new formulation is way better and improved with added features. What I like:

• The price- cheapest among the toners that I've tried.
• My skin feels squeaky clean after use.
• There is a cooling sensation and  just a little sting
• Able to cleanse deep-seated dirt and heavy makeup.
• Leaves skin matte and oil-free.
• Wide selection of toners for different skin needs.
• Lightened some dark spots after 2 weeks of every other day use.

What I don't like:

• Caused dryness on some parts of my skin.

Will I repurchase? Yes because truly soap is not enough to cleanse that deep-seated dirt. 

Recommendation:

     I give this a 4.75/5 rating. Other than the faint alcohol smell and the dryness, I really liked seeing my face squeaky clean after using this product. I noticed some of my pimple marks have lightened. I'm not saying that this product alone made those blemishes lighter, applying this every other day somehow helped those unsightly dark spots appear less visible. I'm also giddy to try other variants of Eskinol but methinks I need to use this continuously if I really want to see maximum results and if it will make pimple marks vanish after long-term use.

Product Review: AVON superSHOCKMAX Mascara

     I'm super excited to share this review! I got this product from my sister-in-law again out of curiosity. AVON is one of the local brand that I find cost effective because their products stays true to it's promise. I'm not expecting too much from AVON when it comes to makeup because most of the reviews that I read gave mix opinions. But whenever I see brochures and flyers in my sister-in-law's room, I get excited because they always offer new line of products not only for women but also for men and children. I can say that AVON has gone through a lot in discovering and bringing Filipina women modern innovations in skin care and cosmetics. So when I saw this product being endorsed by Angel Locsin, I got intrigued because this mascara can make the lashes 12x more of the volume. 

     I have a confession to make, I envy ze hubby and my son because they have luscious and thick lashes. I know that false lash effect can be achieved by using falsies and by trying high end brands but splurging on mascara is a no-no for me. Most mascaras have only 3 months shelf life and I usually stay at home so if I buy one it will just expire or dry up. I super love Maybelline Full N' Soft Mascara but it's not available here and it's pricier than this so now I have a new love! Thank goodness there's AVON, my dream of having vavavoom lashes just came true :)

What I like:

• The wand- it's longer and thicker than the usual and the bristles is different that I guess the reason it can reach those teeny weeny lashes from the outer and some from the inner corner of my eye. 
• The texture is like a smooth paste, not runny nor too thick.
• Affordable, less than 500 php and it has 10g of product compared to most mascaras in the market.
• Looks like I'm wearing falsies.
• Adds thickness, fullness and length to my lashes.
• My lashes feels soft and not brittle.
• Minor clumping for 4 coats or more.
• No stinging or irritation of my eye.
• Waterproof.
• Very easy to remove using an ordinary eye makeup remover. 
• No panda eyes and no shedding of lashes when removing the mascara.

What I don't like:

• Can weigh down the curls after three coats.

Will I repurchase? Yes!

Recommendation:

     I give this a 5/5 rating. My sister in law gave me this product for review and she said the sale price of this mascara is less than 300 pesos! Whoaa! I can't believe Avon offers great discounts and look at the performance. I'm super satisfied with the product and I highly recommend this mascara specially if you're on a budget.

Product Review: BYS Lipstick in Champagne Rain

     Hi dearies! How's your week so far? Been busy last week and reviews are piling up again :( So now I'm back and I hope I can share all the good finds that I got this February. I've been testing this new lipstick for 2 weeks now and finally found a good lippie for everyday/ no makeup look. I had a nude lipstick before from N.Y.X. but the color just made me look pale and my sisters said that I'm a walking dead whenever I wear that shade. From that moment, I said to myself that I will never look good in nude. But when I saw Anagon and Shen's tweet about BYS lipsticks, there's something mysterious that calls my name to try it and find out what this brand is all about. I got intrigued with the brand and got really curious when I saw the swatches on their blogs. 

   Since I'm looking for the right kind of nude that's perfect for everyday look and for this summer season, I grabbed the opportunity to try their lipsticks when I passed by their counter. I asked the SA for a nude shade lippie and she gave me this...Is it a Yay or a nyay? Read more to see if this is the perfect kind of nude that I'm looking for.

What I like:

• The Price- Affordable. 
• I love the shade, it's a pink/nude lippie that doesn't give a concealer look on my lips.
• The scent- a bit of sweet citrusy smell but not overpowering. 
• It's my MLBB.
• Doesn't dry my lips. 
• Lasts 4 hours on my lips. 
• Easily accessible. 
• There's a batch and manufacturing date printed on it.

What I don't like: 

• The packaging- it's flimsy. But can't complain consider the price and the quality, you really get what you pay for.
• Takes a little effort to apply.
• Settles on fine lines and accentuates dry flaky skin (but with the use of a good lip balm, the application is a lot smoother)
• Contains mineral oil, some individuals are allergic to it.

Will I repurchase? Yes!

Recommendation:

     I give this a 4/5 rating! I consider this nude lippie as MLBB (My lips but better). This shade is great for everyday use. I got compliments whenever I wear this lippie and I'm happy that the shade doesn't make me look dead. I haven't tried applying the product with the use of a lip brush. I guess that technique will make the application a lot easier. Definitely, this product is worth a try!
