How Do You Brush Your Teeth?

We all know that it’s important to brush your teeth twice a day. Chances of you skipping this is low, however, you might be brushing your teeth the wrong way. You might drag the toothbrush back and forth, which doesn’t do that good of a job. Brushing like this is pretty aggressive and would damage your enamel over time.

So, how should you be brushing your teeth? You need to rotate the toothbrush in gentle, circular motions. You’ll be going across each section slowly, which would take 2-3 minutes in total.

What Toothpaste Are You Using?

What your teeth need to stay strong is fluoride. It’s vital that the toothpaste you use comes with it as otherwise, your teeth would decay. This will happen even if you’re taking good care of them, and you might have to get dental crowns later on in life.

In terms of toothpaste that doesn’t come with fluoride, the majority of them are made from herbs, and other Ayurvedic ingredients.

Stay Away From Coffee

If you want perfect teeth, you need to stay away from coffee. Yes, coffee is delicious, but caffeine seriously stains your teeth. If you drink a cup or two, it won’t do much, but if you drink coffee like your life depends on it, your teeth are going to get stained.

It isn’t just coffee that does this. If you drink sugary drinks, especially coca-cola or pepsi, the black pigment in them would wreak havoc. To an extent, this is true for tea too, but tea doesn’t do as bad of a job as coffee does.

Stop Grinding Your Teeth

A lot of people grind their teeth. It’s a bad habit. When you grind your teeth, you’re weakening your enamel. This causes your teeth to chip, especially if you’re doing it hard. Stopping this behavior is easier said than done. There are things like teeth stints out there, which would make the change easier.

Stay Away From Sugar

Sugar is your worst enemy. It breaks down enamel, causing cavities. Cavities are hard to prevent if you don’t brush your teeth properly. Cutting sugar doesn’t mean eradicating it from your diet. Instead, take it easy. If you limit the number of sodas you drink, you’ll be helping yourself considerably.

So, what do you think? Taking care of your teeth is not hard. Although we covered 5 things you could do, there are more that you should know about. Thankfully, we covered the most important points, so if you stick with them, you’re good to go.
