When you see a clean organized home almost always you can picture the type of individuals who lives in that home. You can imagine that their thoughts too are well put together. Nothing is more enjoyable than coming home to a clean organized home that exudes peace and tranquility. Happiness is Cleanliness -- a happy home is a clean home
“Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct; they are matters of education, and like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them.” – Benjamin Disraeli
CLEANLINESS is an acquired habit. I agree to this because my father is a clean freak. When I was still young, he instilled in us the importance of cleanliness at home. I can still remember him writing our cleaning schedules and tasks in a small cartolina and hang it at the door entrance, kitchen counter, and in select corners of our house.

Cheska Garcia-Kramer on Cleanliness |
So how does one acquire the habit of cleanliness? Cheska defined the word habit first. Habit in simple definition is something that a person does in a regular repeated way. When you do this activity or action regularly, one develops or acquires what we call a habit. Then she revealed her 3-step process in forming a habit.

Form Habits by the 3–Step Process:
Step 1: Set a Reminder
Ex. Place reminders behind sink/lavatory cabinet doors in every toilets & bathrooms of the house with cleaning instructions.
Step 2: Start with something easy to start
Ex. For an easy start, provide cleaning materials needed for cleaning and disinfecting the T/B under the sink & lavatory cabinets.
Step 3: Reward yourself or family member/s
Ex. Commend family members for keeping up with the good habit.

A. Begin by organizing your cleaning materials
- Organize your cleaning materials in a pail
- Place each pail in their designated T/B, maybe under the sink
- Post a reminder on an inconspicuous spot in the T/B to clean the room everyday
B. Organize the content of your pail
- Medium-sized pail or bucket to contain disinfectants
- Disinfectant spray for the lavatory and mirror
- Toilet Bowl Cleaner
- Rag, Utility Sponge, Tile Brush
- Mop
C. Keep a task chart to keep an eye on daily accomplishments
- Check DAILY if the task is accomplished diligently
D. Post reminder posters sanitizing the kitchen every after daily use
- It is good practice that we keep a mop in a pail of water filled with disinfectant in a safe corner of the kitchen
E. Keeping the living room clean
- Mopping the whole house 3 x a day should be a habit that every household should acquire because nothing can compensate with a compromised health

Last but not the least, Rica Peralejo-Bo enlightened us on how to have a CLEAN heart. Her topic is still on cleaning but focuses with the matters of the heart. Her talk was inspirational and her sharing bible verses gave me some realizations in life. “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:24)

A. What we put in our hearts
“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45, ESV Bible)

B. What we release from our hearts
1. Encouragement
The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. (Proverbs 11:25, The Message Bible) "When you open doors for others, God will open doors for you." (Lisa Bevere)
2. Confessions
Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. (James 5:15, The Message Bible)
3. Forgiveness
“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” (C.Joybell.C)
4. Apology
“Never forget the nine most important words of any family: I love you; You are beautiful; Please forgive me.” (H.Jackson Brown Jr.)
C. What we keep in our hearts
- Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. (Proverbs 19:11, ESV Bible)
- “Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win.” (Jonathan Kozol)
- “But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.” (Luke 2:19)
