Dove Ultimate White Deo Presents Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Last August 28 Ms. Lhen Hasal of Ogilvy Public Relations Manila invited me to experience a night that will showcase the launch of Dove's new line of underarm product. Filled with fun and laughter, Dove introduced this promising deodorant together with Upstart Productions through Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues.

I arrived just in time and was amazed by the set-up of the place. Free flowing champagne and a sumptuous dinner was served before the play started. I don't have any idea what this monologue's all about. I must admit that I'm not the type who will reserve a seat just to watch theatrical shows. I'd rather go clubbin' or spend the night chillin' with my friends and siblings but after seeing the energetic, talented and gorgeous ladies I said to myself that I need to make this a new hobby! I'm so impressed with their performance and felt goosebumps while they deliver their lines. I really enjoyed the night and amazed with the performance. I went home empowered saying A-WOmen! Do you want to know why? Just read more and find out :D

Dove Ultimate White Deo Presents Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues
Dove Deodorant recently collaborated with Upstart Productions to present Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues. Inspired by stories from real women, this original outspoken comedy explores views on an intimate part of the body that females love to hate and hate to love: their underarms.

Beauty and Underarms rarely go together. In fact, women rarely talk about underarms, and women talk about everything. This is because many Filipinas are unhappy with their underarms: dark spots, chicken skin, odor and rough patches – real issues, but hardly the things you’d want to talk about over coffee. Still, real women, their issues, frustrations & joys, have always been Dove’s advocacy, so the idea of starting a conversation about one of the least talked about body parts stemmed out – what if your underarms could talk? What would it say to YOU, and what would YOU say back? Will it say something like Planet of the Apes or The Dark Knight Rises? I'm sure you're thinking of something right now and you can relate to what I'm saying, right?

The underarms, perhaps the last thing a woman would think of when asked about her best beauty asset. Still, 87% of women think their underarms CAN be a beauty asset …IF ONLY they looked better!* But women can’t really consider their underarms as an asset if they don’t like the way they look. Unfortunately, that is exactly how more than half of women feel about their underarms with more than half ranking it as one of the body parts they are unhappiest about.

Thank you very much ladies for the wonderful performance :)))
Dove Ultimate White Deo Presents Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues
Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues is written by theater veterans Joel Trinidad (“Kaos”; “Breakups and Breakdowns”) and Cathy Azanza-Dy (“Love, Loss, and What I Wore”; “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”), and directed by Cathy Azanza-Dy and Jenny Jamora. The show stars (in alphabetical order): Caisa Borromeo, Mayen Bustamante-Cadd, and Angela Padilla. It is directed by Cathy Azanza-Dy and Jenny Jamora.
Through the play, Dove Deodorant wishes to advocate that women should embrace and love their underarms, by first being comfortable enough to talk about them, and taking the time to care for and look after them. Espousing love for an otherwise hated body part perfectly affirms the Dove’s long-time celebration of real women and our view of beauty.
  • Did you know that when you shave, 30% of what is shaved off is actually your skin?
  • Did you know that when you pluck, your underarms become more prone to ingrown hair?
  • Did you know that repeated waxing can expose new skin cells too soon leaving skin irritated, dull and dry?
Among whitening deo users, a common concern is stubborn dark spots or patches that just won’t go away. Women have tried many things: home remedies, derma/laser treatments, even make up, but these dark spots remain unsolved. Today, Dove introduces its latest innovation for underarm skincare and whitening: Introducing NEW Dove Ultimate White - Dove’s premium deodorant made specifically to whiten those stubborn dark spots in the underarm area.
Dove Ultimate White Deodorant has ¼ moisturising cream, 2x licorice extracts and Vitamins E and F that nourish beneath the skin surface to effectively whiten and smoothen the underarms. It also has Omega 6 that works deep within the epidermis to reduce melanin formation and give precision whitening. Dark skin cells are slowly lifted away, revealing whiter, smoother underarm skin.

Product Review: Celeteque Acne Spot Corrector Gel

Sunday, September 09, 2012

Hello there loves! Hope you're all doing fine :D I'm excited to make this review because after two weeks of using religiously, I can attest to its effectiveness in combating those painful reddish pimple and dark spots or pimple marks. This is my first spot treatment to date since I just let a pimple or two subside by itself before. I have this bad habit of pricking those nasty zits on my cheeks and chin where they always pop out if the size is still the same after a week. I'm glad that after so many years of just letting pimples to come out of my face before and after my monthly period already found a solution.

Thanks to Celeteque DermoScience for bringing this product line. Although I haven't tried the Acne Solutions line, I'm sure they will give good results if used consistently. I suffered from acne breakouts last month and I'm considering two spot corrector that time. Since Celeteque is a trusted brand when it comes to skin care that's dermatologist-tested and hypoallergenic, I gave it a try and satisfied with the results.

