Monday, May 5, 2014

Brains, beauty, and body! These are the three qualities a beauty pageant candidate should possess. I'm sure you are all aware that Filipinas have it! We love joining beauty pageants and our representatives these past few years have brought pride and honor to our country. This time let mothers and single mothers shine! Before you raise your eyebrows and have second thoughts on this kind of beauty pageant, let me share with you what married women nowadays wanted to show and tell the whole world. Empowered mothers vie for the Mrs. Philippines -Globe 2014. Smart, gorgeous and fit married and single mother's joined this years competition and I've witnessed all the traits I mentioned above during the press launch held at SMX Convention Center Sm Aura Taguig City last April 29, 2014. As a mother, I know how hard to manage time for myself and my family that's why I'm amazed with these women from different walks of life on how they maintained their physical appearance especially their figure and glowing skin. There are 24 aspiring candidates and I chose 5 as my bet for the coronation night. Excited to see what happened during the launch and my top 5? Click CONTINUE READING to find out!

Who will wear this prestigious crown?
Before the event started, we we're served with a healthy lunch. I personally like the dishes offered by the catering because it's light but filling and delicious. I can say this healthy lunch is really fit for a queen!

The press launch was hosted by two crowned Mrs. Philippines-Globe beauties. Both of them still possess the aura of beauty title holders. I'm inspired by Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo's short but sweet speech that married women and single mothers should uplift themselves from the stereotypes and become an inspiration to other mothers.

“These are women who do not let age and civil status get in the way of fulfilling their dreams, and whose achievements, charitable acts and life stories serve as inspiration to others forming a community and sisterhood of empowered women. Women are usually stereotyped to skills confined inside homes but Mrs. Philippines-Globe tries to change how married women and single mothers perceive themselves,” said national pageant director Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo.
