Tuesday, October 13, 2026

Coming off a bronze-medal finish in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference, the PLDT High Speed Hitters are gearing up for the league’s milestone 10th season, determined to build on their recent success and carry that momentum forward.

Leading the charge are defensive anchor Kath Arado and explosive outside hitter Savi Davison, who have earned 12 individual PVL awards combined. Arado’s exceptional floor defense and Davison’s powerful attacks make them a formidable duo, helping strengthen PLDT’s position as a contender as the team sets its sights on greater success in the upcoming season.

Ready, Set, Gold

As the team prepares for the upcoming tournament, Davison stressed that continuous improvement remains the focus heading into the new conference.
The mindset of every off-season is to be better than before,” said the Best Outside Spiker from the previous conference. “We fell short in the Invitational Conference, but we are heading into the new conference with some momentum. Hopefully, we will be able to take the lessons learned and apply them during the off-season to propel us forward.”
Davison also expressed pride in how the team responded to adversity and finished the tournament on a positive note.
I am happy that we were able to close out the PVL Invitational Conference on a high note with a win,” she said. “Although the goal was to be placed in the finals, I believe that we were challenged and were able to grow in ways that were needed. I am proud of us for being able to respond accordingly in such a short period of time following mid-season losses—that's what I am most happy about.”
For team captain Arado, the bronze-medal finish carried a deeper significance, reflecting the team's resilience after a challenging stretch in the season. The previous conference's Best Libero highlighted the importance of recovering both mentally and physically as PLDT looks ahead to its next campaign.
Honestly, our Invitational Conference finish feels really fulfilling and emotional,” Arado recalled. “After the losses we experienced in the middle of the season, winning the bronze medal showed us that we were able to bounce back, stay together, and keep fighting.”
While the team had hoped to reach the finals, Arado sees the experience as a valuable foundation for continued growth.
It may not have been the result we initially wanted, but I'm really grateful for the lessons, the experience, and the opportunity to finish the conference on the podium. For us, the mindset is to use the previous season as motivation to keep improving,” she added.
Reliance on Teamwork, Backed by Reliable Support

One of the defining moments of PLDT’s recent campaign was its back-to-back victories over powerhouse Creamline, which secured the High Speed Hitters a podium finish. Going up against one of the league’s most formidable teams demanded composure, discipline, and unwavering confidence from start to finish.
Any match against Creamline is highly competitive. At no point during those two matches did we think we had the win secured. We had to push to the very end, considering that they are capable of turning matches around if given the opportunity. From the very first point of the first match to the very last of the bronze match, we had to stay consistent and confident in our abilities,” Davison recalled.
For Arado, the turning point came when the team recognized how much it had overcome throughout the season and chose to keep fighting together.
I think the turning point was when we realized that we had already been through so much this season, but we were still standing and fighting together,” Arado said. “In those last two games, every point felt so important, and we just refused to give up on each other. When we were able to fight back, especially in the crucial moments, I felt that this was our chance to finish strong. We believed in each other, trusted the process, and fought for every ball.”
Beyond their individual contributions on the court, both players recognize that sustained success requires a strong support system. From the coaching staff and players to the fans who stand by the team through every challenge, teamwork remains central to PLDT’s continued growth.

Davison emphasized the importance of collective preparation, saying, “The key is to have everyone on the same page and prepared to compete, from coaching staff to all the players.”

She also acknowledged the unwavering support of the High Speed Hitters’ fans, whose encouragement continues to motivate the team.
The fans have been the core of PLDT,” she added. “They inspire us to work when not being watched and to play to our best abilities when given the opportunity to play in front of them. They inspire us to be better every day, supporting us through the highs and lows.”
As the High Speed Hitters prepare for their next PVL campaign, Arado expressed her gratitude to the supporters who have remained by their side through every win, loss, and setback.
To all our fans and supporters, thank you so much for staying with us throughout the season, through the wins, the losses, and all the challenges we faced. Your support, love, and encouragement meant so much to us and gave us extra strength to keep fighting. Our bronze medal last conference was also for you. We’re taking all the lessons from the last season and using them as motivation to come back stronger,” she said.
A New Season, A Stronger Purpose

For the PLDT High Speed Hitters, the bronze-medal finish is more than just a podium achievement. It represents the team's ability to recover from setbacks, trust one another under pressure, and turn difficult experiences into opportunities for growth.

With Arado anchoring the defense and Davison leading the attack, PLDT enters its next campaign with valuable lessons from the previous conference and a renewed determination to compete at the highest level. As the team sets its sights on the PVL 2026–2027 All-Filipino Conference, the challenge will be to build on that momentum, remain consistent, and turn hard-earned experience into stronger performances.

The goal is clear: keep improving, keep fighting, and keep the pursuit of gold alive. Catch every moment of the PLDT High Speed Hitters’ journey in the upcoming conference. Follow the team on Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok to stay connected to the action.