I bought this Celeteque Acne Spot Correcting Gel three weeks ago and applied on existing cystic acne and new ones. Patience is a virtue, I'm not expecting this to make my pimple disappear overnight but in some cases or depending the size it can make a big difference on the size of a pimple after 12 hours. My son accidentally deleted the photo of my angry pimps that I wanted to show you- bummer! But I swear this product works!!! Now here's my take on Acne spot corrector gel, click read more to see my full review.

How Celeteque DernoScience ACNE SOLUTIONS Acne Spot Corrector Gel Works

~Uses beta hydroxy acid (BHA) combined with poly hydroxy acid (PHA), which aids in exfoliating dead skin cells and helps in diminishing pimples and other acne imperfections to achieve clear smooth skin.
~Contains Lilac leaf cell culture extract that helps reduce sebum production to prevent future acne breakouts.
~Has a biotechnological complex that acts as a natural astringent and sebum control.
~There is significant acne reduction by as much as 80% in just one day.

Celeteque Acne Spot Corrector Gel
Handy dandy! Fits on my palm :D

ingredients: Aqua (Water), Alcohol Denat., Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Gluconolactone, Salicylic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, Laureth 7, Farnesol, Maltodextrin, Methylparaben, Sodium hydroxide, Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea tree) leaf oil, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch hazel) water, Disodium EDTA, Hamamelis viginiana (Witch hazel) extract, Sodium Metabisulfate, Syringa vulgaris (Lilac) leaf cell culture extract, Linalool, Aesculus hippocastanum (Horse chestnut) seed extract, Faex (Yeast) extract, Niacinamide, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Panthenol, Zinc Gluconate, Ethylparaben, Caffeine, Propylparaben, Biotin

Celeteque Acne Spot Corrector Gel

What I like:
  • The price- very affordable.
  • Comes in a handy tube that fits in my palm.
  • I can control the amount of product coming out of this nozzle type of tube.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Has a medicinal smell but tolerable.
  • There's a bit of stinging upon application, an indication that the product is working on the affected area.
  • Doesn't burn or peel the site where I applied it.
  • Reduced the size of my pimple after 12 hours and gone after 2-3 days.
  • Has batch, manufacturing and expiry date stamped on the box and the tube.

What I don't like:
  • Sometimes it's out of stock.

Will I repurchase? Yes! It's back-up worthy :D

Recommendations:
I give this a 4.5/5 rating. If you have time, use it more than twice a day to speed up the healing process of your zits. Since I'm always at home I make sure to apply a thin layer three or four times a day depending on the size of my pimples. I'm happy that when I wake up the next day it reduced the swelling, redness and size. If there's a sign that a new pimple is coming out, I immediately apply this gel and voila! I can bid my pimples goodbye :D

Do you use spot corrector treatment for your pimple? Any Celeteque users out there?

Good Times!~

Tagged: I Got Bitten by the Blog Bug

Yay! I got bitten by the Blog Bug. This is my second tagged post, the first one was from Chay of My Kichay Kit awarding me the Liebster Blog Award and now from Andy of Color My World. The tag was originally created by Nicole of Axons and DendritesReady? Then here it is...

When and Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging a year ago but I'm already a lurker in this blogosphere from way way back. I love reading product reviews and random posts at that time and I don't have any plans to write my own blog. When I've tried and tested some organic products especially soaps and skincare stuff, I decided to share my experience. I'm a believer in honest reviews that's why when I publish a review, I make sure that I've tried it for a week or a month. I was also persuaded by my hubby to make blogging a hobby so that I can relax and channel out a lighter side of being a stay-at-home mom that sometimes can be very stressful. I was hesitant that time thus my first blog post is titled To blog or not to blog :D

What do you love to blog about and why do you like it?

I love to blog about skincare especially organic ones, budget-friendly makeup, hair care, random thoughts on food, fashion, and lifestyle. I like sharing my thoughts on products that I've tried and tested through product reviews.

How did you get your blog name?

Nice question! I know a lot of my readers are very curious about my blog name. Dear Kitty Kittie Kath's name came from three things: Dear- since my blog is like the diary of my personal stuff it's like writing a letter or writing my own diary-like "dear...", Kitty Kittie- came from Barney's song. During the time that I'm ready to make my own blog post, my son was fond of Barney and Friends series. He's always singing "dear kitty kitty cat, dear kitty kitty". I had a hard time thinking of a blog name that night so I decided to just adapt the lyrics of the song and made some changes to the spelling. Kath- this should be the "cat" on the song and I just changed it to "Kath" my nickname.

