What is the essence of being a woman? This question has been on my mind for a very long time because of the beauty pageants that I often watched during  my high school and college days. It's nice to know that different beauty pageants here in our country became an inspiration to little girls and woman alike to build their self-esteem and intelligence. Beauty pageant title holders also became an inspiration to their nation and uplifts the spirit of every individuals. One of the prestigious pageant that I look forward to watch live on television every year is the Ms. Earth. If you're not familiar with the pageant, here's a little info about it:
The Miss Earth beauty contest is an annual pageant that focuses on environmental awareness. Started in 2001, the green-driven contest is organized by Carousel Productions, through the Miss Earth Foundation. With the theme "International Year of Water Cooperation,'' 90 candidates from around the world will compete in the 2013 Miss Earth beauty contest which will be held at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa on December 7, 2013. The proclaimed winner will become the spokesperson and ambassador of the foundation, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and other groups promoting care for the environment.

This year's advocacy will focus on eco-tourism as it contributes to the country's effort to use tourism as a means to help alleviate poverty. The Miss Earth pageant will show to the world how beautiful the Philippines is. Teresa Fajksova of the Czech Republic is the reigning Miss Earth. Karla Henry is the first Miss Earth from the Philippines. The first Miss Earth was Catharina Svenson of Denmark.

Welcome Ms. Earth Candidates!
Last Monday, I was invited to the meet and greet of Ms. Earth 2013 delegates at Yoshinoya Robinson's Galleria. Bloggers and media got a chance to have lunch with beautiful candidates who will compete to this year's theme of International Year of Water Cooperation. I was very excited to see the candidates up close and personal becausethat was my first time seeing and meeting beauty pageant contestants. I'm was very ecstatic whenever I see physically fit and tall girls in front of me. I envy their genes and their discipline to maintain their physique. But before the photo ops and short presentation from the candidates, we had our sumptuous lunch. Yoshinoya beef bowl or Gyudon was served first with my refreshing drink of choice citron lime. After this we were also had a chance to taste the kani salad. It's actually crab salad with mix of different veggies like lettuce, cucumber, carrots, sea weed, and light mayo dressing.

After eating, the candidates arrived and before entering the store they did some sort of fashion walk and stopped by at the entrance of the store where Yoshinoya management, marketing team, pr, bloggers and media welcomed them by taking their photos one by one. The crowd went crazy when the candidates posed as if they're already in the stage for competition. I'm so happy that most of the candidates were very approachable and entertained everyone who wanted to have a photo op with them.

Hello gorgeous ladies! While waiting for their lunch to be served, I grabbed the opportunity to take some photos of the candidates. Because the crowd outside the store was going cray cray, I missed the chance to ask my favorite candidates some question.

Hello ladies! While waiting for their lunch
Stolen shot for this group while chitchatting with other candidates. Look how beautiful these candidates are! Even in stolen shots, I can say they're picture perfect! We gave the girls the time they needed to eat the delish foods that was served to them by Yoshinoya. I spy their faces enjoying the dishes that was served.

Here's the moment that we've been all waiting for, a short presentation of the candidates and group photos. Please excuse the quality and the angles of my photos, I cannot find the right place where to take the shots because the crowd went crazy again seeing these beautiful faces.

Final photos of the candidates for the day. As much as I wanted to take photos of them one by one, my powers gave up. The security wasn't able to tame down the crowd but looking at the photo below you can see the girls all smiling and happy to see the warmth from their fans.

  9. I also envy those women who really put an effort in making their physique close to perfection. Also, if I am going to judge them by their looks it would be a very tough one just because all of them are good looking.
