Product Review: Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Soap

Friday, July 27, 2012

Happy Friday guys! It's weekend already and I'm up again for another review. If you're following my journey about organic soaps, I'm sure you know that most of them gave positive results on my skin. See all my review here :D I always have high hopes when it comes to organic soap since this came to rescue when my face suffered from adult acne. Almost all the brands that I've tried became my HG or at least a great substitute when I ran out of stock. I thought I'll be forever hiyang with organic soap. This time I'll believe what the hubby always tell me, Life is never fair. At least with me- out of 5 different soaps that I've tried, there will be 1 that will give negative result. And now it happened.

After receiving my Everyday Essentials Loot from The Beauty Junkee, I decided to give the Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal soap a try. I had cystic acne on my chin and right cheek that day so when I arrived home I cut the soap and use it as my facial wash. I used it religiously for 3 weeks, day and night. I know there's something wrong from the very beginning but I just ignored it since I really need to see if there's an improvement on the cystic pimples on my face. I also read positive reviews about the wonders of charcoal in detoxifying skin impurities that's why I didn't hesitated to give it a try.

Two weeks after using the soap, my skin was still the same. Cystic acne was still there. My skin got a bad reaction, it's like I had a burned skin on the corners of my mouth and in some part of my face. I still gave the soap another week but I guess that's it, this soap is not for me :( But fret not, I think this soap is still worth a try if your skin is very oil and not sensitive. Don't click the [x] yet, read on to see my full review.
Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Soap
INFO TAKEN FROM CAMARU NATURALS
Bamboo charcoal soap is one of the best soaps for acne in the world. It possesses ancient mystical powers that allow it to clean deep down beneath the pores like no soap can. One of the ways it does this is with Activated Bamboo Charcoal. Activated bamboo charcoal is added to the organic soap to allow it to draw dirt from deep inside the pores. This gives the acne skin a clean like no soap can clean and the feeling is quite noticeable. Once our pores our cleaned thoroughly our body provides natural moisturizes back to the acne skin allowing the skin to breathe plus leaving the skin incredibly soft and revitalized. Unlike bamboo charcoal soap most soaps will leave a residue on our skin after washing and this blocks the skins natural moisturizers from coating the skin. If you suffer from acne skin you need to try this wonderful soap. Results are quick and you will see a difference in a few days.

TREATING YOUR SKIN with BAMBOO CHARCOAL SOAP
Bamboo Charcoal also called "Takesumi" in Japanese, is widely used in Japan to activate skin. This natural element has been used in Japan for many years because of its detoxifying power. It has naturally occurring anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. It effectively cleanses and unclogs pores, removing impurities and dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin, leaving skin supple, delicate and smooth.
The bamboo charcoal soap, acts as an antioxidant and regular use can help clear blemished skin.

Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Soap
I didn't finish the whole bar. I only cut a fraction of it and just got melted on the soap dish after losing hope that it will work for me :(

What I like:
  • It's organic.
  • Very affordable for a 135g soap.
  • Lathers well, forms a rich thick lather.
  • The smell is not overpowering.
What I don't like:
  • As much as I wanted this to work, nothing happened with my cystic pimples.
  • It made my sensitive skin more susceptible to redness thus caused a little burned skin on the corner of my mouth.
  • Not readily available, you have to purchase online.
  • No manufacturing and expiry date.

Will I repurchase? No. I'll just repurchase the Acerola White C which gave positive results on my skin.

Recommendations:
I give this soap a 3/5 rating. I envy those girls who tried this because their zits dried up after a day and their skin cleared up in just a month. Don't lose hope with this soap. Maybe it's just me who experienced negative results. I can say that bamboo charcoal is harsh for my sensitive and thin skin. So if you want to try this soap, make a patch test first. Always bear in mind that Natural products can cause allergic reactions. In my case, if the product still gives negative reaction on my skin after three weeks then it's not suited for me.

Have you tried charcoal soaps before? How does it fare with your skin? Have a great weekend guys!

Good Times!~

Product Review: Camaru Naturals Acerola White C Whitening Soap

Hi dearies! My 100th follower giveaway is ending soon. You can still log in your entries here. Before I start this review I wanna say thank you so much for reading this simple blog. I'm not expecting too much, I just want to share my journey on finding budget friendly and cost-effective skin care most specially organic ones. Honestly, organic products became my skin's best friend. I suffered worst adult acne before, I went to facial salons to somehow minimize the damage it made to my skin but none really worked. It just gave me short-term effects and made my bank broke. It's very tiring to go on the same routine when you didn't notice any significant changes. I'm not saying that organic or natural products can be safe for everyone. I always say this precaution on my review that it can also cause allergies too. So use the product on your own risk. We have different skin conditions, what works for me may not work for you or vice versa.

Since I really love the effect of organic soaps on my skin, I'm always giddy to try new brands. I already found my HG soaps: All Organics Calamansi, All Organics Bengkoang, Snoe Vitamin C Rich Calamansi and Snoe Organic Green Papaya that I use alternately or depending on my mood. I just wish that All Organics and Snoe will have a boutique or kiosk near my place or at Sm Fairview so that I don't have to go at Trinoma to replenish my stocks.

When I saw Camaru Naturals on GT Forums, I asked myself if I'm ready to try another brand again. I was very curious about the brand name because it sounded Japanese to me. I'm a self-confessed Japanese culture addict before, I like their culture and their skin care products. So to feed my curiosity I started looking for positive testimonials about their soap. When I joined TBJ's 3rd Anniversary Grand Giveaway I felt very excited because she's giving away Camaru Naturals products. Luckily, I won and it's a sign that I really need to try the soap. After a month of usage, here's my take on Camaru Naturals Acerola White C naturally rich in vitamin C whitening soap :D
RENEWING your skin with CAMARU NATURALS ACEROLA White C SOAP.
Acerola fruit is abundantly found in Brazil. It is one of the world's richest natural sources of Vitamin C. This important antioxidant ingredient helps to reverse the effects of skin damage caused by the sun and pollution and helps brighten uneven skin tone.

What I like:
  • It's organic!
  • The price- very affordable for a 135g soap.
  • I love the citrusy smell, it's like lemon lime.
  • It produces a very rich and thick lather.
  • My skin feels squeaky clean after taking a bath.
  • I used it on my body and it really does the job on exfoliation department.
  • It tightens the skin and gives a "glow" that makes the skin supple.
What I don't like:
  • A bit drying that is natural with whitening soaps.
  • There's no manufacturing and expiration date.
  • Not easily accessible, you have to purchase online.
Will I repurchase? Yes!

Recommendation:
I give this soap a 4.25/5 rating! I like using the soap on my body. If you find the soap drying, use your favorite lotion after taking a bath. The soap doesn't melt easily so it's okay if you'll let the whole bar sit on the soap dish itself. With my experience with other organic soaps, some tends to melt easily. Always remember that natural skin care products can also cause allergic reactions. It's better to test the soap first on small area of your body just to be sure that it's safe on your skin.

Have you tried Camaru Naturals skin care products? Thanks for sharing! Take care guys :D
