My Hong Kong Lifestyle Haul

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

Hong Kong is known as one of the countries where you can shop til you drop. It's a shoppers heaven and the infamous Mongkok and Temple Street are your best bet if you're looking for bargains and cheap finds. We went to Hong Kong last June 4 and stayed there for 4 days. It's my third visit and I don't shop that much as compared to my first and second visit some 10 years ago.

We went to Hong Kong for my son's pre-birthday celebration and to visit Ocean Park Adventure courtesy of Klook Philippines. Booking our Ocean Park Adventure Tickets and 4G WiFi via Klook PH is one of the best decisions that I've made for this trip and I will muse more of that on my next post. But for now, I want to share my small haul which primarily consists of gifts for the birthday celebrants in the family and some goodies for the parentals, sisters, and pamangkins.

My Hong Kong Lifestyle Haul

For this trip, no list of what to buy because like I said above, the plan is to have a vacation not to shop. There are three birthday celebrants in the family this month- my son Kenzo, my father, and my niece. A week before leaving for Hong Kong, my papa told me that he wanted Nike Cortez shoes in a white and black colorway.

I bought the shoes in a random shoe store along Tsim Sha Tui named Marathon Sports. Nothing pretty much to say about this classic from Nike. I'm not sure if this one is cheaper here or there, I just grabbed it so that I will not think too much about my gift for papa. I also have this in the black and white colorway.

I think this is already a drill for me or for us whenever we travel out of the country- buy a limited edition toy or toys for Kenzo. Since it's his birth month, we gave in to his wish- train toys! We bought the limited Thomas and Friends Talking Diesel at Toys R Us Central together with the Airfix Quick Build Hawk which assembles like a Lego. The small peak tram-train was an impulse buy at 7-11 while the HK Tramways Set was bought inside Ocean Park Adventure Souvenir Shop.

Our hotel is located along Nathan Road and shops are everywhere. There are so many beauty and lifestyle shops outside Caritas Bianchi Lodge Hotel like Mannings and Bonjour. These two are Watsons counterpart though I've also seen a Watson store near our hotel. I bought the Mediheal Hair Color Cream because I'm obsessed with coloring my hair and the photo of the box caught my attention. Lucas Papaw Ointment for my sister. Tip- Lucas Papaw is way cheaper n Hong Kong. This big tube is less than P200 pesos. You're welcome :) The Deoproce BB cream is for my mama who is a fan of bb and cc cream.

These are random candies from a convenience store. If there's a new Mintia flavor on the counter, except that I'll buy it. Asahi Mintia Milk and Menthol, anyone?

I saw a Daiso-like store just a few meters from our hotel and I was able to score this Jojo Siwa Bow that I gave to my birthday celebrant niece. The silicon bean pencil case and monkey pouch were from U Home.

Lastly, default souvenirs like ref magnets which I bought at The Peak and Ocean Park. These are what I so-called the no-brainer pasalubong for friends and relatives.

So there, I'm glad that I was able to stay calm and not get too excited to shop when I saw the stores along Nathan Road. Maybe on my next visit, I'll do a massive haul?! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my next Hong Kong post :)

Good Times!~
