When Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening body scrub ran out of stock, I saw another brand in Watson's and it's Purbasari. Asian secrets became a hit to many of us because of its divine smell and affordable price. Since Purbasari is same lulur scrub, I know there will be no difference at all but hey, there's one thing I noticed after using the entire tub of this.

Purbasari Lulur Mandi Putih

What I like:
- The beads are fine so it's gentle in exfoliating.
- It's cheap! A tub lasts me more than a month. I exfoliate using this once a week.
- It's creamy and moisturizes my skin. I can see a "glow" after using this.
- There's a batch, manufacture and expiration date printed at the bottom of the tub.
- Hypo-allergenic and dermatologically tested.
What I don't like:
- The SMELL! It's too overpowering for me, I can't describe. As in I don't know. I can't breathe.
- The packaging! It is unsanitary to dip your fingers inside the tub.
- I didn't see any whitening on the part that I use it. Maybe I need to use this 2-3 times a week on that area to see the whitening result.
Will I repurchase? No! I like Asian Secrets way better than this.
Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. It does the exfoliating job like Asian Secrets do but I can't take the smell of this. I don't have sensitive nose but with this I think I'm going to vomit inside the bathroom. Sorry for the word but it's my honest experience with this scrub.
Have you tried this Purbasari Scrub?Share your thoughts! Have a great weekend ahead
Good Times!~
Eeek! A bad smelling product can really kill the whole experience of using it.. >.< My nose is not to sensitive too, pero I don't like my beauty products when they smell too chemical-ish or if they have a super strong scent. I've never tried the Purbasari brand and I think I'll stay away from it.. XD
ReplyDeletePS: Thank you so much for having my button link up on your sidebar! *hugs* Will make a button link for you sis! :D Let me know if you want something specifically, just email me lang.. ^^
@Sumi- hay naku sis, talagang nasusuka ako everytime na mg scrub ako ng purbasari. tiniis ko lang talaga ubusin kasi gusto ko makita kung may kakaibang effect dahil best seller yung tag nya sa watson's. I went to sm kanina and check kung may asian secrets na. out of stock pa din. may nakita ako bago nanaman brand ng lulur. will make a review after ko makalahati yung tub.
ReplyDeleteI will email you na lang about the details sa buttonlink. pasensya na ha, baka maabala kita. hindi kasi ako tekkie- yan ba yung term ng madaming alam sa computers and internet, hehehe?
Wow! You're a fan talaga sis of Lulur scrubs ah. Makabili nga when I visit Watson's this weekend :) I love using body scrubs, pero I've never tried lulur pa.
ReplyDeleteAnd no prob noh. Di yun abala saken sis, kasi hobby ko naman mag-graphic designing.. ;)
Hi, I think it's a bit too late to share this info to you. I'm doing some research on lulur. I found out that both Asian Secrets and Purbasari is produced by Pt Gloria Origita Cosmetics. Purbasari is their flagship product in Indonesia before Asian Secrets is available to Philippines. The formulation should be about the same except for the fragrance.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous- Thank you for sharing the info. I agree with you that the scent of both differs but does the job in terms of exfoliation :)
ReplyDeleteAmoy ponds cold cream po ang purbasari :)
ReplyDelete@anonymous- thanks for sharing, haven't tried pond's cold cream pa kasi that's why I don't know the scent.
ReplyDeleteDo you know where I can find and Buy PURBASARI? wala na kasi in some Watsons branches... and i love Purbasari... hope you could help me! :) please contact me thru 09087407791 tnx! :)
ReplyDeleteHi donitabonita,
DeleteI'm not sure if discontinued na sa Watsons, sometimes out of stock lang.
for my opinion di naman ganun exage ang amoy ng purbasari. amoy ilang ilang sya o kaya sampaguita. mabango siya para sakin. well iba iba naman kasi tayo ng pang amoy at taste sa scent :). i've been using purbasari for about 1 1/2 years. it really whitens my skin. i used that 3-4X a week.
ReplyDeleteHi Danah,
DeleteThank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Good for you kasi hindi sensitive and nose mo :) If not for the smell, this will be an essential for me.
I love asian secrets talaga kaso out of stock na as in wala na daw sa market, sa lahat ng scrubs na nagamit ko AS is the best for me..so my alternative scrubs is purbasari lulur. Sana ibalik nila yung AS
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteYes, wala na yung Asian Secrets now. Puro Purbasari lang din nakikita ko sa Watsons.
I love using Purbasari nakakaputi tlaga sna lng di maubusan sa watson store ang bilis lng ksi maubos e pero effective nman tlaga sulit for affordable price.
ReplyDeletePwede po bang iapply sa face?
