Product Review: Dove Intensive Moisturizing Cream

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

Last month, my mom gave me a tub of this moisturizer and I'm very eager to use it because my legs tend to become dry during cold months. I told myself that this product will work wonders with my dry skin because Dove is known as the moisturizing product from their ads and it also claims to be gentle on skin. Many of us have known Dove since our childhood days. I still remember when my relatives abroad brought different variants of Dove soaps and lotions as "pasalubong".

Dove Intensive Moisturizing Cream
product well sealed with foil
Dove Intensive Moisturizing Cream
texture is creamy and thick

What I like:
  • The tub is cute, actually i like the color of this better than Nivea creams, well-sealed and has manufacturing and expiry date on the side.
  • The smell is not overpowering, smells like Dove soap- white variant.
  • The texture is creamy and thick, a little goes a long way.
  • Has English translation since it came from Middle East.
What I don't like:
  • Unhygienic since it's in a tub.
  • Very moisturizing that it will make your skin oily if you use more than what it is intended.
  • Poor absorption of the product, takes more than 5 minutes in my case.
  • Can be very greasy if applied in the morning.
Will I repurchase? No, I like Glysolid more better than this.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. I think this product suits people with very dry skin. A little amount should be use in dry areas like elbows, knees, heels and hands because the product can get very sticky and greasy. Use a spatula when scooping out the product from the tub to avoid contamination.

Do you use moisturizing products like Dove on dry skin? What other products can you recommend?

Good Times!~

  3. I got this product at a 99 cents store and there were no instructions on the package as to whether this was a cleanser or moisturizer. Just judging from the texture im it feels like a moisturizer. It instantly made my skin so soft.I really love this product! !
