Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Fright Express

Thursday, November 10, 2016

Last October 31, Kenzo joined Nickelodeon's Halloween party at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall. Highlight of the event was the so called ride of our lives aboard the Takotown: Fright Express — a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience where over 4,000 fans were treated to an afternoon packed with frightfully-fun tricks and treats, surprises and activities.

The perfect trick or treat activity for kids (and the young at heart), Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Fright Express turned a usually scary Halloween extravaganza into an epic celebration, the Nickelodeon way. And with the Spook Station’s unique and thematic areas, the haunted main attraction offered an unforgettable experience to families. Highlights of the event below :)

The Terror Tour took guests on an exciting and interactive travel experience inside the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall. With four special train stops, Kenzo and I departed for a journey to the Haunted Mansion, where we saw old, creepy-looking picture frames that had real-life costume characters do the scaring.

Along the Cemetery area, we weaved through cobwebs and encountered white ladies and ghosts, with skeletons all over the place, while floating coffins swarmed one of the train stops. Filled with spooky trees and a strange abandoned cabin, the Scary Jungle stop left us screaming and yes Kenzo was frightened. It's his first time to ride a scary train and he actually cried when he saw a 'kapre.'

At the opening of Takotown, attendees were treated to an exclusive screening of Nickelodeon’s newest shows—School of Rock and Regal Academy. Live-action show School of Rock, based on a group of overachieving prep school students who band together and learn how to rock it out, was a hit. Regal Academy showed a hilarious and an exciting new take on some of the best-loved fairy tales, which focused on the adventures of Rose Cinderella, the newest student at Regal Academy.

There's a special activity area that was enjoyed by thousands of Takotown fans. Apart from the Spook Station’s Terror Tour, guests also took part in Nickelodeon-inspired stage games, patterned after some of the brand’s well-loved shows, such as The Loud House, and The Fairly OddParents, for a memorable Halloween experience.

Our visit to Takotown became complete because we saw some of Nickelodeon’s famous characters, like Bikini Bottom’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, as well as PAW Patrol’s Chase and Marshall, also made special appearances and delighted event-goers. Even Mc Donald's mascots Grimace and Hamburglar were present to join and take photos with the guests that day.

Indeed, at Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Fright Express, Halloween is not just about giving a good scare but celebrating a thrilling season of spooking. Kenzo enjoyed the event and also wore his zombie race car driver costume. We visited some booths and saw the parents and kids patiently waiting in line just to join the activity.
