Product Review: Cyleina Organic Kojic Soap

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Hi dearies! How's your day? I know it's gloomy and raining outside. The lazy in me just wanted to lay down in bed and sleep all day.  But I want to make a review because some thoughts are swirling on my mind and I want to say it right now. Anyhoo, before I fell in love with All Organics soaps like Calamansi, Papaya with Glutathione and Singkamas, my staple organic soap was Cyleina. I've been a user of Cyleina for 2 years and it's the first brand of organic soap that I love! So today, I'm rekindling my love to their kojic soap which I purchased last week when I saw it at Watson's.

I know this soap earned a lot of raves from different forums and I'm sure most of you have tried one or two variants. I used to buy Cyleina soaps from re-sellers before and now Watson's sells what I think the most popular variants of their soaps like Black Pearl, Rice Bran, Strawberry, Kojic, Grape Seed and Payaya with Goat's Milk. To know more about Cyleina visit their website here: www.cyleina.com
Kojic soap is a powerful anti-oxidant with pure natural whitening agents, this triple action skin whitening soap ensures a clear, smooth even toned complexion. It helps repair existing skin damage, preventing wrinkles that are signs of skin ageing, and improve the overall condition of the skin leaving it more vibrant healthier glow.
Kojic acid was discovered as a natural product derived from a mushroom in Japan. This is considered a very important ingredient in cosmetics because of its medicinal properties. It has been successfully used to lighten pigment spots and skin discoloration and considered as a popular inhibitor for melanin. At present, it is used in various kinds of cosmetic therapies for pimples, freckles, acne, sunburn, eczema, skin blemishes and other skin problems.

size: 120grams

price: 65php (Around $1.50)

place bought: Watson's Health and Beauty Store, Sm Fairview

instruction for use: Use as bath soap and facial wash, for face and body

ingredients: Saponified Vegetable Oil, Organic Papain Enzyme, Organic Orange Peel Oil, Kojic Acid, Orange Essential Oil

What I like:
  • It's organic!
  • the scent- smells sweet but not overpowering
  • gives a "glow" on skin
  • it lightened some dark spots on my face but it takes a long time
  • affordable
  • easily accessible- now available at Watson's
  • wide selection of soap for different skin needs
What I don't like:
  • melts easily unlike All Organics (same organic soaps which doesn't contain any soap hardener)
  • no batch, manufacturing and expiry date printed on the box
  • a bit drying on skin
Will I repurchase? Yes! I need to use it again to lighten some marks left by pimples on my face

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.5/5 rating. I really love organic soaps and this kojic acid is one of them. For maximum results, leave the lather for 3 minutes then rinse. Use your favorite lotion or body butter after. Since this organic soaps doesn't contain soap hardener, cut it into pieces so that it will not melt easily.

Have you tried Cyleina organic soap? Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

Good Times!~

  1. Cute new packaging! I used to be a fan of Cyleina but I lost contact with my supplier so I switch to OTC soaps. :)

  2. I am going to try this soap as soon as my stock runs out. I've been looking at Kojic soaps for a long time now and I think I have to eventually try them somehow.

  3. @Lizzie: hi sis, you can now purchase your Cyleina at Watson's kaya lang limited yung range ng variants dun.

@Chew On This: give this kojic soap a try, for me it's mild compared sa OTC kojic soap basta wag matagal mababad sa face or body.

  10. I don't like this soap. The cyleina black pearl to be specific, my face gt irritated and itchy everytime I used it. It has cooling effect but didnt last long. Plus, it gave me some warts. Its so expensive and no expiry date. A No no for sensitive skin. So dissappointed! I would never buy this soap again. I txted the # written on the box but they never reply. :(
