Product Review: Kojie San kontur Cellulite Control Soap

Sunday, August 25, 2013

This review has been sitting on my blog bin for more than 6 months now. I totally forgot about this soap from Kojie San. When I bough this soap last February, I told my self to keep this as a secret. I'm a bit shy to tell my friends that I'm using a soap to reduce the appearance of my cellulites. I presume everyone knows what cellulite is? Well, according to Medical News Today:
Cellulite is a condition in which the skin appears to have areas with underlying fat deposits, giving it a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It is most noticeable on the buttocks and thighs, and usually occurs after puberty.
Cellulite is also known as adiposis edematosa, dermopanniculosis deformans, status protrusus cutis, and gynoid lipodystrophy in the medical field and as orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, hail damage, and the mattress phenomenon in colloquial language.
Cellulite is often classified using three grades:Grade 1 cellulite sees no clinical symptoms, but a microscopic examination of cells from the area detects underlying anatomical changes.Grade 2 cellulite requires the skin to show pallor (pastiness), be lower temperature, and have decreased elasticity, in addition to anatomical changes noted by microscopic examinations.Grade 3 cellulite has visible roughness of the skin (like an orange peel) along with all grade 2 signs.Although cellulite can affect both sexes, it is much more common in females, mainly because they are more likely to have particular types of fat and connective tissue.
What causes cellulite? The causes of cellulite are not well understood, but there are several theories that have been put forth as explanations. Among these are:
  • Hormonal factors - hormones likely play an important role in cellulite development. Many believe estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin are part of the cellulite production process.
  • Genetics - certain genes are required for cellulite development. Genes may predispose an individual to particular characteristics associated with cellulite, such as gender, race, slow metabolism, distribution of fat just underneath the skin, and circulatory insufficiency.
  • Diet - people who eat too much fat, carbohydrates, or salt and too little fiber are likely to have greater amounts of cellulite.
  • Lifestyle factors - cellulite may be more prevalent in smokers, those who do not exercise, and those who sit or stand in one position for long periods of time.
  • Clothing - underwear with tight elastic across the buttocks (limiting blood flow) may contribute to the formation of cellulite.
Kojie San kontur Cellulite Control Soap
is a special bath soap formulated with natural marine derived extracts that effectively reduce the appearance of unsightly cellulite and unwanted curves.
So I use the soap everyday, twice a day to be exact so that I will see the maximum effect in a short span of time but all my efforts were useless. Unfortunately, the product just became a normal soap for me.
Kojie San kontur Cellulite Control Soap

instruction for use: Use as a regular soap for your body. Using a circular motion, massage the creamy lather in targeted area. Like tummy, legs and arms.

What I like:
  • The price- it's affordable.
  • The scent- very relaxing, there's a spa-like smell in the bathroom everything I use this product.
  • Produces a very rich, thick and creamy lather.
  • The soap does't melt fast.
  • The soap lasted for more than a month.
  • It gave a minty and tingling sensation on my tummy area every time I use it. There's a feel of relaxation every use.
  • Makes my skin soft and smooth to touch after every use.
  • Doesn't dry the skin on my tummy area.
  • Has manufacturing and expiry date printed on pagkaging.
What I don't like:
  • Doesn't make my cellulite appear less visible.
  • After using it regularly for 2 months, my tummy area is still the same. No "firming" effect happened.
Will I repurchase? No

Recommendation:
I give this soap a 2/5 rating. Nothing beats balance diet and exercise in removing all the unwanted fats and cellulite in our body. A healthy lifestyle is still the key to loosing those stubborn cellulite. If I have the money, I think there's no harm in trying laser treatments to lessen the appearance of those nasty cheese. Since topical ointments like creams, serums and including soap doesn't penetrate the deepest portion of the skin, I think the product will not work 100%. If it does, it's not permanent and will come back once you stopped using the product. As with other treatments like going under the knife, it's more expensive, not everyone is qualified to undergo surgery, and a whole lot more pro's and con's to consider.

Have you tried this soap from to fight those stubborn cellulite? Aside from soaps, has anyone tried using anti-cellulite lotion, cream, or serum? Hope you can share your experience.

Good Times!~

  11. @Czjai Reyes-Ocampo- Mabuti nga sis I didn't insisted to myself that the product will still work. Minsan kasi makulit din ako kahit di effective pipilitin ko pa din. Hahaha

@Leilani Gamboa- I tried creams na din dati from a well know drugstore brand in skin care pero it gives short-term results. Once you stop, it will go back again sa dati. Thanks for your recommendation, will try that one of these days.

@Phya- Hihi, thank you sis for reading and considering my review before trying the product.

@Franc Ramon- Hello, thanks for your nice comment. I guess the ingredients are nice to reduce the fats in our body like the caffeine and the sea weed but I guess it doesn't fit to everyone.

    @Le-an Lacaba- I agree!

@sherry ann gole cruz- we all want to hoard effective products, diba?

@roviedear- yup sis. maybe you should give this a try and mag work syo :)

@Debarpan- Yep sis, it's good even though it's not effective on the slimming department.

@melandria romero- sometimes ineffective products can make you disappointed to the point you lose your trust and faith in trying another brand.

@Angel Diamante- thank you very much dear, will share the link on Dear Kitty Kittie Kath's FB page :)

  14. Feeling ko if a cellulite product is going to work, it should be at least in cream form (although, I'm skeptical that a cream exists).

At least you didn't spend on it. At least, ok na din as a cleanser.

  15. @Rae A.- hello :) I think may cream form din kaya lang sobrang mahal nun and I'm not naman ganun ka desperate to try it. I've read reviews na din before na hindi din ganun ka effective yung cream form so syang din money. Mabuti nga kahit papano nagamit ko pa din to :)

  18. It worked for me, I used it on the stomach, I just wait for the soap to dry and after that, it makes me wanna go to the bathroom and release the things I ate. @-@

  20. Don't depend on the soap alone. Perhaps it could have worked if you did some exercise that will target those areas with cellulite. :)

    1. Hi Jeneve,

Obvious reason kasi ng-eexercise ka. Siguro nakaka-help din yung soap pero in a minimal way lang.
