Starmobile KNIGHT Spectra Launch

Sunday, November 29, 2015

I noticed that when a friend or relative looks for a smartphone, the first thing they ask the sales lady is about the camera. How many mega pixels the rear and front camera have. Then after asking clicks the camera button, test it in the first subject they see and compares the photos they've taken one by one. In today's world of smartphones, camera is really important as this is the main part of the modern mobile phone that takes all the precious memories that we make everyday.

Aside from photos, we also make a record of those once in a lifetime memories like birthday celebrations, first milestone of a baby (for mothers), and other occasions that is important to us. Starmobile recently launched another big thing in the smartphone/cameraphone industry. This is the KNIGHT Spectra- the first smartphone with dual rear camera. The launch was held at EDSA Shangri-La last November 9, 2015 and was graced by Starmobile executives, celebrities, media partners, and bloggers who were excited to see another first in the cameraphone field.

During the launch, we got the first dibs on the Starmobile KNIGHT Spectra, the most advanced Filipino cameraphone with a dual rear camera. Designed for social shutterbugs, the KNIGHT Spectra is just what you need to up your game when it comes to taking share-worthy pics.

“The Starmobile KNIGHT Spectra is our most advanced cameraphone to date,” says Starmobile Chief Operating Officer Michael Chen.
“With its unique dual rear sensors and built-in Star Cam functionality it takes the mobile point-and-shoot experience to even greater heights.” The two camera modules work together to help you take photos that really stand out. Here’s how the system works: the 2-megapixel sensor gathers data like light, exposure, and distance, allowing the 13-megapixel sensor to take brilliant photos more quickly and accurately. “The result is faster focusing, amazing colors, sharper details, and automatic distortion correction the likes of which can only be found in high-end point-and-shoot cameras,” says Chen.

Here are the addition to Starmobile’s unique Star Cam functions, thus enable you to do the following:

  • Choose the focal point of your shot after taking the photo. All you have to do is tap on the object (or person, face, etc.) you want to focus on! With Star Cam’s Super ReFocus, the dual rear camera takes photos at 10 varying lengths then compresses them into a single file.
  • Take photos at exactly the right exposure level. Hate how dark photos look when you don’t use the flash, but also detest the overexposure that results when you do it with a normal smartphone cam? Chroma Flash lets your phone take two photos—one with flash and one without—in rapid succession, combining them into a single file for a better overall pic.
  • Zoom in without compromising photo texture and sharpness. Using your smartphone to take photos of that rocking concert you’re attending? Or maybe you want to capture precious moments at a loved one’s birthday, graduation, or wedding. Opti Zoom shoots multiple photos simultaneously to improve the quality of those close-up shots.

With the phone's star quality specs above, I can say that it will satisfy those camerphone savvies. In my opinion, smartphones with good camera are the in thing now especially for bloggers who like to cover events without bringing too much stuff. To test the unique starcam function of Starmobile KNIGHT Spectra, veteran and highly-respected photographer Jun De Leon tested this phone in different subjects and was amazed by the camera's performance. All the photos on display during the event was taken using the Starmobile KNIGHT Spectra- raw and no filter added. It's shot in manual mode by the maestro.

There are three things that I'm sure will make you put Starmobile KNIGHT Spectra in your wish list this Christmas: the loaded star cam features, the battery life because it's 3,500 mAh, and AMOLED HD display which I've seen as one of the features of some high-end televisions. Thank you so much Starmobile for having me and for letting me share this event to my readers. Here's a sneek peak of the event, comment below if you see me in the video. Hint: I'm wearing a black sheer blouse during the event and my back was captured in the middle part taking event photos.
