Product Review: Lion Smile White Eyes and Rohto C3 Cube Eye Drops

Saturday, September 14, 2019

I’ve been wearing contact lenses since time immemorial. I was in 6th grade when I first started wearing colored contact lens for fashion. Back then, I’m not aware that there’s a specific eye drop for contact lens wearer.

Fast forward today, I've tried two brands of eye drops from Japan already and so happy that I discovered these four years ago- Rohto and Lion. My bad that I wasn't able to make a review of the other variants that I've tried namely Rohto Lycee and Rohto C Cube. Wearing contact lenses dries the eye that's why you'll need eye drops to relieve fatigue, make the eyes bright and healthy-looking. So without further ado, sharing a short review on Lion Smile White Eyes and Rohto Eye Drops that I highly recommend for contact lens wearer here in the Philippines.

  • Inflammation of the eye due to ultraviolet or other light (such as snow blindness)

Like what I said above, I've been using Japanese eye drops for four years now. I've first stumbled upon the brand Rohto while checking Japanese stuff from an online store. It was the infamous variant Lycee that stole my heart because of the color and the packaging.

Product Review: Lion Smile White Eyes and Rohto C3 Cube Eye Drops

The eye drops, Lion and Rohto are the cutest! Both packagings are small and handy yet very functional and sturdy. They're easy to use and effective. I only cringe on their availability because it's not easily accessible. I was in Kyoto, Japan last April 2018 and saw these in Don Quijote Avanti. So if you have friends or relatives living in Japan and going home for a vacation, ask them to buy these eye drops for you.

What I like:
  • Both have cute packagings. They are handy and portable.
  • The clear bottle makes it easy to see how much product left inside.
  • No need to squeeze, both dispenses the right amount of product once dropped in the eyes.
  • True to its promise, it gives a cooling effect that is tolerable.
  • Does not sting or give a burning sensation in my eyes.
  • Gives comfort from eye irritation from dust or foreign material.
  • Red eyes to white in an instant.
  • I love that it moisturizes my eyes especially on long hours of contact lens wear.
  • A little amount goes a long way.
  • Batch, manufacturing, and expiry dates are printed on the box packaging.
  • True to their claims.

What I don't like:
  • Not easily accessible
  • Can be steep for budget-conscious individuals if bought from PH online shops.
  • No translation of Japanese text.

Will I repurchase? YES! I want to try other variants from both brands.

I give this a 5/5 rating. Both are effective in terms of keeping the eyes moisturized and healthy. It gives a refreshing feel on my eyes while wearing contact lenses. Less to no redness after long hours of contact lens wear. All in all, I have a wonderful experience with both. I will definitely and highly recommend these and will be replenishing my stash soon.

Have you tried these eye drops from Lion and Rohto?

Good Times!~

  1. I will ask them as my pasalubong if my friends or relatives will visit Japan. Yay! I love your review Miss Kath. I hope they would also have physical store here or distributor. ❤️ 😊

    1. Hi Pau,

Yay, you will like this. And yes, you gotta get them sa Japan talaga. Sana nga, laki din kasi ng markup sa online stores if ever they are selling these items.

  2. Hi, may pagkakaiba ba sa dalawa? What's better between the two brands? :)

    1. Hi,

Lion Smile is for non-contact lens user. Rohto is good if you wear contact lens daily. Both are okay for me. I use both.

Thank you for visiting my blog!~ I would love to hear your thoughts :)
Your comments are always welcome and appreciated :)