What do you think is your best post yet?

I think all my reviews and hauls on Organic Skin Care ^_^

What is your inspiration for blogging at present?

The bloggers that I follow, my hubby and my son. I'm a soft-spoken and shy type girl with low self-esteem before I started blogging but now I'm turning into someone who can speak out and share her thoughts through blogosphere and in public.

Message for your readers:

Thank you very much for visiting my site and reading my blog! I really appreciate everyone who dropped by and commented on my reviews and some random stuff. I didn't expect to have followers especially bloggers that I follow! You're all my inspiration and I hope you also learn from my simple product reviews.

Now, it's my turn to tag lovely bloggers too!

Product Review: Nisce Whitening Soap

Thursday, September 06, 2012

Hi guys, tomorrow is Friday so any plans for the weekend? I'll be at the Dialysis center again for my father's treatment. I'm always outside the house which I really don't like but I have no choice. As much as possible, I always stay away from the scorching heat of the sun. Staying more than two hours outside makes me lightheaded and for sure will give me headache before the day ends. Another thing that I don't want to happen when staying long hours in the sun is the hyper-pigmentation that I get even though I'm using sunblock. My skin tends to be very sensitive when hit by the sun and for sure will give me uneven skin tone and darkening.

I'm super satisfied with organic soaps that I use everyday. If you're a reader of this blog from the start, I know you know that I love organic soaps from All Organics to Cyleina and Snoe Beauty. I'm using different variants alternately and depending on my skin needs. But sometimes I really got curious trying other soaps that looks promising. I always say to myself that I found my holy grail and just ignore them. But there's no harm in trying as long as you know the limitations :D When I attended the Niscenssa Online Store Launch, two products caught my attention. I already tried their Dr. Skin+ toner and I love the results on my skin. I'm so thankful when I discovered that another product that was glued on my eye during that evening came home with me inside the loot bag :)))

I was very hesitant at first, asking myself to use it or not? I scrutinized the ingredients and found out that it contains three whitening agents and beauty oils. I braved myself to use it even if I'm not sure about the effects it will give on my sensitive skin. So to be safe, I cut the soap into half and tried it for two weeks. I'm happy that nothing bad happened to my skin. I pair this soap with All Organics Calamansi so that if ever a bad reaction occur, there's a savior that will counter irritations. And after finishing the whole bar two days ago, I'm sure you're excited how did it fare with my skin. Read on to discover if this soap is a Yay or a Nyay...
Nisce Whitening Soap
This soap contains glutathione, kojic acid, and arbutin, all of which are effective skin lightening agents that competitively inhibit the activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme necessary for the synthesis of melanin, the skin's pigment. Kojic acid likewise has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
Hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested.
Nisce Whitening Soap
size: 135g

price: free (120php Around $2.80+)

place bought: free

instructions for use: Can be used for face and body

ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Hydroxide, Theobroma Cacao (Cacao) Seed Butter, Citric Acid, Tocopherol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil,, Glycerin, Water, Butylene Glycol, Arbutin, Citric Acid, Sodium Sulfite, Acetyl Tyrosine, Saxifraga Sarmentosa Extract, Paeonia Suffructicosa Root Extract, Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phospate, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Glutathione, Fragrance.

What I like:
  • The price- very affordable for a 135g product.
  • Doesn't melt fast, doesn't break or deform its shape even up to the last bits.
  • The scent is not overpowering.
  • Makes my skin soft and smooth.
  • The whole bar lasted me more than a month.
  • Can be bought online and shipping is free :D
  • No irritation and stinging.
  • This soap helped me maintain my skin tone (I'm always outside the house between 10am and 3pm doing errands and walking in and out of the hospital)
What I don't like:
  • Contains some synthetic chemicals which I'm trying to avoid as much as possible.
  • Not easily accessible for those who doesn't want to buy online. The nearest branch is far from where I live.
  • A little dryness which I guess will always be there after using whitening soaps.
Will I repurchase? Yes! I like that it's packed with 3 whitening ingredients (Kojic Acid, Arbutin and Glutathione).

Recommendation:
I give this a 4/5 rating. A cost effective whitening soap that really works! If you still haven't considered organic soaps as your new companion in terms of whitening, then I highly recommend this soap to you. I love organic whitening soaps but this one is very promising. It contains 3 whitening agents so instead of buying them separately (Kojic Acid, Arbutin and Glutathione), you can have them in just one bar. I can say that using this religiously for more than a month will give you a whiter, smooth and blemish free skin.

For more information on how to purchase their skin care products like them on Facebook: Niscenssa Direct Sales or visit Niscenssa Online Store :D

What's your current beauty soap? Thanks for sharing! Take care loves...

Good Times!~
