Practice Your Style

Fashion trends can be intimidating. I’ve always been quite self-conscious about whether or not I’m pulling an outfit off and it’s taken me a little time to feel really comfortable in my style. Over the past few years, however, I’ve been putting more effort into learning how I can look noticeably great and here are a few tips I want to share with you!

Adjust Your Outfit to You

Just because the mannequin displays the clothing in a certain way, doesn’t mean it’s mandatory. It might sound obvious but it is easy to forget that the shop’s style is only a suggestion. You might want to buy a shirt in a size much larger than your own and then simply add a belt turning it into an alternative dress, or be a little braver and try cutting and adjusting the shape of clothing yourself. I’d recommend trying this with your old clothing first as it’s a great way to practise as well as rejuvenate a tired wardrobe!

Elegantly In Style

It Doesn’t Have to be Expensive!

By spending a little time, you can save a little money. It’s easy to find discounts and sales, you just have to dedicate part of your schedule to looking! Keep your eye out on the high street to catch early offers, or root around in shops for surprise items, or search online for inspiration such as these Wallis fashion deals at Groupon. I recommend keeping a list of clothing items that you’re looking for and then regularly checking for deals online or keep a folder of inspirational images of styles you like so that you can draw ideas from them!

Don’t be Afraid of Colour

This one took me a long time to get over. For the longest time I referred to my style as understated, defending my dark colours. I think I was lacking certainty to try variety, especially those bright and beautiful colours. If this sounds like you, try incorporating colours through accessories first, even a brightly coloured pair of shoes can enhance a more simple, dark dress. I found that trialing an occasional pair of yellow shoes or a pink necklace here and there gave me more confidence to spruce whole outfits. Go into your favourite stores and pick up coloured items that you wouldn’t previously consider and try them on - you might surprise yourself!

It’s All About You

The most important thing I’ve learned, is the style that will make you happiest, the one that will get you the most satisfying compliments, is the one you most endorse. If you see something you like or a trend you enjoy, then wear it. There is nothing quite as obviously attractive as somebody who is dressing in a way that makes them happy. Be sure about the fashion you love, don’t be afraid to try adjusting those nearly perfect items, spend time looking for those good deals, and be brave with your colour. Style, like all things, takes practise and there is never a better time to start than now!

The comfort in fashion is key when you´re going from pillar to post, for this reason I consider that my style is high-street fashion, I always try like look trendy but I am not a fashionista😄😄😄
